You definitely wouldn't expect to find a McDonald's restaurant on a remote Alaskan island 1200 miles west of the city of Anchorage - an island closer to Tokyo, Japan than Seattle, Washington. The Adak McDonald's closed down back in 1993 and is very much a piece of Americana that is completely frozen in time (including its iconic drive-thru menu, featuring Jurassic Park promotional merchandise and prices that you haven't seen in decades.
Once one of the most popular eateries on this former Naval Air Base, the restaurant closed once it was announced that the base would be decommissioned. The space was used by other restauranteurs over the years, and eventually boarded up and completely shuttered (but rumour has it that the interior decor remains very much the same).

And McDonald's food is just as poisonous now as it was then. In fact I think they added a couple more grams of sugar to their buns also.

It's not my cup of tea, either! Though I don't mind the $1 summer drinks.
