something to make up for the cleanse: since you dont need the prot from stone spirit or invigorating bond, you can get the traited frost spirit for 6 cleanses + resolution, storm for 400cc and water spirit for ranged heal 2 times + vigor, and 10 man res for the elite, but at the cost of using staff ambush and mace 3 more frequently than needed. something else about the "swapping off cd for boons" since you get 20s quick each time you use both ambushes, you can camp a set for some time and use its ambush off cd and leaving the other set for when you need it, in that case earth spirit could work for prot if planning to camp for too long. also, its better to have the pet unleashed than yourself on heals, it gives you a damage resistance and lets you access the ambushes faster. quickdraw on untamed its more consistent than on druid since you are only swapping between 2 sets instead of 2 sets and astral it is as flexible as a druid, can do a couple niches like proj block and boonrips with ease but the lack of stab hurts it

Great guide, Muk! One thing I would add would be to always proc Force of Nature when you're swapped to mace. It's fairly easy on this build, since you get a free stack of Nature's Strenght on mace ambush and another pretty much free if you have Quick Draw equipped. This way you get an additional mace 3 for cc and protection, or mace 2 for healing every time you're on mace. Not to mention the 25% bonus to dmg and healing for 5 seconds. You can then freely swap to staff since Nature's Strenght goes on a 10s cooldown. I noticed you sometimes did this in the short gameplay fragments, but not on the training golem. Hope this helps!

Minor thing to bring up: With all the Boon Strip, an option for relic to boost your burst could be the Relic of Nourys, which gives you a Mace-style big-boi boost. And since Untamed has so much Boon Strip, you have a really solid way to get that boost pretty consistently.

12:40 Yep: running Boneskiner with a staff weilding untammed in the party is what made me definitively deactivate all players visual effects, because it killed me many times.

the best part of this is that if you normally play druid but your group needs a quick heal instead you can just play this with the same gear

I think the statement “nothing in Untamed utility skills were designed to be a support” is more representative of GW2’s design of having no hard Heal-Tank-DPS trinity but Untamed healer can still fulfill the role of boon support in instanced content. Are there “better” healers? Yes, Druid, Scourge and Chrono are considered the best healers right now but Heal Untamed can get the job done :).

Great points, im crying for more stability and skills for ranger for years now.. its always a sad feeling when i go to some many fights knowing so many other supports are better pick just bcs of better support tools for the job

Mace is cool yes, still gonna protect double staff here, please give it a chance again - it's different than half year ago, due to ez might on ambush via quick trait. Mentioned heal pulse - big heal, and less heal for a moment, then big heal on ambush, and again lower... Mace counter that on mace skills - while staff, our every ambush (that ugly green fog that blinds everyone and everything) - it's pulsing healing over some time! it' last a moment. Quick Draw trait - missed in vid - reduces cd of one skill use after swap - pairs great with staff5 for really big uptime anti projectile wall, that also gives easy regen, and can be blasted by staff3 - with alac, this pairs on 10s wep swap rotation (I'm adding 1 extra sec to base 9sec swap cd, coz 1st ambush takes a moment too). Quick Draw trait is also a part of mace rotation. Condi cleans - Frost Spirit! Trap heal is nice, sure, and have Trapper's Expertise trait, but spirits have Nature's Vengeance traits, that makes Frost Spirit a source of permanent resolution. Mentioner Nature's Vengeance trait also makes Water Spirit great for vigor (to counter losing it from horn), Stone and Storm do some nice tricks now too. Without horn, Windborne Notes trait is meh, we can pick Spirited Arrival - to close the gap of some missing might (ambushes alone gives ~19-20 stacks). Sun Spirit is also an option, but it may be overkill already. Wellspring trait of Nature magic - like 150 extra healing power, also an option next to extra ress power from pet once a 60s cd. Pets - as we already have covered might by other options, Stalker goes away... White Moa! One more heal on demand next to Frost Aura! Second pet can be pure cc Gazelle, maybe Sky-Chak. Super ez to learn for beginner/lazy/low-intensifies. Ah yeah, still no stab. Even more blind everyone everywhere too.

I am a returning player that's been mostly AFK since launch. I played a bit of HoT when it came out, then beat it just before PoF came out, played and finished PoF, and then AFK'd until the end of 2023 when I found out some folks I work with were playing and that gave me people to play with again. This past year I've spent a ton of time learning about accessibility for work. To your point about the green fields and the red circles, SO. MANY. THINGS. about the GW2 UI and the way that information is conveyed is beyond unacceptable. Numerous instances of colors very similar to one another overlapping on ground icons and buff icons, the size of buff icons and overload of information in the bottom right buff bar, you name it. The UI and the way information is conveyed needs a lot of work to come up to standard.

13:10 I really disagree. The universal characteristic of healers in MMOs is bloodlust. Everyone who plays healers for any length of time wishes death upon all dps teammates. A healer class that routinely merks teammates in a deniable, “you didn’t dodge” kinda way is what peak healer performance looks like. This is the ideal healer kit. The Blood God cares not from whence the Blood flows!!

I play a lot of heal Untamed and heal Deadeye, mostly to annoy my raid group with green puke and stealths.

I have been playing around with a similar build with soubeast. You lose a lot of self heal switching to staff.

My conspiracy theory is, that since they moved all elite spec weapons to core classes, they will do the same with spells in next expack. This may help some of those support builds - untamed having access to glyphs, renegade to glinth legend, etc. And the expack after that they will split elite specs from class mechanics, that way you can pick a one elite trait line (which at this point isn't that much elite) and class mechanic from other. For example you will be able to play as willbender with firebrand books.

The whole green gas theme of untamed is the entire reason why I never liked this elite spec. It looks terrible and nasty and it's sad because I love how the elite spec is inspired from the GW1 bunny thumper.
