This feels like such a random thing to comment on, but Kayla is actually so good at delivering ads. Like, so many people are stiff and robotic when they do ads, just reading a script, but Kayla sounds so natural. It makes you not mind the ad at all!

Actually, Kayla bringing up the uses for the bed upstairs made me wanna see her build an oldschool inn in this style that would have a bar/restaurant downstairs and rooms to rent upstairs. It could be a rental lot or a pub/restaurant.

Advice for anyone making a UK themed restaurant or pub, put the loos on the far far end of the building. If the sims take any less than a hour to get to the loo, it's too close.

This might be a fun idea for a mini-series: spin a wheel for a community lot type and spin a lot for a world and then try and make it work

Those two sims that died of old age were young adults when they entered the restaurant. They were just waiting for their food that long 💀

Build idea: create a 5x5 house that is functional but with a catch! The rules are simple: you can have only one floor, you must fit 2 Sims (you can use bunk beds) and also a pet! I did it personally and it was a quite hard task I must admit! It took me like an hour (that is truly embarrasing) but I had so much fun!

If they added anything to luxury party i want it to be ballroom dancing/slow dancing like yes there are mods but i want more dance styles than the bad "break dancing"

You can also get roommates to live on your home lot and make a bit of cash off of it! I was so stoked when they added roommates with University, because I love having tenants, but hate having to control them.

The last time I dined out with my Sims, a lady friend asked me to go to a restaurant I had designed. We got there and were seated and ordered all ok. But then I noticed the one chef was still standing out front, and there were no chefs in the kitchen. It puzzled me greatly because I knew I had play tested the lot. But I must've forgotten to save or something, so I did go into Build Mode. There was a back door to the kitchen, and it looked functional, nothing to change, but it was one tile from the edge of the lot with the outside stairs to the side. The inside door to the kitchen had a wine cooler one tile away from it, but the space was diagonal. So I made the space one tile bigger. Sure enough, the chef went right in through the inner door, another chef came through the back door, and despite the Build Mode interruption, we got our meal around a half hour later! I was amazed.

I went to Vegas earlier this year and our hotel was broken into the night before we flew home. They stole my purse which of course had my wallet and my photo ID in it. They also stole both my boyfriends wallet and his dads wallet. Whenever we got to the airport we had to provide a police report that belongings were stolen. Before we went through security we each had to one by one talk to a TSA officer and “prove” our identity. They asked things like what is your mothers birthday, what kind of car is registered in your name, where is the nearest hospital to your place of residence, etc. Whenever they were asking questions we weren’t allowed to talk to one another and we had to answer for ourselves!! It was crazy but I was so thankful that they had that protocol!!!

I've forgotten my ID for flying and it's super fun, you get questioned by the airport security, they go through your bag, treat you like a criminal, good times. Really makes you feel like the main character.

One time my sim went to a restaurant before college classes and was doing homework while waiting for the food. Someone died of old age even before she got her food. Needless to say, she never finished her homework and missed her class

My sister and I traveled to Sydney Australia, (we live in NZ). So had to use passports, get foreign cash as using our bank cards would incur massive overseas fees etc. after arriving we got a train from the airport to the centre city, then were to get another to our hotel. Upon going to buy a second ticket my sister realised she left her wallet on the first train. It had all our money for the trip, her passport etc. we had to try and contact a ticket checker on that train and just hope it was handed in and someone hadn’t walked off with all our cash. Thankfully whoever found it, was a Saint, they saw the airplane ticket we had just used, contacted the airline, who then had our details and could tell us where to collect it from

13:00 Actually it makes perfect sense to me, to have a back door with a mail slot on this build. As a commercial lot the sims 4 wouldn't require a mailbox. Even without the residential area, businesses get mail (bills etc). IRL if you had a residential area upstairs you might rent it out or live there yourself full time. Therefore you'd get mail there. Where I live, it's quite common near the city, to have apartments above shops or restaurants etc.

you can actually fly without an ID, had a friend lose her ID on a trip and she still made it home. you just have to go through a whole extra process with TSA where they pull you aside and ask you a bunch of questions. but it's a pain and adds a few hours to your trip

I literally pull cat hairs out of my own hair, it literally will just stick to me and tangle in with my hair 🤣 also, ALWAYS double-check baked goods batter before declaring it ready, let it sit a good few seconds and a cat hair SHOULD rise to the top of the mixed batter 🤣 life with cats 💫

Just for future reference because this JUST happened to me a couple of months ago... you CAN board the plane without your ID, you just have to go through extra security and questioning. I had left mine at our hotel so I had to go through this process at the airport, and they asked me a bunch of personal questions and about where I was from, landmarks around my home, etc.

You have to go early and go through exte security but that’s basically it! I lost my ID on a trip to Florida once.

Weird flashback moment, I remember back in the good old days when Kayla was a wee anxious bean in highschool an entire speedbuild was dedicated to her telling us about how she broke her phone while making toast before an AP exam and how upset she was because she never broke her phone before and now this video she starts talking about how she drops her phone all the time.

I ALWAYS have my Sims indefinitely stay at their restaurant or clinic or whatever because it's just so much harder otherwise. It's a bit more annoying with restaurants because I can't really have them use tables but it works

The time I lost my ID and had to fly I had to verify my identity by naming a family member and a landmark near the address on my ID. Very simple process actually.

