Indeed. I'm sure Linda was aware that this was written about someone else (presumably Jane), and Paul's nod to her is a gracious way of saying "That was then, and this is now."

Sometimes a band mate will slightly change a single part of a single measure from the way you have heard so many times in practice or a gig. The change often is so subtle and quickly completed that the band members are the only people that catch it but...it sounded so good in that moment that you just look at each other with wide eyes and huge grins. Those are the moments that you realize all of the practice hours were worth it. Now it is fun time.

I was 15 when the Wings played this tour up in Tacoma Wa. It was huge! I wanted to go sooo bad! My older sister got to see the Beatles as a little girl in 1965. Things got messed up and no way to get way up there. Soooo a friend and I took my 1st car and yea I was just 15 and we attempted to drive ourselves with just my permit from Portland Or. We were scared and excited at the same time. We got pulled over and the Sheriff asked why we were driving and I was honest. He said I understand why you mustered up the nerve to do this but can tell you aren't ready to make this trip yet and he told us to head back and he was going to put a warning so other police would see us if we still tried. He laughed and said this will make a good story when your older and I would love to see Paul McCartney and Wings and that's why I'm letting you go home. So we did and it was a great experience and story.. Still pissed we missed this! lol Also this song and I'll follow the Sun are two of my favorite songs by Paul not just from the Beatles but of all Music.

He was the only one out of the 4 to acknowledge his Beatles past and never looked down on it. He was more like "it was what it was". Plus he's singing songs he wrote; why would you not sing a song you wrote?

@@boru1982 well, their accent might have not been from London, but still English...they came from Liverpool, north england, absolutely different accent......i actually love the beatles's accent, specially george and john....i recognize some faked american accent in some early stuff, specially in their covers.....but their english accent is more than obvious......
