The reason the first one is such an easy victory is because komodo has no space available and it lets the player attack relentlessly while sacrificing material because the engine itself would otherwise would win harder from the bishops side if it doesn't. It basically tries to loose as gracefully as possible because it knows it should be loosing instead of trying to create technical difficulties and letting the player find the win.

Nice idea for a video! With bishops vs knights I think you mainly want to open the position up and maintain a balance of light and dark-squared bishops. Also helps to try and keep your bishops together or connected in chains.

I like that once it started taking your bishops, it preferentially took one color of bishop, while blocking off the other color.

What if white is the one with knights? Bishops plus initiative is too much advantage. Also can you try playing as black with the knights? Would be interesting to see a human player on the other side.

I think you have to control wbite/black squares bishpos ratio. Keep it close to 1.

It says twelve points, but that is misleading because with space to maneuver and the probability of some pawn blockades, the knights are actually more powerful in this scenario than in a standard game.

I'd multiply the point value of the AI pieces by 1.2-1.5. So when you start trading because you're ahead, maybe actually you were even, and then it gets worse...

These weird scenarios teach us little about real gaming.

Thing is, you want to balance your light-squared bishops and dark-squared bishops. Don't take when you can take. Forget the basic chess principles for these types of chaotic boards. Knights are OK with open positions as long as they can stop passed pawns and defend each other. Bishops are OK with closed positions as long as you have powerful batteries.

Interesting that it is possible that stockfish may become the generic name for any chess engine, just as hoover, bandaid, xerox, google and probably hundreds of other brand names have morphed into the noun and verb of the object/action. I am not sure if stockfish will take over but it is not unreasonable to think it will.

This is so horrendously overpowered for white anyone would even beat stockfish 15 with this. Bishiops beam the board and build powerful batteries while controlling whole diagonals. Knights have to be moved into the range to be effective. Stronger at the start but after some obvious trades this becomes really easy. Keep enough bishops on Board though.

I am actually amazed how poorly a player this high rated approaches these. You'd think they re good at soving puzzles like that. Still its pretty fun to watch
