They fall in-between the brands. Folk want to shell out for expensive ones or get good (enough) performance from £100 putters like Cleveland HB's or Wilson Infinite.

I just had a putter fitting and didn't want to be swayed by brand names so I intentionally didn't pay attention to what putters I was testing. I was blown away that I ended up with the Mizuno Type II. I didn't think that I would like the blade style and I definitely didn't think Mizuno would have topped my list (I didn't even know they made putters) but the proof was in the testing. I loved the weight and feel (especially on 4-8ft putts). Can't wait to get it out on the course.

I have the M-Craft 2 I bought used for $138 and love it. I did something maybe weird but works for me I like a heavy putter put in the 13 gram weights but had a slight pull changed to 8 gram toe and left 13 gram in Heel GREAT. Just shows the options you have with weight kit

By the way Scotty Cameron used to work for Mizuno before he moved to Titleist. You can still get secondhand Mizuno putters with his name on it

Mizuno is really producing some high quality clubs these days, with reasonable prices.

Can also use the weight kits to influence more or less toe hang by using one heavy and one light weight

Bought mizuno no 1 six weeks ago tested all the name brands but this was the best , brilliant putter . Also in Australia we get a tacky grip .

Scottys are way too expensive for the average golfer in my opinion and I think the Mizuno one looks like great value.

Just got the 03 in the Omnio range with the black finish. Love the feeling and from Golfbidder for £170 second hand. All Scottys are a chunk more. Branding etc costs so quality alternative is worth considering.

I’ve got m craft 2 in blue. Love it and love to have something hardly any one else has.

I have the M Craft III Mallet in silver and it is fantastic. Face balanced and a Perfect match for my left hand low putting stroke. I dialed it in further with a Super stroke grip with a 70 gram counter weight and put 2 of the 3 gram weights in the sole. All my putting stats have improved. Amazing feel, sound and look. Only con I can say is silver finish does reflect a lot of glare so I do need sunglasses with me depending on the time of the day. Otherwise fantastic

I've just bought a Mizuno OMOI putter & it feels fantastic. I've got a collection of premium putters & the mizuno is as good as anything on the market. Buy one you won't be disappointed. I've got the white Saturn finish. I would have considered the blue if it were available.

Got the MCraft II in chrome, and you are correct on sunny days the reflection is bright.

That chrome m1 looks mint. I have a surestrike putter which is really good I think it’s 0 or negative lofted to promote roll and it’s been fantastic for my putting.

Would love the blue in the number Two. I have a couple of Mizuno st18 wedges in the blue and the st 200 driver and fairway wood are on my to do list. All of my Mizuno gear and the driver fairway wood are priced competitive with others gear. Those putters are very expensive here in Australia and the blue is hard to get. If I see a black one at a reduced price I’ll be grabbing it.

Never knee mizuno did putters, always known for their irons. I got a new st180 dirt cheap and I'm extremely impressed with it

Hi James - interesting vid. These fall a little bit into "no mans" land as another viewer pointed out. Scotty has brand cache and a very strong 'aftermarket' - I refurb loads so see what shapes sell. Deep milled faces seem to be making a comeback in new releases. The lack of differing shaft lengths might hold this back a little. I also think the weight 'kit' is too narrow in what adjustments are made. TBH I doubt many mid - higher handicappers can feel 10g (or less) difference in head weight and as soon as one of the fatter grips goes on the dynamics alter immediately. I don't know many people who adjust weight for stimp/ time of year. However, very nice lines on the M Craft 2 black blade - reminded me of a slightly slimmed down Piretti Potenza. Now there's a brand that's under the radar.

I still use an MPT105 putter from a few years ago. Mizuno putters are quality.

I am fairly sure that Scotty Cameron was designing putters at Mizuno at one point he left for Titleist who came out with the tag line Scotty Cameron for Titleist. I remember them then having Bob Bettinardi for Mizuno putters come out to try and copy the Titleist tag line they were stunning but not played by Tiger main difference.

They are similar price to scotties and Odyssey, they have the same perceived brand image issue as Jaguar has against Audi and BMW. They are similar spec and quality and are arguably better than the completion. Hopefully that changes.

MyGolfSpy has the M Craft 2 ranked 3rd best overall in 2020 blade putter testing. And the M Craft 3 also ranked 3rd overall in 2020 mallet putter testing. Also both putters were rated best feeling or softest feeling among all their testers. And WHERE have we heard that before about Mizuno? If you go to MyGolfSpy's site and click on the Most Wanted tab you can find all the 2020 results for Strokes Gained in either category. They apparently use a good cross section of golfers of differing skill levels for very through unbiased testing. ...Or so they say.

I used to have a Mizuno C-5 putter (resembles the new mallet), back when Bettenardi was making putters for Mizuno. So difficult to find, it took me over a year to find one on EBAY. Sadly, lost it to theft.

Don’t know why but the Mizuno gear here in Oz is extortionate, $660 (£340) for those putters and don’t get me started on the $750 for the drivers.

Subtract the cost of the average weight kit sold by manufacturers and you have the "true" cost of the club. Nice value adding that to the kit.

Got these in at my club as we’re Mizuno affiliated, they’re amazing - even put one in my bag. Think they pulled their advertising due to the pandemic... it’s a shame as they’re beautiful. Members are always asking me what it is and asking to demo them!

I agree with you. These do look fantastic but if I was to look at spending that much money on a putter I’d just spend the extra on a Scotty. I actually just got the new Phantom X 6 and love it. That being said I think these would gain a lot of traction if they get a good tour presence going.

i think some of the issue is the milled face. I think a lot of people are turned off with the grooves on the face. I personally have a milled face putter and i love it, but you don't see anyone on tour who gets media coverage using them, and i would say 90% or more of the putters in the average shop are all flat face. So i think people just don't like to see the grooves on the face.

The reason you don’t see them in for lessons is because they all have the best putters so no need for lesson. Mine is blue 😂 and I consider myself a good putter so perhaps I feel I can carry it off.

I checked them out when they first came out. I was told that I couldn’t special order to my grip, loft and lie needs. Figured if I had to pay $300 I’d want what I was fitted for.

Used to play Mizuno clubs, but as they no longer care about us Lefties, and no longer make any decent left handed clubs we have all moved to manufactures who cater to us lefties. The putters are without doubt brilliant but once again only made for right handers.

I think the biggest problem for Mizuno is their name is so thoroughly entrenched with great irons. People probably think that the other clubs are afterthoughts.

Just spent £220 on a Ping Heppler putter and at 6’5” the adjustable shaft let me buy off the shelf. There were no Mizuno putters in any of the shops I looked in so I couldn’t even try one let alone in the right shaft length.
