I am an African American physical therapist. Red Light Therapy has been used for many purposes for years. It's just not popular due to the cost. I can't speak for the benefits of the skin, but red light works well for pain, inflammation and other medicinal uses. I use my red light on a regular basis and it is effective. A while back I had a very mild ankle strain from doing lots of walking due to an unexpected situation and wearing sandals. I used my red light when I got home and my ankle pain was gone by the morning.

Yes I have a friend who told me that her Dermatologists told her that they see more skin cancer on the hands in France. I am French. And they're pretty sure it's due to LED use for gel bail polishes. Would like to know if the suspicion is the same in the UK.

I am very concerned about these nail treatments where the polish is dried under uv lamps. While most people talk about the dangers of uv light, I think the ingredients that make the gel and acrylic polishes are even more of a danger. I think there must be some sort of uv resin type ingredients in there, which are sensitisers and lead to severe allergic reactions eventually. Like you may be fine using these polishes for years then all of a sudden you are allergic to them. But the allergy in this is not limited to the polish itself.. it makes you allergic to normal chemicals like in skincare etc. i have worked with synthetic polymers and I know how dangerous the sensitisation can be. That’s why I have never had any of these nail treatments. The dangers in this case are for all people, whether Caucasian or skin of colour.

I've been using a red light therapy panel from Future Form Official, which my dermatologist recommended. It's made a noticeable difference in my skin texture and reduced wrinkles. However, I find it frustrating that there's so much conflicting information out there about different skin treatments. It’s hard to know what really works. I am of Indian ethnicity with significant melasma on my cheeks and forehead. I use a red light mask and it hasn’t made my melasma worse. It’s really improved by pores and dark circles. Hope this is helpful to anyone.

Nothing has ever been able to keep acne away for me except red light therapy, not even tretinion. I hyperpigment extremely easily but it didn’t cause any hyperpigmentation for me. Red light therapy is the best thing I have discovered this year

I use the current body red light therapy and I had the same issue, pigmentation would get darker BUT once I stopped using it 5 days a week I saw so much improvement, I now use it on and off 3 sometimes 2 times a week and see so many results. I would never stop using but I also wouldn't use it everyday

Dr V, I have been using the Dr Dennis Gross LED mask almost daily (3 minutes) since 2021 and it has completely changed the quality of my skin. I really love it but now I am nervous that it could cause problems 😩 I don’t have melasma and neither does anyone in my family so maybe I’m in the clear

HEYYY DR. V! In one of ur latest videos (TEEN acne & scars) u mentioned smth abt a moisturiser with retinol. Just wanna clarify, can I use it as a 14 year old? And also how can I get rid of mild but stubborn acne (black heads and sebacous filaments) I am using the ordinary's sally acid recently, but a medical esthetician also recommended the ordinary's gran retanoid 2% emulsion. And also some derms recommended adapelene 0.1% but that isn't available over-the-counter in the country I live in :( so can the gran retanoid be a replacement for the adapelene?? AAAAAAAAHHHH AND ALSO U LOOOOKKK SOOOOOOOOOOO PRETTYYYYY!!!!!!!!!😊

Hi Dr V! I live in Dubai and at the moment the weather is hot and humid, I’m finding it difficult to find a moisturiser that fits me as I have very dry and also very oily skin. I tried your Cerapep for the first time during the winter and that was beautiful but lately it seems to be a bit too much. I also tried the am and pm gel but that’s not hydrating enough to the point that my skin feels tight by midday. I’ve also tried many other products and nothing quite hit the spot… is there any other serum I can use during the summer on top of your am and pm gel to combat the dryness? Many thanks ❤

YES! I used a professional Red Light Therapy "tanning" bed without UV: Beauty Angel C46. What happened? The party that touched the "tanning" bed and started sweating got tanned/hyperpigmented! Now I have a mark on the backside of my body: my back, bum, legs - and I am trying to get rid of it since one month. I wonder if Green Light Therapy is better?
