This is how I turned my simple shop wood stove into a bi fuel waste oil burner actually capable of warming the space but yet still able to burn wood when needed.

I set my Harmon TLC 2000 coal stove up to burn waste oil or wood. Technically, it can still do coal, but I don't collect it at the beach anymore. Anyway, I have a four gallon supply bucket. I probably get about 3 hours of burn time from it. I think you might be a little undersized, unless your ok with filling it up often. I also use a natural draft so I don't have to listen to a blower fan constanly. I also like the idea being able to run it with no power in case of an emergency. I can always set up cots in the garage for the family if the house got to cold during a winter outage.

Yeah I know this is old vid. Pretty well done stove. One can add a dimmer switch the fan power line..... and then you get air control too.

They make small fans that sit on top of a wood stove that auto generate their own spin with no electrical input once they heat up. (15 mins) I have them on both of my stoves. It circulates heat silently and they've been running 10 seasons.

I live in a campervan in England and have no electricery, would be nice to have one of these if the fan on top Idea would work.

Great idea! I have watched tons of people converting an old water heater's internal tank into a waste oil burner, but that is so much work. I think it is a way better idea to just convert a woodburning stove, since a brand new wood burning stove at Menards is only $350.

A wad of 100% carbon felt no synthetics. Makes a very good wick of sorts for this exact purpose. This can be a super simple build i love how proper you made it. But for anyone needing a quick fix. A copper line, compression fitting or whatever u can make work and tin can will do the trick. Hole in bottom of can fit tube find somewhere to mound it bend tune sl it will make it to burn chamber smash the shit out of the end. Done. Once heater the oil will seep through the smashed end and boom oil burner.

The end of the line needs to be hot. This enables the oil to reach its vapor point allowing it to burn effectively.

How long does a tank of oil burn for??? Waste motor oil?? Vegetable oil?

My friends and family dump their oil from oil changes in a 55 gallon barrel I have. When it gets close to the top I add 5 gallons of gas to thin it and then pump it into my 2 gallon tank on the burner which lasts anywhere from 3 to 6 hours depending on how I adjust the needle valve.

Oxygen. Not enough in the lines to burn the oil. Forget everything you ever learned in movies. Once you start playing with fire you realize how difficult it really is to get blazing.
