People need to understand puest form of oxygen is toxic to our body. As the air we breathe contains a big part of nitrogen and co2 apart from other gases. So it is a balanced input. So please say NO to these kind of stuff.

Breathing pure oxygen can lead to oxygen toxicity, which can cause lung damage, seizures, and even death in extreme cases. It's generally safe for short periods under medical supervision, but prolonged exposure can be dangerous.

I always laugh at just how explosive, flammable, and destructive some of thr most important elements of our body are. It is like the who who of destruction. Except nitrogen. Yet hydrogen, oxygen, phosphorous, sodium, etc etc are. People don't know it yet hydrogen and oxygen like to make everything deteriorate just by sitting there. Well people should realize oxygen is bad for a lot of things. Still blows my mind that fire didn't exsist till organisms made the atmosphere full of oxygen.

Medical student here. you can only take in as much oxygen as your blood can carry, and your blood is already working at 100% capacity with normal air, it’s like giving your factory workers more materials, which will not change their speed of work. This product is only useful in high altitudes where there is less oxygen in the air. As for the drastic change in results, it’s simply a placebo effect, give him the same can but with normal air and I promise you it will give the same results.
@keegangunn1645
@keegangunn1645 Ай бұрын
I guarantee it will not, while blood may be working at 100% with the regular air content, the extra oxygen will simply just hang out in the lungs for a bit, so taking a single breath of the pure oxygen will be effective but taking multiple breaths will simply maintain that increased efficiency, as opposed to a steady rise most people expect

I would also not advise to relie on your bodies natural urge to breath, after consuming pure oxygen, as despite allow you to hold your breath longer, also makes it more difficult for your body to detect CO2 in your blood and cause you to black out if you dont breath and expel the CO2 from your body.

The urge to breathe is mainly controlled by the concentration of CO2, not O2. Yes oxygen, or lack of it, increases the urge, but is far from the main component. On a side note, this is the main reason working with large quantities of nitrogen can be lethal. If there is a major leak, you end up breathing pure nitrogen without oxygen and just end up passing out without even feeling shortness of breath. Since you breathe normally the CO2 concentration stays where it should and you don't notice a thing.
@cockeyedoptimista
@cockeyedoptimista 6 ай бұрын
Very interesting comment. Can you possibly explain the connection between CO2 (carbon dioxide?) and nitrogen? I don't understand (not a chemist; was art major but not stupid just uninformed.)
@sossiepie2243
@sossiepie2243 6 ай бұрын
@@cockeyedoptimistaco2 reacts with water and forms carbonic acid which decreases blood pH levels. Its this decrease in pH that drives the breathing response not the absence off oxygen because there's no mechanism to detect low oxygen in the body. Nitrogen is non reactive at normal pressure so it doesn't do anything for the body.

Also never forget that too high concetration of oxygen in your blood can be toxic and kill you. There is a reason why we don't need pure Oxygen to survive but a whole host of other gasses. So inhaling a couple of canisters at once, depending on how much pure oxygen is in there can bring you to the Hospital.
@TheDeathLove
@TheDeathLove Жыл бұрын
This is very half-assed information. Pure oxygen doesnt damage body. The urge to breath happens only with the acidic increase caused by carbon di oxide . High concentration of oxygen canisters are both used in hospitals and hyperbarric chamber as well as climbing high altitudes. High concentration of oxygen is only lethal if the air pressure is too high and ruptures lungs/aleveoli or suffocates you with co2 that cant be let out(due to high pressure)

@@justanothercatinside normally, lowering your carbon dioxide levels too fast causes your blood to become too alkaline, causing respiratory alkalosis, which includes breathlessness, dizziness, nausea and fatigue...now if your levels of carbon dioxide stay low for quite some time, it might also cause hypocania, which includes painful muscle cramps, abnormal heart rate, seizures and even lasting brain damage. Not to mention that excess oxygen can apparently cause hyperoxia, which can cause damage to your lungs...also, I kinda just researched this so I might not be the best source of information about this..

@@justanothercatinside so apparently, the oxygen is used to prevent hypoxemia, which is the opposite of hyperoxemia and basically really low level of oxygen, anesthesia puts the patient in a deep sleep or basically, unconsciousness, some people are able to breathe under anesthesia while some can't, that's why oxygen is administered before giving the patient anesthesia and during the surgery too.

imagine the look on his face when he realises your lungs only absorb 4% of the oxygen we breathe in
@domvasta
@domvasta Жыл бұрын
They absorb 20%, you inhale a breath of air, that air is roughly 80% nitrogen and 20% oxygen, you exhale, at the same pressure, roughly 80% nitrogen, 16% oxygen and 4% CO2. The oxygen percentage that made up the air going in was 20% the percentage oxygen coming out was 16% ((20%-16%)/20%)=20% difference between inhaled and exhaled O2 concentration.
@domvasta
@domvasta Жыл бұрын
And it does help a lot having pure oxygen, that's why they use it in patients with breathing difficulty in hospitals and nursing homes. It also helps when diving as it allows you to saturate your blood with oxygen and fully purge the CO2 from your blood, though this can kill you because it raises your blood pH
@phillipbarrero
@phillipbarrero Жыл бұрын
The point is to hold his breath tho… when we breath in the O2 from the atmosphere the increased amount of O2 in our lungs in relation to CO2 in our blood, is necessary to drive the reaction pulling CO2 out of the blood and allowing O2 to attach to the Hem groups in hemoglobin. So just by inhaling more O2 his body is able to undergo this process for longer periods of time without him needing to take a breath since it will take more time to use the increased O2 available since there is no longer any nitrogen in the air he is breathing.
