I'd like everyone who races to have the same sort of 'trail manners' as Mackey. Y'all are both an inspiration to anyone who races, or rides. Thanks for doing this channel and putting up with chest packs and all the extra stress that puts on your body to bring us these awesome videos!

Best part was at 21'38" when Syd yelled out on course, "Go Mom!" Just think about that: A bike race and one's mom is in it. A moment to treasure.

I have gotten bored with a lot of the MTB channels that I used to LOVE to watch. However, I am enjoying your channel more and more these days. I think it is the behind the scenes of pro racers, as well as the dynamic of the husband and wife aspect, along with the whole family involvement in your quest through the maze of life. Keep it up, and God be with you.

I am just in awe of you both. This one got me similar to the Everesting video. Macky, I don’t know how you willed yourself in before cutoff. And Syd, your on-bike speech as you began your last lap brought tears to my eyes. “This is why I’m here.” You two are total badasses and legends of the sport, and are an inspiration to me, my son, and many others.

Well.... I love the effort, the pressure, the pain, the hardship, the mental battle, the passion, the respect for each other “team”, the respect towards other racers on trail under such pressure. You guys were an inspiration honestly. I liked how you edited this video. The cuts between on-bike scenes and off-bike scenes really captured the mood of the race. Syd, your pain in the moment of that call from Mackey was intense. So much mixed emotion. It’s good to know your limits, and then that afforded you a final lap. Then you guys took first. Made a plan and stuck to it despite the hurt (physical/mental/emotional) and accomplished it! Thanks for taking us along.

I have to give Macky some praise. 1. there were times where I felt like people should have gotten out of his way faster than they did, but he remained calm was still gracious when they let him pass. I was getting frustrated and I'm sitting on my butt not doing any work! 2. Macky dug deep to complete his final lap getting in just under the cut off, and still gave Sid an out. I know, if she said I can't he still would have shown her nothing but love and support. Great qualities Macky! I'm not only learning how to be a better MTBer but a better person too!

Even through the pain and hardship, the magic is here, still and always. When this hurtship (i know, not a real word) is over, please take a moment and look at all that is your work. You guys ride amazing bikes, at incredible locals and race stupid crazy amazing tracks. You hurt, sweat... somehow you keep the camera rolling and comment your rides; your freakin RACES (anyone ever told you to manage your breathing?). You edit videos and drive all around the bloody world...I am baffled as to how you manage this. I truly am in Awe at your channel guys. I've been here a long time, and i keep coming back, for exactly this. I was holding my breath at the 6:00 cutoff. I was breathing super heavy as Syd somehow found amazing strength to finish another lap. A +1 LAP!!. I mean come on! Great stuff. Very happy for you!

I once did a Three Person 12 hr race in 1999 that started at high noon in July. It was 102°, no wind, and it was dry and dusty.....I had never raced ever, but it was the most fun and misery combined, 22 Teams started and only 10 finished. We got 4th. Macky tenacity is amazing, even when feeling horribly tired, he keeps a great attitude. Great job Syd for going for it 100% Congratulations on the Win!

12 hour duos are brutal...as I've done at this race many times. Trying to balance speed and endurance every other hour is tough. nice work. (also that 1st lap sucks..total conga line) One piece of advice that has helped me in endurance when you're on the harder/slower laps near the end: smile, you're still on your bike!

I am 53, I raced in my early 30s (amateur beginner) and thoroughly enjoy watching you two out there. I stopped when I caught Lyme disease at a race at Northstar in Tahoe. That’s a long story. Watching your footage is a ton of fun. When Mackie (sp) is at full throttle I can really feel it. He’s got the speed I always wished I’d had! If I had, I wouldn’t have been in beginner class. Thanks for sharing! Keep it up and I’ll keep watching. And it makes me want a Niner.

Hindsight 20/20, If you KNEW Macky was going to have to do a double lap, he should have done it on his first two laps. That way he's fresh and full of calories and a double will be way easier/faster than late in the day. That's what makes this kind of racing so cool - you pick a strategy and have to stick with it. You have no idea if he'll need to do a double or not until you get to the end. So exciting!

Favorite 24hr race memory is from 2009 of Big Bear, WV. A solo rider came in at around 4 am. Guy crashed about 3 miles before the end of his lap. On the course that year the last 2 miles were some skinny rock track. So when this dude crashed, he broke the saddle off his bike, AND LEFT THE SEAT POST UP. The man stood and peddaled on a pogo stick off doom. 24hr races are wild!

For a while in Australia we had a race 'Mont 24'. A 24hr relay race, approx 20km loops, teams of 4 or 6 in multiple categories. An amazing weekend, race, eat, rest (sleep), do it all again. 3000 riders, about 600 on the track at any one time, approx one every 30m. Very busy intense riding, passing and being passed many times on a lap. Great days

In Macky's Hunt for Hangover video, he mentioned how the moment he truly overcame his injury was the moment he decided to ride Hangover for a second time in one day. You may not feel it now, but Syd, I feel like this was that moment for you. You've been through so much over these past couple years, and understandably have much doubt about your abilities. To put all that aside and go out for that last lap when it would have been easier not to says much about your mental strength. I only started watching your channel as you were in the thick of your recovery. The first time I saw you actually out on a bike, I got a bit choked up, and a bit teary eyed. That happened again watching this one. So for whatever it's worth from an internet stranger, I very much admire you, Syd, and I'm proud of all that you've accomplished.
