TODAY’S STORY IN CRAZY! Welcome to Kandahar, Afghanistan.
Kandahar is well known as being the headquarters of a Sunni Islamic political movement and military organization who is currently waging war within the country. Since their uprising in the mid 1990s, Kandahar has been the home base where the group operates, and at one point in time (in the early 2000s), they controlled 95% of the country.
I didn’t originally plan to visit Kandahar on this trip around Afghanistan, but the city recently opened up (about a year ago) and there was a spontaneous opportunity to go there… And I couldn’t decline it.
So why did I go to Kandahar, knowing that it is dangerous?
Despite all of the battle and conflict that the city has seen over the last 25 years, I knew that there is another side to the Kandahar story among its 1 million residents. Having the chance to meet eye-to-eye with these innocent people, observing their lifestyle and witnessing the ancient wonders of Kandahar was enough motivation for me to go.
And after spending 48 hours in the city, all I can say is that it turned out to be one of the most incredible few days of my life.
In this video, join me on a wild journey into Kandahar, Afghanistan.

@@rukhsarsiddiq1266 that’s because English is the default language of the world. Not the fault of English-speakers that enough people around the world already has a decent enough command of our language 🤷‍♂️ Thats just the way it is. I don’t ever plan on moving outside of my country, so what would be the point in me learning a second language? There’s no point. Now if I was going to move to a country where English isn’t the 1st language then yes, that’s different... Try to learn at least a little bit of the country’s language. But pretty much all English speaking English countries are highly developed so there’s not much reason for people to move.

@@JBguitar-cj8pc when you learn new languages, you learn about new cultures. None of us know what the future holds for us, so while youre planning to not move, you might have to in the future. While most countries have some grasp of english or spanish, many many places in the world dont, and usually these are ones that differ from our cultures the most. Also, there are way more Mandarin speakers than english speakers, so using your logic, English speakers should learn Mandarin at the very least.

Bullet of a gun is faster then the ink of a pen, what I mean is that with today's controlled media, you have very little chance as a nobody to spread truth, In the US most media companies, you might think there are hundreds of them, but most are owned by just 4 shell companies, And of there weren't those anti trust laws, it would have been just 1. You know what happened to assange, snowden? Im Indian, during our freedom fight, there were two schools of thought, one was Gandhi ji, you know most probably what he thought, other people were people like subhas chandra bose and Azad( the name means freedom) they choose the violent route, throughout India we know which one worked.

Also its quite literally impossible not to bring up politics in some way when you're showing a country thats war torn and struggling with its human rights laws. Honestly I think he actually stays away from politics a lot more than most. Most afghans do not support the taliban, most afghans are just trying to get through the day and live life despite the leaders of their country. Humans are NOT their governments. You'd probably benefit from being kinder to people and listening instead of telling them their intellect is too low to talk to you.

@@rosapasquale8179 Yo I reaaalllly hope Drew didnt waste the opportunity of buying Noor a new phone. Considering how many times Drew has been to Afghanistan by now, and guided safely by Noor - also considering how much revenue he has gotten from such a clickbaitable country - I would be a SHAME if he did not; in the very least offer to buy it if he was rejected.

Greetings from Malaysia. I still remember back in my varsity days we had a few Afghans students (they were mostly older than average student age, I’d guess around 30s or more for some). They were here under the cooperation between Malaysia and Australia to learn and teach back home. Whenever they’re free, they would invite some of us to their dorms and share some snacks from there. Whenever they or others talk about Afghan and the war there, they’d be teary eyed. Some of them lost family in the war. It’s quite an experience.
