Tbh I gitta say, i was very skeptical about this game when i first daw screenshots, but now after watching a few gameplays, it's really well made game!

@@domowomo2125the ui is absolutely not why civ is bad lmao. the biggest problem with civ is their total inability to make ai that presents a "believable" challenge. most video game ai "cheats" of course but civ ai does it blatantly and without seeming to even try anything else to create challenge

There's only two things I feel are paper thin in this game, but that seems to me like a given for a Civ style 4x : Governments (choices are incredibly limited, you can't even be an oligarchic republic in the ancient ages) and Religions (no flavors just names). Otherwise, seems like a strong beginning even if it's not as fucking gorgeous to look at as Humankind

Scouting is good! You need scouts to explore locations!

I don't know if scouting is bad - just Tribal Elders is super important to take as your first technology in my opinion - increasing from 2 to 3 knowledge is a massive difference and with Local Reforms in effect its 3 to 4.5. Basically makes the difference between advancing the Age first or not, which imo beating the AI on tech is super important since it gives not just Innovation but also gives you access to much better technologies later in the tech tree

That Truce ability seems incredibly bs. One part of this game I don’t feel happy with is how mana-oriented it is and how the mana abilities are instantaneous

I think the map graphics look a lot better than I remembered from the initial pictures/videos, but I'm not a fan of the UI art. Of course, if the gameplay mechanics are fun then maybe some the UI stuff can be overlooked.

how big is the map? i remember civ maps being pretty big. but all the gameplay of this that ive seen, the map seems pretty small

You can change Civ maps size and amount of empires at game start, and you probably can the same in Millenia. For that reason, neither map is big or small, only what the player chooses the maps to be.

From some Potato McWhiskey vidoes, there doesn't seem to be hard limit or it is very large. Instead it looks like a soft cap via increasing Influence cost. Or maybe rather Influence getting split between more tiles?
