Kris, could you please do a battery degradation test on your e-tron? It would be interesting to see how much a fast charging e-tron would suffer in terms of degradation to the battery compare to a car who have mostly AC charged. Keep up the good work!

You appeared so comfortable when the status of battery is zero. I like to see you keep doing it in other EVs. The result like this would be more insightful information for the new ev buyers, so we can be aware of each EV's capability. Thank you for your hard work on making these amazing videos! Your e-tron is really badass and appears it won't let you down. :)

Great video Kris and good to see that the e-Tron performs so well, and I am sure you must feel lucky to be back in a decent car. Now I am wondering if an EQC (which I drive) is capable to achieve the same results, well ... I'm going to do a similar test like yours and find out how far I get, can I beat you? Hi. I'm not very good at English so if it's a little silly via google you know. My question when I watch the film is that you drive with your own profile. What are your preferences in it? I drove last today - 3 and 2.4 in consumption so I thought that maybe it was possible to get it down a bit more. Thanks for a great movie. / Bengt

I don't know Kris' settings in Individual mode. The most efficient will however always be Efficient mode, where you lower the car as much as possible, enable AC Eco and limit the power output, with the press of a button. If you don't like how the car rides in this mode, I would suggest using Dynamic mode to lower the car just a little bit, then switch to Drive instead of Sport and enable AC Eco (green) manually. Auto/Individual is still better than Comfort, because it lowers the car earlier, at motorway speeds, but the gains are minimal. Personally I use Comfort a lot.. 😀 If you have the 4-zone AC and no passengers, consider turning it off in the rear. This is default in eg. Model 3, and it won't affect the comfort in the front seats noticeably. Don't be afraid to use seat- and steering wheel heating, if you have it. Lastly, adjust your tire pressure when the temperature drops. Aim for 2,8-3,0 bar depending on load. 🙂

@@KrisRifa At the most.. :-) You have only 25% power left at 13:55 That's pretty low! Actually, I've never seen anyone drive the e-tron this far on 0%... Thank you for exploring. 😊 Consider finding a safer spot next time? 😄 BTW: You probably know, but when it stops, you can restart the car a couple of times- and drive a few hundered meters before it dies completely. And hopefully be able to pull over at a safe place.

@@bavariancarenthusiast2722 I don’t understand the logic of the car companies. ‘We *have* to make an EV but don’t really want to. How do we discourage people from migrating from our ICE cars? How about making it as uneconomical as possible so people won’t want it whilst there’s a petrol or diesel alternative.’
@bavariancarenthusiast2722
@bavariancarenthusiast2722 3 жыл бұрын
@@SirHackaL0t. that's quite easy - they know their customers they want to sell to. SUV´s are the best selling cars right now - most of the new EV´s are SUV´s. In this case Audi wants to sell to their customers first. Means they need to provide excellent build quality, perceived luxury first - that's heavier always. They sell the Etron very well, means it works. Same thing VW - the ID3 or ID4 is designed to VW customer first - now driving Golf / Touareg and will be buying EV from VW.

Have you ever seen an ICE car routinely meeting WLTP or NEDC stated mileage? Same with EVs. Consumption figures or range are obtained in the lab conditions, and real driving experience may vary depending on multiple factors. You may get your car checked by the dealer to make sure it is in a good working order though. But not meeting the claimed range... I have a hard time believing it can make a case for a return.

Yes but I noticed the speed on dual carriageways in the vid was 49 mph, no one in the UK drives 49 on any duel carriageway, so if you drive at a half decent speed in the UK that's probably not far off your right range. talked to a Guy that borrowed one and drove it like he stole it, just like he does his Range Rover, and he reckoned it would have run out by 160 miles, and he had problems charging it, he said he couldn't believe anyone would buy one in the UK
@omelvold
@omelvold 3 жыл бұрын
@@nigelbeamish2845 Do you have minus 10 degrees Celcius (14 F) in the UK very often? Many roads with over 2000 ft elevation? The guy you talked to couldn't believe anyone would buy one in the UK because he obviously doesn't like EV's and doesn't know understand how the GOM (guess'o meter) in the e-tron works. To be able to go only 160 miles (320 Wh/km average), you'd have to hammer it on the motorway- only. Way over the speed limit of 70 mph. Last time I checked though, UK have quite a lot of narrow, winding, bumpy country roads. And the motorways suffer from heavy traffic, bringing the average speed down. Perfect for the e-tron in daily life. 😉 A few other examples of why people would buy the e-tron in the UK: - You can go from London to Manchester in winter (5C/41F, head wind and wet road), _averaging_ 10% over the speed limit GPS speed, with great comfort and only one 12 minute charging stop: abetterrouteplanner.com/?plan_uuid=0505490c-a814-410f-8812-437913836a97 - You can go from London to St. Ives in summer, 10% over the speed limit GPS speed, with great comfort and only one 25 minute charging stop: abetterrouteplanner.com/?plan_uuid=5e152214-832c-4003-8852-c15263f427f5 - You can go from Nottingham to Norwich- and back again, _without charging,_ with great comfort. abetterrouteplanner.com/?plan_uuid=7c687e60-810f-47c6-9581-6790ca54244a

@Visual UK Have you tried to drive more than 170 miles, or are you referring to the instant range you see in the instrument cluster in the morning? This value will change if you enter a destination in the navigation. (TIP: You can then also see the estimated battery percentage on arrival in the route planner, just press the "checkered flag" in the navigation.) Another question, what kind of rims and tires do you have? Is it the 21-inch?

The Germans expect this range with 150 or 200 km/h in Winter ;-) They would not drive 50 or 70 km/h ;) You said at 9:50 that you did not drive below the speed limit, but you drove with 80 in the 110 or 120 zone on your way up. That was far below the speed limit. And you drove with 60 on the 80 zones of the country roads on the way up. At 11:26 you drive with 60 in the 70 zone if I see it correctly. The others are faster and Germans don't drive slower than the rest. So the Germans who are so proud of this car, will never enjoy this range, because they would never enjoy driving so slow ;-)
