It’s like when there is a dark room, all of a sudden someone comes in and brings in a light. You’re focused on that person only and the only reason you can see is because of that person. You build a connection with them across time and then someone comes and takes them away while you’re not watching while all along you knew they wouldn’t be there forever and the light would go out. To me, this ending is suggesting that he is betraying her because he is acting like the light is still there when we know damn well he can’t keep it lit himself. Long analogy, but I tried to get you to understand perfectly what I was thinking 4 months ago (this movie hit me so hard I remember what I was typing at 3 am on a random Tuesday night).

Seriously it was a great movie, I watched it way back in 2019, and it was definitely worth it. Moreover did y'all know that there's a small light novel sequel and it is titled as 'To My Father and to Someone in My Memories' (around 45 pages) which depicts the life of Haruki what happens later after Sakura passed away. It's a must read for a great clousure for what left a massive hollow after watching this movie and it also answers many questions which were left unanswered.

wow, this is just great you two for watching this one. I saw this in the theater and it was like a gut punch at that certain point of the movie. If you need a reason for the stabbing there were two hoodlum guys about that bicycle that she chased off, it could be that she didn't back away from another dangerous situation later, or if you need no reason it would be that killer that randomly stabs people for no reason. I thought that his name was not on her book because he asked her not to name him, I don't know if I remember that correctly, maybe that's why the mom was very happy that he came forward on his own. It was cathartic for both of them to cry for Sakura in front of each other, he asked permission to cry first.

the second that I realised they were building up her death by illness just to turn out she dies of murder was the very second I had begun to cry the most I've ever cried in my life since my grandma passed away. Man i swear these movies be making me cry more than real life situations, maybe thats because i prefer fiction over reality, which causes me to get extra attached to fictional worlds. I've personally dreamt of living in an animated world many times. I just think things are so much more interesting in a fictional setting than reality. How people act, all the dramatic ways people speak in a fictional world, little things like that. It's hard to explain but Im more attached to fiction than real life because Ive always thought of my life as boring and bland. I have a select few friends, but I dont hang out with them after school, i dont play sports, I dont have any talents, my mind is always consuming me about not having a girlfriend, im a bit bigger than most kids so im self concious about my body. I have trouble making friends, when Im at home I spent most of my time eating my life away until I die of some heart attack before I reach age 30. I sit on a couch and watch anime, videos, and game all day, have a porn addiction, nothing else, i guess you could say begin a good gamer is a talent but that doesnt count to me. Cool, statistically wise im probably top 1 to 5 percent of all COD players but that doesnt affect my life and It's not like I will ever play it on a proffesional level. Besides my activities and responsibilities and few friendships i have at school, outside of all that Im basically as close as Ill get to your average shut in. Im only making this comment knowing that no one on the internet knows who I am. I guess thats one thing I like about the internet.

I hope you are still here on this account. I am literally you. I’m not conscious about my body nor do I overeat but everything else basically describes my life. It’s just mundane filled with nothing out of the ordinary and when there is something it’s always bad. I haven’t experienced real joy as I think most people do and I couldn’t care less about reality if it meant I could switch to fiction. The opportunities and possibilities in fictional worlds are so fascinating and I know I am someone who just lives in their head and doesn’t make an effort in anything. That’s true and I acknowledge it. The issue is having to live with it. Having to live with having zero work ethic, live with uninterest in daily life and disregarding responsibilities some people my age are supposed to already have. I have an issue with emotional connection with people outside the internet maybe due to the fact that I can be open because people on here don’t know me but they do in real life. I can only feel true and intense happiness or sadness when I am embraced in a fictional world and this time I got over my fear of watching this movie (after seeing clips thousands of times). I just wanted to fully immerse myself in something sad for the first time in a while. I am seriously just kinda stuck and confused. I cried for a while for the first time in 8 years and am struggling to go to sleep before 4 a.m and have been for a while. This movie means so much to me right now and has for a couple years since I first saw it and it gives me a sense of loss like white album 2 did when the main character stayed with brown haired girl instead of kazuma (I think is her name) and it’s frustrating, sad and makes me question the authors of the se mangas. The more I watch and read fiction (manga and anime) I seem to get less and less interested in reality and just keep wishing I got isekai’d to a world where I could be a free soul and not be chained by society and the people around me. I also think this is extremely cruel of me and insensitive but I can’t seem to care for people in my family (obviously let alone others). If I were to be honest, my parents could die and I wouldn’t cry and same with everyone else. People that think like us get called “weak” and that “this isn’t how life is supposed to be lived” and “be grateful” but they don’t understand that we know everything fully well but there is like a titanium wall in front of us that separates us from them. I think you feel the same which is, I have no drive, no goals, aspirations or normal desires like money and houses or cars. Sure it would be cool for a bit but I would be more content with a average life and try to live life as similar to my fantasies in my head (of course to what’s possible and minimally healthy, I would try). I also have issues with not having a girlfriend to talk to, to feel and to experience things with in the prime of my life (which scares me cus if this is the best then holy shit… and I’m not a simp I just keep these feelings bottled up and on the low). Sorry if this was long I just have never found someone as alike to me as you and I would like to talk to you on discord if you have it I’m assuming you do since you’re a cod player. I’m a gamer myself but I play more rocket league and rainbow six siege.and A separate question I have is if he and that girl that’s sakura’s best friend are dating. If so I think that is a MAJOR blunder from the author because I see that as a betrayal to Sakura and I honestly don’t understand why that happened or how he allowed himself to betray her. I guess it’s not my story and not my place to say what should be done. I truly wish there was a sequel or “different timeline” where she lived even after the pancreas disease and I would want to see that. To finish my rant off, I would like to say this: “fuck the world and what society thinks and live a free life” is something I am now trying to live by. This is my discord and I will try to check it everyday to see if you see this and/or add me drakeisᴙetarded#6222.

The thing that's so special about this movie to me was, that watching it for the first time it didn't just make me tear up or cry in a few singular insances (like your name (still my absolute favorite, sorry xD) or silent voice) but managed to make me cry (in sadness or hapiness!) all over again basically every few minutes for the last 25 minutes of the movie😭

I watched this movie for the first time last night, something that really stood out to me is that despite one of the leading characters dying, the movie never felt like it was about death to me, it doesn't wallow or become melodramatic - it's a movie about life.

Lol I love how you guys are going through what every person does when they start watching anime. First you start with the basic fun action pact shonens then you start with some more darker action like AOT now your on the depressing sad romance binge see people in the comments recommending Anohana and clannad they tryna get you to cry.

The unexpected ending goes to show that no one really knows WHEN and HOW death will come. The fact that she have an illness and we (the audience and them) already accepted she'll eventually die from it, and thus she spends her remaining days to the fullest, yet fate took a cruel joke, made it realistic. In real life, it's very rare to have a proper farewell to someone. No dramatic speeches, etc. Death comes when you least expected it.

I haven't read someone explaining about the fireworks since you notice fireworks occur in a lot of anime movies/series.. i know this reaction is old but i hope you read it.. fireworks is pretty much symbolic to couples in east asian countries.. its like a soulmate thing.. And i believe most countries sees it as a romantic thing to see.. in every relationship, fireworks was like a spark of love between two people... ❤️
