Maybe it's just me, but I think it's ok if not everything matches. Irl, you may have some furniture pieces given by family members or pieces bought at a pawn shop or something. I think allowing things to be more "imperfect" actually makes it better and more realistic.

In my apartment building everyone gets to have a different front door, since the original ones from early 70s have long been replaced. I have gray door but my neighbours have reddish brown and greenish black respectively. FUN. (if only Sims gave us the choice at least)

City Living should get a refresh like Spa Day. I play in San Myshuno frequently and I think a lot of people do as well. Especially that it's the only "city" world in the game.

It's so crazy to me how differently people see color. Like when Kayla had that greenish wall and she just went "oh that does NOT match." Like no technically it doesn't, but it definitely went well with the colors of the wood and the rug she chose. Personal style is just so cool some times.

I just need simsie just go crazy with packs please. She builds so many lots with base game and I love the creative process she has with just base game but I want to see her at the most creative.

Ok but everyone knows by now you're great at making small apartments or houses for a big family and 2 or 3 tile bathrooms. :) Why not try challenging yourself now try to build a HUGE apartment for 1 or 2 Sims, making it as lavish and opulent, decorated (and cluttered) as much as possible?

Green and pink/red are complimentary colors and absolutely work together!!!! I especially like that mint with the more coral-red pinks. One of the complimentary colors being more pastel and the other being more rich always looks great in my opinion like pastel pink with emerald green or navy blue with sherbet orange! There's a book by josef albers called the interaction of color that I highly recommend. It has detailed written descriptions but it also has picture examples. A lot of the time you'll start to get a little bold with your color choices and it looks really good but then you go back to monochromatic or analagous colors (colors next to each other on the color wheel like blues and greens) because it's safe. I really think a deeper look into color theory would open so many doors for you and your building!!

The apartmant is so niceeeee. Btw I think Kayla shoud do more builds using unlimited packs.

Whenever I'm putting art in a build, I use the Get to Work mannequins to see what would be a realistic height to make sure it's not too low down or too high up - bonus for working for adult and child sims!

I know Simsie's new background/room setup is almost identical to the old one but it looks so much cuter and more cozy and warm now. I just wanna say you did a great job on it Kayla!

Typing motherlode into the search bar has the same energy as sending a screenshot of the convo to the person in the convo instead of the actual person you intended it to be for 😅

Simsie please stop listening to the one or two people in your Twitch chat always asking for base game/limited builds. I think I speak for most of us when I say we all have too many packs and we want to see you use the game to it's full potential even if we can't download it!

When the windows in apartments glitch there is a trick to fix them. Go to the design tool and click on the window frame :)

changing the bed so there’s not too much blue, but making the walls and the bookcase blue 😭😭

HELPFUL TIP: you can use the recolor tool on "broken" windows (the ones that break and show the wall behind them). The recolor tool will reset the window and make it able to be seen through again. its very helpful in apartments because you can't click the windows and they break sometimes. Its also nice if you have a window in a specific spot and don't want to pick it up and try and put it in the same spot again - just use the recolor tool to reset the window! one last thing: I use this tip before saving/uploading a lot to the gallery too - just to make sure everything is in working order. I feel like the sims team making swatches should have just used the same colors for all the wood varieties

The colour palette in this build, especially the living space and entrance area, is so cool. I almost never go for deep reds, this is great inspiration. I really like how she approaches furnishing

usually put bricks behind the kitchen stove. if i can find the fire resistant stuff, that's what i use in the kitchen lol cause my sims seem to like to light stuff on fire XD

This was a really good set of packs to work with! I really liked what you did with their items, it was an interesting combination :) I know people keep saying you don't have to build with limited packs but I think you must enjoy the challenge and I certainly enjoy watching it as to me it is much more like my experience of playing the Sims! I don't have university but I understand only having two expansion packs haha. So if you like them, I would always enjoy watching builds with limited packs!

Please try to fit 8 sims into the smallest apartment I’ve been trying and I can’t do it and make it look good I think it would be funny for you to try do it !!!

I refurbished this apartment a couple weeks ago (or months idk..) and the story line of it was this dad and daughter live in it, the mother died from a sickness and she was a designer. So I furnished it really modern like, but I added some stains and cobwebs to the walls and tables. So it looks a little rundown because the father has been struggling to working two (or more idk) jobs. So he hasn't kept it clean. I told my dad about it and he yelled for my mom to be careful of me lol

I live in a city with loads of flats like this which are pretty much always furnished to the same layout, so it's interesting to see how people who aren't used to them approach them. Turns out, bay windows are just always for dining tables.

I swear the most irritating thing in this game is the fact that NOTHING MATCHES. Hardly any wood tones, hardly any fabrics… 😢😢😢😢 I know there are a few “go-to” matching items I use, but it’s so hard to get without CC

On the topic of matching swatches-- I wish a lot of the Strangerville build items had solid/neutral swatches. I love so many of the items, but 9 times out of 10 I can't use them because the swatches are weird.

It's nice to see Kayla doing an apartment, she has great ideas! I think she should be more secure and not be (or demonstrate being) so afraid to pursue the ideas she has. The idea of use kitchen cabinets to create a TV stand could have worked, the archway in the hall made the space really cozy, it was a good idea. In all the videos I've watched the same happens, really good ideas but insecurity to do it. Be bold Kayla, be brave to do and don't be so afraid! The community will support you. Also, I think your videos would be much more pleasant to watch if there's not so much complaining about stuff. We get it, the counter pieces have the back, the walls are too high, the colors are not what you wanted, and so on.. I actually do believe that even for you it would be so much more enjoyable without so many complaints. I've heard a lot of times about this and there's one phrase, let me write here: "Never waste a second of your life complaining. Complaining doesn't solve problems, it attracts them. The more you complain, the more problems you'll have. And the more you infect other people with your problems. Don't be an infection. Be a cure." . This is so true.. when I watched your videos more frequently, I didn't wanted to play, I was discorage to do so. I started watching Syd Mac, for example, and boom! I've started building again and what a pleasure. And one important thing: no h4te! I'm not whining or wanting to make Kayla to feel bad. This is so good advise that I, myself, received couple years ago and helped me a lot. But after all, I'm just a nobody and Kayla has almost 2M subscribers, go Kayla! Continue to grow and be always a better version of yourself!

As you use City Living, you can have the garbage chutes. FREE, never full, just use a bit of wall space. By the way, the Sims are intelligent enough to use the one in the hallway if they don't have a trash can in the apartment.

I was trying to divide this apartment last week. The placement of the windows and how narrow the apartment is REALLY annoys me when trying to put more than one room.
