Can't help but wonder how things will turn out for Vittus - will he move to Nuuk or stay in his hometown and his girlfriend moves instead? Whatever happens, I truly wish the best for both of them. Thank you Luke for sharing Vittus' story with us and hope you have more of such stories to share in the future.

Instead of creating a story, Luke does a great job at relaying the actual story…wish we had more KZfaqrs like him who are as intentional and genuine. I find this documentary incredibly wholesome, that Luke was dedicated in not only continuing to communicate with Vittus, but that he came back to see what had changed, which is a great level of commitment.

I sort-of wonder how *everything* is done in small-town Greenland. How do people buy refrigerators? Where do they get drywall/sheetrock if they need home remodels? How do they order from Amazon?
@CarolynandAlexiashow
@CarolynandAlexiashow 10 ай бұрын
From my experience living in a remote community (not in Greenland but Canada), you get it transported by cargo planes , or if there's a winter ice road you can drive it up in the winter time. You can order online like anyone else would, and the packages go to the closest post office and then to the hangar of the cargo planes that go to the community. But shipping for amazon to a remote community is extremely expensive.
@CarolynandAlexiashow
@CarolynandAlexiashow 10 ай бұрын
For larger items they just go straight to the cargo planes (like say you were buying a refrigerator from Canadian tire)

This video made me so emotional, i legit teared up. Vittus is a beautiful soul, he deserves all the good in this world. It seems to me that it's expensive for him to make the trip to Nuuk though, isn't it? Isn't there a chance that we as viewers could sponsor him so he can travel back and forth more often? I imagine he will relocate to Nuuk with his fiancé now, i hope they can find a nice place in the suburbs or something where he can still feel connected with nature and she can still get that city feel from having the centre close by, but i imagine his hometown will always keep calling him and it will be easier for him when he knows that he can just go back for a weekend or so and it doesn't have to be a once in a year thing. I know that i would personally love to support this man so that he can live his life in the best way possible, he deserves it.

nowadays, one of the causes of mental strain is social media. It has its downsides, but it's also fascinating to acknowledge its power. Without Facebook, the guy wouldn't have met such a stranger from another country. However, it's truly wonderful to see that because of Facebook, these two remarkable souls connected and forged one of the most genuine friendships I've ever witnessed. This is how we should utilize social media - fostering positive connections, not negative ones.

We got to remember though it's not just social media. I'm a millennials (I think) and have chronic mental illness and actively s/harm and s**cide attempts and chronically suicidal. I'm registered the highest s****de risk they have in my town. It's nothing to do with social media. I've suffered hard since way before social media and it's all to do with my lifestyle, or lack of it, my abusive neglectful upbringing and alot of environmental factors, treatment from other people and services in real life not social media

I feel that you can always have your home, even when you need to go. Tasilaq isn't going anywhere and it will always be home for Vitus. Maybe they can go home one day, just not now. I can already imagine the next time you visit Vitus is going to be when he becomes a father! and it's impressive how you use your empathy to sense whenever there is something deeper going on within the person, even when they're introverted like Vitus, you figured out that he doesn't like bigger cities, which made us all relate to the sacrifice that comes with love, adding so much more depth to the story

Thank you for posting this video especially - following up your visit from last year. The connection to Vittus and his life - and his to yours - is such a powerful story made more beautiful because it is in Iceland and continues the story you both told last year. He shows such hope and happiness - so visible when we first see Vittus again. Maybe next year or beyond when Luke visits him again it will be different - but that is life and that is what friendships are all about. Connecting, helping, sharing, and giving strength and love. This is a powerful video. Your Amazon video was also powerful and moving - all your videos are. You (Luke) bring to your filmmaking stories that somehow brings down the distances between us all. How you do this in 10 or 11 minutes of video is amazing. And thanks for disclosing you are getting therapy yourself. That is so meaningful and helpful to so many people who need to hear that help is there - for them as it was for you - and Vittus. Thank you.

Just an FYI Better Help has been in some legal issues with breaking HIPAA laws. I know that everyone does it so it seems safe but it's not. Many creators don't look into the brand and just do what others do. Next time look into the company regardless if others do it.

True. I paid for a month, had to change 3 times therapists because they didnt respond often or answer any of my questions. Most of the therapists are overworked and underpaid, most of the money goes to the company not the therapists.

Yep i've heard bad things about them too. I'm from Europe where healthcare is obv better organised, so the whole concept of BetterHelp is a little wild to me anyway, like, a subscription for therapy? but i get that for Americans it can be really useful, however caution is adviced with such organisations who make money from vulnerable people

I'm in shock that Better Help is STILL being heavily promoted. It's disappointing really!

YES!! Better help is a SCAM!!! Most of these KZfaqrs don’t use better help personally either. They all read a VERY similar script when these YT’ers let these people sponsor them. If anyone used better help because an influencer, or YT’er suggesting it-I would be making SURE that person knew what they were actually peddling, and then I’d ask for my money back..if they led me to use a (product) scam as a medical marketing scheme-I’d be asking for my money back,ASAP! They bank on the fact you’ll use them, because so n so did! And most of them don’t even use better help either!!!

@@slayjaeeven as an American, I still can’t get behind the “subscription for therapy”(you said it perfectly!) I have done telehealth calls(talking to your doctor over Zoom,or another trusted platform. But those are for times I can’t physically make it to the office..my healthcare is organized enough(thank God) that I have a care team for whatever organ is ailing me at the time!😂 it’s very streamlined thankfully, but I know some people get diagnosed with illnesses late and can’t look for a doctor they would like,not what your given. But this didn’t sit well with me either! To me, part of the therapy is seeing the person I’m talking with, bouncing ideas, seeing things from a different perspective..it would not be as effective on line. I feel like I cannot sometimes properly convey my thoughts on my illnesses just because being online, I have that “rushed” feeling,even if I’m not being rushed at all! But online medical appointments are good for emergencies,but that’s not for me every week!! Hello miss lady across the pond, hope you’re having a wonderful start to the weekend! 😊

this guy is the luckiest person in the world getting a girl like that, beautiful and actually helped his mental state rather then running away yet he doesnt want too move too the tiny city of nuuk for her? where all his family already is?? it has 17k people like bro thats nothing being so dramatic, come to a real city if you think thats busy, what you gonna do just roll around in tasilaq all alone forever. You have been given extreme luck that people would dream of dont mess it up cause i imagine itll be extremely hard to find another girl in greenland with that tiny population

It can difficult for introverts to move to a big cities from a small town or village. But a man would make any sacrifice for love. I hope his wife can appreciate the sacrifice he made for her and maybe they can still visit his old town from time to time.
