Fantastic PR video for the RN, ordered by captain Peter, who hired the best actress Kikie, and handsome, inteligent actor Dan. Thank all of you: Captain Peter, the crew members - my best congratulations to her majesty the Queen Elizabeth II, and two actors as mention above. You agreed to play for free. That is why you are loved among the Uma nation members and their friends. Best wishes, M.

Agree totally, you would need to have paid a PR agency thousands to produce a video anywhere near this quality, I thought it showed the Royal Navy (and Royal Marines before I start getting pelters for missing them out) in a really positive light, going about their daily work. Albion is a unique vessel, which they touched on, with many capabilities...not just projecting power, which is probably its prime function, but also providing humanitarian aid to disaster zones. The Royal Navy may have shrunk somewhat in recent decades, but we should be immensely proud of what remains.

I served on a US Navy destroyer back in the early seventies. And of course a destroyer is a small ship, and I knew this would be much bigger, but I was just awestruck again and again at how vastly larger this ship is. And the technology . . . well, it makes my little boat seem like a relic of the stone age.

yeah. And remember that most navies would consider a destroyer to be a pretty big ship, would be happy to have one or two as flag ships for their fleets.

I didn’t know you were all firefighters but makes sense. You actually sink part of the ship (mind blown 🤯). I loved the tomato 🍅. The ship is enormous, and very clean. The Royal Navy is pristine and efficient. I wonder how often do they clean? The captain was so cool and down to earth. You sometimes forget that these are real people. So thank you again for this human aspect. I loved everything about this. Side note: the guitar player sounded really good. So aces.

That was quite a privilege to be treated as VIPs on the HMS Albion! Capt Laughton must enjoy your vlogs as much as the rest of us! I hope everyone noticed just how clean all the spaces were throughout the ship. Every space must be cleaned thoroughly daily to prevent the infestation of insects or mold and mildew. The R2D2-looking 'gatling gun on a trash can" looks to be similar to the US Navy's CIWS "Phalanx" which puts out an impressive rate of radar-controlled fire (20mm?) at a cruise missile-type target coming in at high speed, or a small cruising sailboat that won't yield to a warship in right of way situations! :) I was hoping Kika's first commands were going to be: "Lt Ohura, open comms to engineering! Scotty, engage the warp drive and prepare to jump to light speed! Then set in the coordinates for, and beam me to the mess deck's soft-serve ice cream dispenser! Spock, can you foresee the logic of a woman Captain? Stardate 2020 March 2, Captain's log: Having just gone where no tiny woman has ever gone!" The large ship's "door' hatches were marked with several large letters painted on them. All the hatches marked with a 'Z' are designated to be closed and LOCKED when going to General Quarters, which is a 'battle-ready' condition. They are special water-tight hatches and critical to survival of the war-fighting capabilities of the ship, and so once condition 'Z'ebra is set throughout the ship under battle conditions (or drills) those doors may not be reopened until the condition is unset. So it's good to know where the heads are in each compartment! So if the ship's hull is breached during an attack, water coming into the ship will be contained by those hatches at the expense of those crew behind them to save the entire ship from sinking. Think of it as being similar in purpose to the watertight bulkheads normally found behind the bow's chainlocker for the same purpose (collisions). The Amels (SV Delos) have several watertight bulkheads throughout their boats to help keep it afloat if rammed by another boat or it strikes a partially submerged shipping container. Did they tell you what to blur out for security reasons or did they have to do all the editing?

Simply awesome ! Unique adventure for any civilian ! Shall we call you Admiral Kika now ? And Dr Spoock, aka Dan ? Wonderful vid ! You two rock, kiddos ! Imaginr, being VIP visitors on an hypertech ship, I would have thousands questions !! I'm 67, son of a WW2 veteran sailor/engineer on HMS Giffard, a "small" corvette, the most endangered class of war ships, on duty to chase/destroy nazi submarines. My late father would have been thrilled to see and analize that hybrid power system. RIP Father, my hero.

If you thought that was loud, I once served duty as boiler monitor aboard a 70 yr old vintage WW2 corvette during a joint amphibious landing exercise, ear protection only made the vibration worse. By the time my shift ended, I felt like someone had held a jackhammer to my ear all day. This brought back memories, from shooting the fantail .50 cal to watching the 40mm and 105mm guns shake the rust off the old ship's ceiling and walls during the GunnEx. That old corvette was decommissioned a year later.

Paul Brochner I agree there is some luck involved, however it seems too many people give up their own agency and minimize the hard work of others by saying, “ I wish I could be an entrepreneur or I wish I could go sailing those people who do it are so lucky.” I felt that when someone told me how lucky i was to live on my boat for eight years they minimized all the hard work and the sacrifices(no couch buying) that it took to get there. Same thing in my business. To some people I was incredibly lucky, but those same people would only work eight hours a day five days a week.

Having served on two of the largest aircraft carriers I know what you went through travelling the different levels. I really enjoyed the way you ended the video, I was a Star Trek fan.

When I was 5 or 6 my parents had a friend who was stationed on a destroyer. When the ship came into Alameda (where they keep the nuclear wessles) we were invited on a tour. The captain let me sit in his seat and use his giant binoculars. I was very excited when I saw an airplane.

The captain must be a hardcore fan of your channel. Usually naval vessels or military bases /other installations are not so welcoming towards people whose purpose is to shoot and publish video. Most vessels of our navy are smaller than those landing craft of the RN... :) But our waters are much more shallow too... res nco

Great to see the Royal Navy crew looking so slim and fit. Keen as mustard, too. Terrific video.

15:12 I find it funny how nervy the officer was in the beginning and how he warmed up after some questions ;-) Kika defusing the situation with her disarming interview style :-) This segment was a blast ! ;-) Also "Nope!" :-)

Brought back special memories for me. My Dad served in the RN for 22 years and the few times I got tours of his ship was so exciting as a child. He passed away a few years ago, but when I watched your video I felt a certain pride and connection with him. Thank you for sharing.

Favourite part? "NOPE". Such a relatable addition. Also, from this, I've discovered that these ships are mostly ladders / staircases. Not just from the editing but from all of the out of breath conversations!

WOW! Thank you guys for sharing this journey with us. Did you wear a pedometer while onboard? It appears you walked miles plus all the stairs/ladders. I bet the landing craft ride was awesome. I'm jealous to have missed this trip. Again, thanks 4 sharing :-) Jay
