I also was a 1000h mouse player who recently swapped to tablet. I was getting very frustrated with mouse drift and my aim being inconsistent, so I bought the CTL-472 about 2 weeks ago. I got used to the tablet very quickly, setting my first 300pp with tablet after 2 hours and 400pp after only 6 hours. (my top play with mouse was 461). Safe to say that I will be sticking with tablet from now on but at the end of the day, just play with whatever feels most comfortable for you.

Idk why but playing tablet after working out and doing arms makes me play better, idk how it works but i enjoy the workout buff

the tape on the pen you showed at 2:17 is the same type of tape I've got on my taiko bachi, and I'd recommend getting some given the chance. I tend to have pretty sweaty hands whilst playing, and the tape is like SUPER grippy, to the point that the sweat doesnt really affect my grip on the sticks. I'm pretty sure it's like tennis tape or something highly recommend

For me personally, a noob 6 digit with 94 hours, moving to tablet brought me from 700k to 362k (now) , in around 30 ish days. i guess this is because my handwriting is good (?), And my hand-eye coordination is already decent from the get-go. But seeing higher rank players play with mouse is also very cool 👍🏻. Good video.

i think the biggest struggle switching from tablet to mouse is grip, ive played so much with tablet and still have not found a comfortable grip

I would suggest experimenting more with filters rather than playing with area but thats just me

And here I am who switched to tablet after a year of playing the game only to eventually come back to mouse to play only with it because it often hurts with keyboard

i played for around 200 hours with mouse until about 500k~, then the pp rework brought me to 380k, severely overranking me and i saw no progress with my rank. after months of trying to rank up and quitting, i got a tablet and learned to play full area. in ~30 hours, i’ve set my first 200pp nomod play, as well as some 180 and 160s, bringing me to 192k. in my opinion, mouse seems easier at first because you’re used to using that normally, but tablet you can adjust to it in under a week.

I hated playing osu on my g502 since it was way too heavy. Got a tablet, it was nice when I first started, but I struggled with finding a good grip and my hand would lose feeling in my finger tips. I would also get really bad accuracy on big jumps while hovering. I started dragging which helped a TON much accuracy. I’m talking like failing 4 star to passing 5.5 eventually found my comfortable grip (took 2 months) and my muscles developed as well, it became comfortable over time And recently I had a breakthrough with my sensitivity and physical technique holding my pen, allowing me to hit crazy jumps. You gotta push through, or it won’t ever happen, which might be rough. It depends if you want it that badly or not. I would suggest you buy a lighter mouse instead lol

I prefer mouse after trying tablet so I put a tablet pen inside of a mouse shell to play mouse with absolute positioning and I could FC 5 star stuff with that playstyle but on harder patterns I struggled with precision badly and I'm not sure why lol I don't think it's viable

The changing your area for different maps is bad for your consistency, using an area for all patterns is better

Tablet feels so much better compared to mouse but I cannot aim with the tablet at all, no matter what area I choose it always feels slippery and hard to aim

The lag is something with the tablet driver. I had it too so I talked to the maker of the tabletdriver and he told me that it's the smoothing filter and windows 11

kinda late to the video but yeah why not comment now. I'll be getting my tablet in around a week or two from now (It's an xp pen g640, rev A), been a mouse player for 300 hours but I had used tablet earlier in my career (Huion H420, around 500k) until I chew the pen so much it broke mid multi match. Like I said before I had 300 hours on mouse and I have over 320 hours on Osu in general (I am 36k) so yeah, I'll update when I get my tablet, see you next time.
