I tried Roadie early morning orders: OTR or Local, what's best for you?

I got up at 4:45 am to try out the early morning Homedepot Roadie orders. Was it worth it or should I have stayed in bed? I also explain why I chose local work over OTR and why you should think about all the pros and cons for both. As always, do your own research and think for yourself.

I totally agree with you about Roadie. I made over $100. Just. doing CVS orders plus additional money with a HD order.

OTR is dead! In November 2023 the industry suffered the loss of over 2100 authorities. Meaning their where major companies and brokerages alike that went under. 2023 has been a bad year for the transportation industry as a whole. Expenses have climbed out of sight for drivers, Owner Operators and all parties concerned. I honestly believe that with 2024 around the corner it will bring a major blow to transportation. The only way anyone will survive this is to do what you are doing. Less expenses and less money but by time you compare apples to apples being local is much better. Just hang in there stay local and try to develop relationships with more partner carriers.

Yea, local seems to be the least expensive with way less overhead. I know otr works for some people, but your right, I've seen so many drivers looking to move from 18-wheeler to cargo vans and/or local work.

Good video tho I'm in miami now tho I use do spring and Houston Texas when I lived in Texas I would always get roadie and tractor supply. Peace and blessings

Yea, tractor supply is best paying out here but very hard to get.

I really think dollar per mile is a bad metric in some cases because you will make more dependent on the type of freight. Heavy haul drivers make more than a regular truck drivers. And priority matters that’s why those cvs orders pay well. I wish more people understood logistics all around. And I have experience 6 years at a warehouse and 2 years with my own vans. Just my point of view. Keep up the good work.

Yes, so many different ways to look at it. Ultimately, it comes down to each individual. Absolutely right tho, learn the business and work smart is key.

The past 2 weeks have been steadily declining away from getting gigs, let alone multiple gigs. I switched from Jacksonville to Orlando trying to find more gigs... nope only approved for one this morning 😢

Ahhh, didn't think of that. I may try one more time on a sleepless night, but the algorithm is so dumb, I probably still won't get the orders I want.

What about contract on demand local work ?

Very challenging. Most contracts want you committed to 5 or 6 days a week with set schedule. Really hard to get an on-demand contract. They don't exist in my area.

It's gotta be at least 50 to 60 for me to even think about a rodie at 5:30 and I only take a few now but I mostly work 9 or 10 to 2 and I'm done with the rest of the day and as always good vids keep growing and stay blessed 🙏

Dude I be feeling the same way 😂😢. I told you that $2 for pay per stop that I was doing isn’t worth it for them apartments. Sometimes the apt. numbers be out of order and it takes a minute to find them 🤷🏽‍♀️. I see the Walmart blocks and Hello Fresh on Roadie but I’m afraid to try them 😂. I’d rather get paid that $12 to deliver to an apartment than $2. I hate waiting in line with the customers at Discount Tires, I feel like they should have a separate line for pickup and deliveries. I also tried DeliverThat, it’s hard to get orders, you have to be quick with your fingers. As always, thanks for sharing.

I do Hello Fresh on Mondays and Saturdays thru my carrier and when I say I make bank those day. I just made $465 on Monday. See if you can find the carrier in your area who has them. 💰💰💰
