I visited Popeye Village in Malta FOR THE FIRST TIME!

Күн бұрынI visited popeye village in Malta for the first time and it was absolutely amazing! It is located in the North Part of Malta, you can get there by car, taxi or bus! The entry. This is a must do thing in Malta! During the summer days the price is €24 per adult and you can spend the whole day. There are restaurants inside, the film set, cinema, bars, and the most important a really nice beach.

I’m so glad they rebuilt it after the storm hit it at the start of last year. I first went as a kid and have taken friends there when they visit Malta. It’s a great living memory to the actor Robin Williams. 😁. You did another great review 👍🏻

Great video.. I see it is very built up now and looks good to be honest and great for families. The actress Shelley Duvall who played the part of Olive Oyl in the 1980 movie alongside Robin Williams as Popeye passed away 2 days ago. Shelley Duvall was 75 and also played the wife in The Shining. One of the last great actresses of our time R I P. Maybe there is some old photo's of her in Malta when filming! Anyway the people there looked relaxed and it is good to see the on-going acting and interaction away from the main show(s) with the general public. Again, great video, thanks Alex

Hi Alex thank you for making this excellent video. The Popeye Villages does look amazing and somewhere i need to go next time i am in Malta. The bay looks so stunning with the rocks and clear blue sea.

For people who wants to save some money, go to anchor bay, its on the other side of popeyes, it's free and you have a awesome View towards popeyevillage and its normally much less crowded

@@ThePoetRobin qaaraba bay, armier bay or little armier on Malta probably Maybe some outskirts of Mellieha bay But qarraba is FKk, you will See naked people probably

So, visit Qarraba Bay (but its popular for Nudity) and harder to reach, you can also try Mgibiah Bay behind Mellieha, but it's quite hard to reach. Armier Bay or little Armier are also considerable and some outskirts of Mellieha Bay or just the surroundings of Ghaijn Tuffiefha

I hope that it has changed since my family and I went there 9 years ago. My criticisms; hardly any shade available, very run down, it looks what it is, an old film location. The water was dirty, as was the beach, which was very small. Poor food offers. I would never recommend it, but it may have improved, although it looks the same to me in this vid..

I spoke with other people that they used to go, they said now its nicer than before, the beach just gets super busy

it's a place that needs to be demolished...it's a tourist trap and does nothing to expand or educate visitors about Maltese culture and heritage

I dont agree with this comment! The village was built for the movie set over 40y ago, nowadays its used to entertain kids and adults. What is the reason to be demolished ? For picnics ? This place gives job opportunities to people and also entertainment for both local and tourists.

Agree with Alex, it's such a nice little location. I wish we had more of these places for people to relax and chill out. Sometimes its not about history and culture but about meeting people at cozy places. Life doesn't always need to be a grand quest :D
