Grapplers are for the manliest of men, willing to live and die by their decisions for that sweet 'W'. There's no running away or hiding behind a wall of projectiles, just you walking your opponents down until you land that grab or you get chipped down. The absolute euphoria of watching that weasely Dhalsim ("He's low tier bro") fall to your piledriver is something every fighting game player should experience once.

LETS GO TAGER VIDEO! Tager is probably one of my favorite characters of all time, genuinely nothing more satisfying than struggling HARD in neutral only to get that magnetism and turn the whole game around. Glad you decided to take a look at the character!

Tager and Rachel are the only 2 fighting game characters I know of that applies unique physics on top of standard mechanics in a fighting game, Blazblue really pushes the possibilities in fighting games.

This was the first FG I played that essentially has a fun-button. Like your characters main mechanics are mostly on one button and the rest supplement that. I love the way this game pulls it off. Tager is my main and its surprising to constantly see people talk about how interesting he is for a grappler, and thats why I fell in love with his gameplay and combos.

Tager is the most fun grappler ever. Keep the BBCF coming.

The trick to fighting Tager (besides simply keeping him at bay with big normals) is to abuse the shit out of jump cancels for your pressure to bait reversal driver

Problem with playing a non-zoner against a grappler is that half your gameplan is usually about getting close enough to make the grabbyhands lunatic's health actually drop. Naturally, grapplers love this. You're doing half their job for them! And THAT, folks, is why rushdown vs grappler is hilariously, frustratingly fun, imo.

I don't know what went through the devs heads when making tager but they made him a great grappler and also making the grappler type able to close the gap between both players making tager a rewarding character to play

My Blazblue PTSD grew to absurd levels when I saw Tager. I still remember getting hit by the Ferris Wheel (if I'm remembering it right, that's what people called it).

Hey JM longtime fan here, starting watching you round the start of DBFZ. BBCF is my all time fav fighting game so it's just such a treat to see my one of my fav FGC content creators playing it. Please keep the BBCF content coming I love it.

tagar was actually one of the original roster and has bin 720 fools since 2008 terms of matchup knowladge for him, he has armor moves that foot attribute beats out, but he has the d spicy grabs. his 2D has foot guard so he can call out the attemps of foot moves atleast. every match i play vs tagars though is what i like to say is rock paper scissors because its ether, attack, ground throw or air throw(be it the ground grab out of the air or he jumps up with you) on disadvantage. kaguras 2c is godlike vs tagar since its F and active as hell

I love grapplers and I rarely use one. I use characters like makoto (sf) too. But I think adding variety to fighting games with different archetypes is sweet.

This kind of intro benefits BlazBlue videos SO MUCH considering how unique and weird some of these characters are.

oh man, this was so much fun, blazblue sure is a wild game.

I don't know why I stumbled onto your channel, but it's a nice reminder of when I was really into fighters. I never got into competitive playn but I did well against my friends, which got to the point where they didn't want to play anymore other than one (I wasn't a trash talker or anything, I swear), so I found myself always playing single player. I mostly played in the '90s and a little into the 2000s, before online play was really viable. I still break out a fighter every now and then to remember life before my kids got into Smash Bros, and beat up on them on my Neo Geo or Saturn. Did you ever do any content on The Rumble Fish on PS2? I was enjoying it as an alternative the KOF games and Guilty Gear X I was really digging at the time, but couldn't get anyone really playing it with me. It was by Dimps, who later became pretty influential.

Blazblue was my first ever fighting game and tager was the first one i learned. And i loved playing him! Started getting addicted to the game when BBCS came out.

Ever since Calamity Trigger, I have never dropped the Red Devil. Pulling my friends around the battle, watching how different their approach was when I was Tager, it was all so fun. I miss playing Blazblue since I've never owned it on pc...

New people getting into BlazBlue is the best

I'm bad with grapplers, but when i was playing with all characters in Blazblue Continuum and i get to him, i end playing so much with it, to the point he was the only character manage to do the get "500 pts in online" achievement in Steam. Fun thing i still suck doing grabs, but only with the normals and the spin special is more than enough to defend myself, even against medium players.

I remember playing blazeblue in high school. I used to play Tager and that cat lady. While my friend play the samurai and the main character. Good times..

Ik I'm commenting twice Sue me. But with Kag, you can do Bfaf (fafnir but instead of hitting C you hit B) it won't do as much damage but if you land the follow up charge attack at the right time, you'll side switch and you can then follow up with a 3C into your stance changes

I like grapplers as a concept but I'm not good enough to play against them well and I don't like playing them unless they are those kinds of "strike grapplers" I think they are called. Something about ending a combo with a command grab or having a command grab mid combo is just so satisfying.

This is the only grappler I love in fgs instead of raw numbers they gave him tools for days.

You don't need to do the z motion for dp in this game you can input Potemkin buster's motion in guilty gear games and you'll have a dp

I always slept on BB but there was not much going on in the community for most of the time where I love. And so online matches were hard to find. Played the first entry and was blown away by gameplay, design, music. Everything. It was the full package. But it never really took off. Now, with rollback, it could get some people hyped for a new entry and I hope there will be one. However, I am worried about it being a simplified version just like Strive being dumbed down from Xrd a lot.

I played some Iron Tager a long time ago, but I was not good enough at fighting games to even be able to figure this out even tho I thought he was still fun Kinda mind blowing I could've been even more annoying to my brothers
