They look like central-European tarok deck, except that there is no taroks in the deck, of course. Very good looking.

I, like many others in the comments, have been looking forward to this series. After learning Scopa and Briscola from your videos, they have become two of our most played card games. Our first deck was the Napoletane. Wanting to dive a little deeper we got the Sarde deck next (love the artwork). Can't wait to continue the exploration of the various decks.

Thanks for sticking with the channel, I hope you enjoy the new videos. I’m so happy to hear that the Sarde deck made it into your home, it’s really unique and under used. Keep playing and I’ll keep sharing games.

Grazie! Secondo me ci sono 8-10 mazzi fantastici. Spero che questi video mostreranno quali sono i migliori da possedere. Personalmente, li apprezzo tutti per motivi diversi. A parte il mazzo Bresciane, posso fare a meno di quello. lol

Hi, Chris! Well done on your collection. It is always a good feeling to complete something like that, especially when you get the holy grail that you have been searching for, hahahaha. I have a question for you. You have really turned my interest towards the beauty of Italian cards. The first deck I got was the Siciliane deck, and I love it! The second and third decks, which are on their way, are the Napoletane and Sarde decks. The question is, on some of the decks , I see the words "Extra" or "Super" on the corner. Does this mean anything about the size or style of the decks? Thanks as always for your awesome videos and information!

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it and I’m glad to know that other folks enjoy these awesome cards as much as I do. I myself am not sure what the super and pro labels mean, but I’m hoping that either Dalnegro or Modiano reach out and work with me so we can get their cards in front of the English speaking world.

I've been expecting this series for a long time, very glad that it's here. Can't wait for you to get to the Triestine because that's the only ones I have at home. In Slovenia they're the only ones played anyway.

I'll keep them coming. Anything special you think people should know about the Trieste deck (besides the proverbs on the Aces)? Also what games are most often played in Slovenia. Thanks!

@@Play-In-Games The Triestine deck is actually very interesting tbh as it only has three colours(red, yellow and blue I think). That makes them hard to differentiate tho. Here in Slovenia we normally play with French suited cards and we play games like 66 (Šnops in Slovene) but we also play poker and stuff. Tarock is also very popular. In the coastal region (which was under Italian control in ww2) they use the Triestine deck to play Briscola(Briškola) and Scopa(Škopa).

My circle of friends have been playing Briscola lately, your run through was a big help. I like the short introduction video followed by the more in depth video. My friend and I are mostly of the age where we are starting to care for our parents. I've been learning different games. When I'm comfortable, I teach everyone else. It is a perfect thing. We can talk if we want, but there's no stress in forcing a conversation, which after a tough week is a relief, we're playing a game. Talk, don't talk, it's fine. We're together. I like games that have some history. Partly I just like the richness of that history, but as a social thing, history means lots of good variations to play. I hope that you do get to more variations on each game. I recently ordered a Piemonte tarocco deck, and am happy to see it made a brief appearance. Hope you do get around to tarot games, as I have no idea how to play. I'm using a Mexican forty card deck now and am planning on getting an Italian deck in the near future. So please keep the reviews coming. I've written more than I intended, all I want to say is thanks.

Thanks for such a thoughtful comment and I couldn't agree more about the quiet power of casual card games. Games of strategy and great for mind athletics, but casual games of luck create a nice low stakes, even game play. The best kind of games for spending time with people you enjoy. Keep playing and I hope these games give you more fun, social time!

Try Pinocchio up by Barberini, they keep some behind the register. Less varieties likely but a really great shop with a friendly owner, try Al Sogno - GIOCATTOLI on the west side of Piazza Navona. Buona fortuna!
