Why is Zhonya's so crucial for Ryze? Just so you can survive a little longer if you're getting pummeled? Doesn't it just prolong it though while delaying getting more powerful offensive and defensive items?

honestly, i stoped building zhoneas and now i get better games cause i dont fall behind in damage, as long as i got ghost and im not perma cc'd. my build path is as following: 1st crown of queen, 2nd arch staff, 3rd morellonomicon, 4th void staff and 5th rabadons death cap and boots between 1st and second item ofc and there i go sorc or ionia depending on what im up against. u will probably sht on this build if u see this coment but i have climbed a fair bit because of it. this build path allowes me to be somewhat of a nasus where when i get void i can take down even their tankiest of tanks. great damage and great movespeed if u also got ghost. you become more of an assasin mage and 1v1s are super easy but it doesnt slow you down too much in team fights either if u have a team that can tank a bit and because of the flux chains. please feel free to comment on this build but please also try it out in like a normals. do a vid on it if u want i mean its free content or just try it for fun if u want to, you dont obviusly have to. but this build over all in my opinion makes ryze more fun to play but also harder to get stuck in corners with cause when u get ur 3rd or 4rth item u will instantly get back in the game. also if u get first blood i tend to get a dark seal.

What minor rune shard will you be taking now after the attack speed buff next patch. I think ability haste shard will be my go to now that attack speed shard doesn't feel as needed.

I like to buy Rab Cap 3rd, but that's because I play norms, so I can be cocky without having to worry too much about being punished. When I go Zhonya's 3rd, it always feels like I fall behind in damage, so it isn't as fun. I'd probably have no choice in ranked though.

We need more matchups videos like the past, I can't win a single game these days against yone.

I think You are overbuying pinks sir Ryze. They are usually not worth 105 gold difference you donate to enemy team. Besides, if you are allowed to place a good pink somewhere, it's most likely that you already have control over this area, especially after sweeper update. Items are so much more important for about a year it just doesen't calculate

i agree, ryze with ghost feels so good for taking over games, and you can get free scaling with boots and biscuits, I almost always go rab third item but right now the dorans changes have made me put ryze down
