Welcome everyone! I am switching to the cancelled Google ARA Modular Android Phone for 30 days! I recently did a small walkthrough video of the Google ARA, but based on the feedback I've received - it wasn't detailed enough! So to be able to make a more proper tour of the Google's Project ARA and everything it could have been and everything Google wanted it to be, I will be switching and using it as much as I can as if it was just released! Wish me luck lol

I think the concept was logical but it was also filled with uncertainty for the developer(Google). They should have introduced it years ago and then it will take years for the trail and error stages to make it widely acceptable for the consumer market. Keep in mind that not all products introduced by the popular brand would be successful example such as a camera phone by Red few years ago. Modular phone concept should have been the first step of reducing waste from the industry and steps before implantable chip introduction in the future.

I never thought of it from a waste reduction perspective, that's a good point! People being able to add a feature of a new phone to their current would have a been a great way to keep people using their phones for longer.

if they would've recycled this idea as tablet they would've had more ease testing new stuff and eventually it could transfered to phones(just like tube TV slimed down into Crystal until it got slim enough to be flexible ect.) also i think tablet users don't fear as much of dropping it and it would've been easier to cover parts so they would fall off.

You can't, I'm afraid. Google cancelled it years ago :/

I am a firm believer it was cancelled because the industry did not want it you would only need replacement parts not a whole new phone thats glued together to make it hard to replace anything