So I'm from NY and my family went to SC for like two weeks a few years ago so a couple of people drove the 15 hours so our dogs could come, but the rest of us flew. I drove down w my dad and on the way home my brother went so I could fly back. Well my wallet was still in the car and they left at like 3am the day that we were flying out. I had a photo of my ID, and I had to show the TSA people prescriptions and other things I had w me that had my name on it. Then I needed to go through extra TSA screening of both my bag and myself (including a full pat down). But I did eventually get let on the plane lol. Moral is, don't forget your ID but if it happens there's a way around it just annoying to go through.

Build challenge: build community lots with a starter home budget I dont actually know how much a good museum costs in the sims, but it'd be interesting I think

Previous airline worker here (US): At the time (2016), I learned you don't actually need an ID to travel domestically by flight, BUT this will initiate a whole bunch of extra checks at TSA and there's always a change you'll miss your flight through the additional screening.

This looks like the restaurant I did on the same lot a few months ago. I too wanted it to be like an old house converted into a restaurant. Except mine has a bar upstairs and more seating. It's called Cottage flower restaurant (or something like that but the gallery is down so I can't check. If you wanna check it out (or maybe you saw it?) It's from me, hotpinkkt on the gallery. I never promote my stuff ever, and it's the first time but since ours were sooo alike, I thought it was funny! Also on the same lot!

I actually have a story just like Kayla’s! My family hosted thanksgiving at our house like usual. When my grandma’s getting ready to leave she can’t find her keys! We spent over 30 mins looking for them until we gave up for the night. My dad checked the closet again and he finds the keys stuck on a hook, we think they fell out of her jacket pocket and in a 1 in a million chance they got stuck in a place that no one found for hours…such a unlucky lottery to win 🥲 Thanks for reading this! i lost my purse (with my phone & wallet in it) at a wedding and had to fly back without it, they end up pulling you aside and questioning you on your identity for like an hour before they let you through security and it is super fun and not stressful at all :) the kicker is another wedding guest had picked it up by mistake and didn't realize until DAYS LATER but they eventually mailed it to me and i got all my stuff back. glad you didn't have to go through all that though, it is a pain!

I find the mail slot in the back door actually kind of realistic? A lot of old places in europe (and I'm assuming also the US) have those, because the layout switched around a few times, and sometimes used to house multiple families. My aunts farm even has a door like that inside the house, because they added on to the building and left the old door.

Why did I love that ad moment? Something about Kayla having a sponsor feels like how I imagine Jenna marbles would do ads. Because you know she would only do it if it was actually a good product and she felt good supporting it. BRB going to get a new phone case.

*Challenge idea* You should build a house that is 3x3 one floor for a single mum and a toddler and a cat. And the budget it 20,000. When creating the family: Female sim: Young adult, have Wellness aspiration, have the good, loner and perfectionist traits, must like painting, wellness, gardening and cooking but dislike video gaming, writing and mischief. Toddler: Any gender, have the Fussy trait. Cat: any breed, must be loyal and loud and you choose the other one. What I did was to have bunk bed with a toddler bed underneath and slide the pet bed next to the bunk bed. I then put a counter with a with the dream home decorator oven into it and a mini fridge on top. I added a 2 counter island one bit had a dishwasher and a laptop on top and the other was where you could eat. I put the TV opposite the bunk bed and for the bathroom (since I don't have the pack with the tiny shower) I put the bathroom outside but covered it with the beams from get famous and the bamboo plants. I had a very small garden and most of it was trees. When I did it my budget was 20,368 and it took me 3 hour 45 minutes, so yes it is hard. Luxury party admittedly is not a great pack but I personally use the buffet tables all the time. Especially for weddings that I didn’t feel like hiring a cater sim for.

For anyone anxious about flying & losing your ID, there is a process and it isn’t quick but it is possible (domestically). I’m a flight attendant and also have had to do this before getting the job, so don’t worry. Basically, get there early & let the ticket counter agent know you don’t have ID. It’s helpful if you have a credit card, color photos of ID/passport, other photo ID. I had my university ID and credit card with my name on it. They’ll be able to alert TSA. At security, you’ll have to answer a bunch of background info. If you’ve ever had to verify your identity for banking or federal tax info, this is similar. You will also have a more extensive search of your belongings.

You should do a tavern as a community lot with a room or two upstairs and a old bar with cozy food down stairs and a out house maybe a pond to get fishing skills up it would be useful for rags to riches plays and it should be in a more woodsy area like it looks like you walked in and went into the past where this is the only thing left running

Right before Covid (I’m talking like two weeks before everything shut down) I flew to Florida to visit my best friend and I left my wallet at home which is a two hour drive away from the airport. They did let me board but it took 20 extra minutes because they had to verify my identity. The TSA agents were so nice and understanding though!

as someone who lost their ID before a flight I gave TSA my medical insurance card, college ID, and my debit card. They had me go through the full-body scanner/pat-down deal and they manually searched my bag as well as sent it through the detectors. Nerve-wracking for sure, but I was lucky to have enough secondary ID's to get through.

My “didn’t have an ID at the airport” story: I got my DL pretty late; and before you only *needed* your passport for international flights. I’ve only ever needed a student ID while flying with my family, but being 18 now complicated things; my student ID for uni acted as an optional debit card for financial aid returns and such… but BECAUSE that was a case, they wouldn’t accept my ID as an actual ID, but just a debit card. So I was pulled aside and had to answer all my personal information, and they asked me to name a landmark near my house. Thank goodness schools were allowed and I had my former high school on the Main Street behind my neighborhood haha

FYI Simsie: You *can* fly without your ID in the US! It takes a bit longer at security, but I forgot mine in June 2021 and I was still able to fly. And according to the TSA website, this is accurate, and wasn't just a one-time thing for me.
