Blows my mind on How others Think THEY know more about YOU than you. Or that they feel they know what IS or IS NOT best for YOU. I'm not a know-all knife guy.. hell I barely know much about the knives I use. Just that the brands reputation was durable and kept a great edge. I very much enjoy what you bring to the table. You have shown me that there's a better option... may not be able to afford it. People are gonna hate... let's Do what you Do... the majority appreciates what you do.

As long as you're happy with it, who cares what other idiots think. As you pointed out, your money, your choice. Sometimes we buy things just because they're fun. They don't have to be a practical purchase with many uses. We can buy shit for any reason we want. It's our money. I just don't get some of the comments I read either brother. If somebody don't like the knife you're showing, just don't watch the video. They can feel free to click somebody else's link. Why Spend the time and effort to make some dumb ass hateful comment? Interesting video. Sounds like KZfaq is becoming a closed system where some of the people here can only imagine a world of influencers doing fake things to sell things. Hyperreality. Keep buying and using the big knives, man. I like your channel because you use your knives and don’t just get them in the mail from another reviewer just to pass it on to the next like the pocket knife guys do it. I want to watch videos by someone who uses their knives and is excited about them and who records it not someone reacting the a knife 2 seconds after opening the box 30 times a day using the knives they do decide to keep just to open the next round of knives they are reacting to. Your channel is what KZfaq should be. The people who treat it like window shopping and the creators like hand models suck shit.

Such an awesome knife, TOPS has such a big selection and so many awesome knives a buddy has the Armageddon as his chopper and its amazing, Im a big fan of their street scalpel and unzipper. But I want a chopper for out in the bush and am having such a hard time deciding between the El Chete and the storm vector, keep going back and forth, right now my normal dealer had a canada day sale thats running til this friday and the storm vector is bascially $100 off while the El Chete is not but have been leaning towards the El Chete as the geometry/weight distribution just looks like it kills as a chopper, I dont need a knife with a point or anything as I have many other knives for other tasks, but as a pure chopper this looks great.

First off, you buying the knife is not stupid, if it's what you like/want there's nothing wrong with that, more power to you, and I hope it serves you well. Now in regard to Tops knives in general, as someone who has been a Tops fan for a long time, it greatly, greatly pains me to say this, but I've come to the conclusion that their steel quality and heat treat is absolutely bottom tier overpriced garbage. Anecdotal reports have been around for a long time that suggested that their heat treat was off, with reports of warped blades and easily bent/broken tips. But channel Joe X has been the final stake in the coffin of Tops knives. Virtually every single Tops knife he has tested has failed in absolute spectacular fashion, even with one's like the Storm Vector having its tip broken off on the very first strike against a piece of glass. Enough solid proof is out there that shows how truly inferior Tops heat treatment is. Which makes me very sad, because the designs, fit and finish of Tops knives is absolute top notch, and that's why I've always been a fan, but seeing how easily they fail again, and again consistently, it's robbed me of all faith I have in their product. Just my 2cents.
@peterbiltknifeguy
@peterbiltknifeguy 8 ай бұрын
I do agree that the heat treatment isn’t the best. I’m not a big fan of the hard edge soft spine thing. It does seem that the hardened edges might be over done and fragile. Time will tell on this one. If it breaks it breaks. Until them I’m going to chop away lol

I told him I didn’t wanna turn the fuel pump up anymore because the rears wouldn’t hold it. So he gets someone else to turn it up. Blows the rear and rips the driveshaft out. If, however, one argued the value vs another knife, offered options, etc ... that's a legit comment.
