Not only the Team should be unforgotten - the whole Season EVEY OTHER CLUB aside the "Big ol Ones" like Dortmund, Bayern etc had played an exeptionally strong Season according to the Statistics - many of them played 30% above their former Average. And this goes down to the 3rd League. There are teams in the 2nd League which would be Top5 in the Premier League - which is NOT a weak League at all. And in this Circumstances, Leverkusen did this insane Feat of "not gettin beaten once" - that is the real insanity in it. This Season was a Hellride for everyone - and for some, this ended in Heaven. For Comparison what happened: Bayern Munich did play the same way Statswise as when they Won the Triple. Their defeat against Real was close - by less than a Hair - in Terms of Quality. That Bavaria got send to the THIRD place. And the BVB, Finalist against Real in the CL, is FIFTH. That fucking Season we Germans had - and we all should be thankful for that, too, as ALL Clubs gave their best and entertained us better than it ever happened in the last 20 Years.

This is so exeptionally cute for Cologne to see himself as "Rival" - but that is what we all love you Guys for - wholesome unrealism feeding a brave and compassionate Heart, Club as Fans. This gets even more insane. The whole Leagues down to 3rd League played exeptionally strong aside of the few "Old Royalty" like Dortmund and Bavaria, who did not play any differently than before. This means, Bayern Munich played Statisticswise Eye-to-Eye with Real the whole Time - and got 3rd. The CL-Finalist BVB Dortmung got 5th. That Level of insanity the whole last Season was.

Yeah, and all of that is purposefully made - that scares me the most. They basically do what I had done in the PES-Games with my Team - which I diod not believe could work in Real Life due... well, Humans are not the Bots, not as "selfless". In Games, you love when one Char has something alike "Personality" - in Real life, this is more of a hindrance. Now, Alonso did it - just soooooo much better than I ever could have dreamt done it in that stupid Game. The Lineup that moves without moving; changes without leaving Holes. every Player runs from a Position he can play to a Position he can play as well - and another Player takes his former Position. They go from 4-2-4-0 in defense (sometimes even use a Libero-style 1-4 1-4-0) to a classic 4-4-2 in Midfield to a 2-4-4 in offense without opening any gaps to profit by. They can attack right Flank or left flank without exposing the other - changing sides takes longer for the Ball to travel there with a Flank than them to adapt to it. This gives them always the Manpower needed to put one in the "far Gap" and 2 in the "closer Gaps" of their Opponents Lineup and thus create "advantage in numbers" even though they haven't - as there is always "One Player where it hurts". They even use sometimes the Attackstyles of '46-'54 with a lineback Center. I love what Alonso did - was hoping for sooooo long anyone revives toose "old Tactics" again in a modern Way.

It isn't Voodoo, it is manmade - and that's the most scary thing. You have the Lineup a Club play (like 4--4-2), the Players individually (a Zlatan Ibrahimovich is no Theiry Henry behaviourwise and vice versa) and then the Tactics you play with it (Offensive, Defensive, Centerfocus, Flanks etc). Alonso created this Team for "Control" - not only when they have the Ball. Their most insane Stat is the Recovery Rate of the Ball when they do not succeed in a move and seem to loose it. Normally, Top Teams manage a recovery Rate of 50-60% when they are playing a inferior Team. Leverkusen gets to 80-90% against the Strongest Rivals. Bayern Munich had played well this Season in the Offense by attacking once every 6-8 Minutes. Leverkusen does so every 3. Bayern Munich has a on-Goal-Rate of 50%; Leverkusen of 30%. So, Statisticly, Bavyria has the more succesful attacks on Goal - but the Recovery Rate makes this turn. Because, half of Bavarias missed Attacks end up leading to a Counter Attack - which are about 10-20 per Game average. For Leverkusen, even though attacking closeley the same this is about 5-7. And that means, you shift the "amount of good attacks" from their favour in yours. It is not about what they do on themselfs - it is what they take away from their Opponents Chancewise - they leave the Opponent with half up to a fifth of Counterattacks while turning them into counters themself - they just start them straight before their Opponents 16m-Mark to the 28m-mark - thus beeing able to instantly attack again before the Opponent had able to adapt to it. It is not that the Players are all "playing like a Messi" or such - they are playing as a Team, this is what makes them Strong. They fit the Role they can fulfill perfectly - every Player can also play the Positions around him, thus they often switch places instead of running back to their positons they are "good at". It is not a Team that is "so Good" - it is "a Team without flaw". And THAT is what it makes them even more scary, what makes it "so unreal" - as no human made thing should be "flawless". You can not beat them with having "the better Players" - you only can beat them by having a better Team - and that is hard to get as with "better Players" comes "Star-allures" and Ego along the same size. That's the whole "Secret", the "Magic". It is Manmade - not mystical; even though it looks like that. And that makes it even more scary.

Wrong stat comparison. Leverkusen stat is across all competition not just the league. AC Milan is leading the stat you are talking about with 58, followed by Bayern with 53.
