Maybe try another leave in. I love this gel, haven't look back at eco yet. I think camille rose or or mielle organics leave ins might work better. Cantu doesn't have the best ingredient. KZfaqr Will on the whim uses shea moisturize black Jamaican leave in with it ,and he swears by the combo. They also have a wet line green and blue i heard those are even better

Candice Jones It’s one of my favorite gels 🤷🏾♀️ It’s a heavy gel so it’s going to weigh your hair down initially, but your curls should bounce back once they’re dry .. personally I don’t mind the crunch b/c that lets me know it’ll last & I know it’ll go away as the days pass .. I guess it just depends on the person tho

It could be the curly cream. I cannot use Cantu nothing. Dries my hair. Try the gel again with a different product.

Try the Strengthening Jamaican black castor oil leave in by Shea Moist under I did it 4 days ago and my curls are still moist , soft and poppin but I do have type 4 hair so idk if that makes a difference 🤷🏿♀️

Try using it on really wet hair like water still dripping down your face/ neck and try a different leave in one you really love that passes the “mix test” with the gel

Just did my first wash and go with this gel 2 days ago (also inspired by happycyrlhappygurl) and like u both I’m an ECO lover too! But GIRL!!! When I tell u the hold this gel has.....it’s still crunchy on day 2 and I’ve used the oil to break the cast and my hair is still crunchy! Which I don’t mind too much because I hate frizz! Also Cantu never works with my hair, weighs it down and like u it made my hair greasy! I used the Ors leave in (green and white jar--shout out jewejewebee ) which works GREAT!!! My hair feels great, not dry, and I think the fact that it’s still crunchy means I may get more days out of this style....🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽....try another leave in and use less!!!! Great content as always! ❤️the shirt!

That gel is really good. I believe it's the cantu. I use it with Shea moisture curling smoothie. It pairs well with all the Shea moisture hair moisturizers.

The Cantu curling cream is my life! I always do Twist out styles with it and it keeps my hair soft and the curls last! Never tried a gel wash and go but after this video I’ll stick to my Cantu routine. Btw Happy New Year!

I actually love the wetline gel, for me it gives my hair super defined curls. My only problem is once it dries it leaves my hair crunchy...but when I was watching Bri Hall's video she suggested putting a leave in on first and then the wetline 😊so I'mma try it that way.

I like this gel a lot. I had very good results with a leave in conditioner (Paul Mitchell The Conditioner, Cantu coconut curling cream topped with Wetline. I applied my leave in and the coconut curling cream on soaking wet hair inside the shower. For my current wash and go, I used the Texture ID styling cream and the Wetline. I also spray with more water after applying my products and get the best results that way.

I love love love this gel!! I use the tgin green tea leave in with it and it gives me bomb results! I would suggest not using the Cantu with it, use a leave in that you really like because the gel mixes with pretty much everything that I’ve put it with. Also wet your hair more when using this gel because it is heavy but in my opinion it is more moisturizing than eco gel. But yes try with a different leave in and see how you feel about it 😊

Finally, a different viewpoint... Everybody raves about this gel, but it's just ok to me. When it's wet it looks AMAZING, but when it dries, my hair tends to look somewhat frizzy & dull. I still use it on my puff sometimes, tho.

I had a similar problem with this gel. I used it on my hair for the first time yesterday with the Shea moister curl enhancing smoothie and my wash n go turned out really frizzy so ima try again with a different product because everyone else seems to get really good results and definition.

I use a Denman brush on my daughter's hair when I want her curls to be defined and I always make sure the hair is wet first with no product in it and then I put that same amount of cream that you put on that one finger I mix it in my hands and put it on the whole hair I don't keep adding it in because of all the weigh down and start turning white when I add the gel... and I do not use Cantu

The time I used the coconut curling cream, it had my hair feeling greasy & weighed down 🙅🏾♀️ & Wetline is already a thick, heavy gel (for my mostly fine strands at least lol). It may work better for you with a lightweight leave in, hun (although my first day hair tends to still be pretty flat with it lol) but your hair was still popping 💁🏾♀️💕

I love this gel, I started using it about a month ago and I tried it as a wash n go by itself; hella definition. I just did some mini twists earlier today with the Curls Twist & Shout cream and they’re holding. The best way to use it for me is in small sections and thoroughly saturate them before applying the gel because it begins clumping almost immediately! I also tried it with the Cantu curl activator and I don’t even like Cantu, but with the gel it had me right

I used the exact same products and had to put the front up in a topknot😂😂😂 but I would suggest use a lighter leave in and then try the gel again because it would work a lot better

I’m so sad that your hair didn’t cooperate with this gel 😩. Your hair came out BOMB as usual! My hair loves it! I like the heavy thick feeling of the gel and my wash and gos last for at least 5 days when I use this gel. I used the same leave in and that gel and it came out amazing but I used oil after the leave in.

i do like the wetline gel but its not my favorite gel either, my new favorite gel is the eco cannibis sativia oil gel. the weline gel is iffy, like sometimes it gives me a good wash and go then other times my hair is frizzy. it really wasnt what i expected it to be being that everyone was raving about it but i mean like i said i do like it. it did do a good job slicking back my hair and my edges held down all day

You should use the Wetline green kind because the consistency is more looser than the white kind. The white gel is much thicker. The blue one is like a medium hold.

I live by Wetline X-treme. It probably just didn't mix well with the Cantu. Try it again with a different product. It gives great hold and definition if used with the right product.

This gel makes it really hard to clump your curls and run your fingers though them when trying to make the curls pop. It’s like it doesn’t have slip like eco styler. It’s really dry and hard to rake through the curls with your hands

It's crazy because it's heavy for some hair texture than others cause my girl Traeh on KZfaq she just recently did a video and it wasn't very heavy but wasn't too watery either. And also it was stingy and stayed straight with gel because (of course like you mention) that heat damage

OMG! It did the same thing to my hair last night. I used Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus Hair Milk as my leave-in, but the gel just didn't work well with it and it works with pretty much all gels. So, I don't know. Parts of my hair are frizzy and other parts are crunchy even after oil. It was not a successful wash and go. Eco is better for my wash and gos, and I have used the Wetline gel twice and got the same result. So, I don't know.Also, the hair milk passed the "mix" test.

I would say try using it again with a leave in product you already know works well with your hair that way you can really tell if the gel is good or not.

I definitely think it’s what you used with the gel. Try another product, Cantu has alcohol in it so that may be why you got dry results.

@@Bycandicejones hmm... 🤔 that's so strange because I've used wetline underneath a lot of leave ins/ curl creams and only 2 haven't worked which was the curl enhancing smothie by shea moisture and the giovanni leave ins. For me it really works with Garnier fructis butter cream leave in treatment. I also put a bit of oil sometimes, like in the winter, for added moisture and longevity. Nit sure if this helps but hopefully it does! I vouch so hard for wetline cause it has replaced eco for me and become a staple for my wash n gos.

WELp, I am for sure not straightening my hair. I loved your curls before the heat damage, they looked almost identical to mine. I would recommend a big chop, but it seems your roots were more affected than the ends of your hair.

your hair doesnt even look wet .... lol try it on soaking wet hair thats how i use this gel and i use it with the cantu curling cream and it comes out bomb when it dries . Also it doesnt look like you got your roots very well

Next time make sure your hair is soaking wet and apply moisturizer on top.

This gel sucks ass sis. I feel like some hype things up just for the views. I tried it and my scalp instantly started burning n the hold was iiiiii8 n my hair was dull. Eco was wayyyyyy betta I just wish they didn't contain protein.
