Indeed. I'm sure Linda was aware that this was written about someone else (presumably Jane), and Paul's nod to her is a gracious way of saying "That was then, and this is now."

Paul could write so many great songs that he could throw them away, give them away, or never even record them. Other musicians would give their left arm to be able to write like he does.

Sometimes a band mate will slightly change a single part of a single measure from the way you have heard so many times in practice or a gig. The change often is so subtle and quickly completed that the band members are the only people that catch it but...it sounded so good in that moment that you just look at each other with wide eyes and huge grins. Those are the moments that you realize all of the practice hours were worth it. Now it is fun time.

I was 15 when the Wings played this tour up in Tacoma Wa. It was huge! I wanted to go sooo bad! My older sister got to see the Beatles as a little girl in 1965. Things got messed up and no way to get way up there. Soooo a friend and I took my 1st car and yea I was just 15 and we attempted to drive ourselves with just my permit from Portland Or. We were scared and excited at the same time. We got pulled over and the Sheriff asked why we were driving and I was honest. He said I understand why you mustered up the nerve to do this but can tell you aren't ready to make this trip yet and he told us to head back and he was going to put a warning so other police would see us if we still tried. He laughed and said this will make a good story when your older and I would love to see Paul McCartney and Wings and that's why I'm letting you go home. So we did and it was a great experience and story.. Still pissed we missed this! lol Also this song and I'll follow the Sun are two of my favorite songs by Paul not just from the Beatles but of all Music.

this song completely matches the emotions you went through when you saw the love of your life for the first time and how you felt that entire day... And paul wrote this in the 60's. I've seen her for the first time just 7 years ago.

The cool thing about the Beatles is the little gems in between the monuments of Rock. On this album there were songs like "Help!", "Ticket to Ride" and "Yesterday" - so a song like "ive just seen a face" simply went under, although today it would have made a veritable top ten hit out of it.

Told my husband when we were dating in 1985 that when Paul was on TV I didn't know anyone else was in the room. All of these years later , it's still true. I was 3 when I became a Beatles fan. Did get to see Paul and Linda in concert in 1993 what an AWESOME night !!!!!

I was singing this in 1967 and my dad says " that's a Monkiees song" and I had to put him right as a child of 7. And he still didn't believe me!! It's a lovely song. Typical of those tracks The Beatles always tucked away on albums...in styles you never expect...melody's you adore...sung beautifully by them....only they could do...musically high brow...but accessible...gems that made EVERY album they did a gold mine for your mood...your problems...your relationships...your life. ......." and now....THE BEATLES"!!!! ( ED Sullivan) Thx lads.

I've just seen a face, I can't forget the time or place Where we just met. She's just the girl for me And I want all the world to see We've met, mm-mm-mm-m'mm-mm Had it been another day I might have looked the other way And I'd have never been aware. But as it is I'll dream of her Tonight, di-di-di-di'n'di. Falling, yes I am falling, And she keeps calling Me back again. I have never known The like of this, I've been alone And I have missed things And kept out of sight But other girls were never quite Like this, di-di-di-di'n'di. Falling, yes I am falling, And she keeps calling Me back again. Yeah! Bup-a-lup-bup! Falling, yes I am falling, And she keeps calling Me back again.
