This is one of those moments that truly showcases how One Piece stands not just as a monumental work in the genre, but in fiction at large. Just...incredible. That a series as goofy and charming as One Piece could produce such an incredible conveyance of human emotion is truly wonderful. Oda is on another level, no doubt.

God this scene just hit differently than any emotional beat from anything. For me it encapsulated the feeling of both wanting to live and for wanting an end to pain simultaneously, from the perspective of someone who can't see them separated. The power of her friends saying we'll take your pain, you get to live is just unparalleled the way it's done

Personally Robin has always been my personal favorite Shounen Female character bc of scenes like This. She’s just a really unique Shounen Female character honestly

This is why I love Robin as a character. She’s been through so many things and put up so many walls (and I think she wanted to die at some points), but it was thanks to Luffy and the Strawhats that she is now able to live her life to the fullest. She said to the world that she wanted to live and her wish was granted. She’s able to be herself, and nothing is holding her back anymore. Not only that, she made one of a kind friends in the form of her crew and captain. And that is why I love her. Happy birthday, Nico Robin, the cursed... no, BLESSED child. Thank you for living.

She has become boring as of late. She has had the best characterization out of any strawhat pre-timeskip. Yet now she has been put on the back burner. I bet she will have her spotlight soon though

Robin is the best example of an introverted character everyone overlooks because she doesnt put herself in the front and only speaks when she needs. Maybe she is in the back, but she reacts to every single situation just as all the other strawhats.

No. She will be one of the most important character in the last arcs. Same reason why zoro didn't have the screen time he used to have in pre timeskip. From wano onwards zoro has getting around double the screen time compared to non luffy straw hats. Also Robin from the end of wano, where people will Try to capture her and her knowing the void century there will be a lot more emphasis on Robin.

Crocodile Pre-MarineFord War was a lot like Eustass Kid if Luffy never met Eustass Kid in his life, so that’s why Crocodile used to care more about getting the Ancient Weapons than getting the knowledge of the Void Century because if he was just after the knowledge of the Void Century then he would have joined Doflamgino’s Pirate Crew and being involved in the MarineFord War side by side Doflamgino instead of Black Beard himself, but since Crocodile was never after the knowledge of the Void Century, and him giving up his quest in finding the Ancient Weapons he helped Luffy out in the events of the MarineFord War.

For me personally, it's in My Hero Academia when Deku and Todoroki fight. The flashback to Todoroki and his Mother watching all might and his mother saying "It's alright to be the man you want to be" just fucking broke me. I watch that anime episode (s2e10) once a year to remind myself how far I've come, and how far I still need to go.

I think the fight could have been a bit better if Deku wasn’t shouting about Shoto’s issues for all the world to hear. Imagine if Deku, after Shoto told him his backstory and goals before the fight, actually argued back there and then when they had privacy, and then after being given time to think on it and seeing Deku’s resolve Shoto came around to using his fire. I think it would have been better written that way.

Robin woulda been the best if Oda hadn't forgotten for so long after this. I'm not caught up with Wano, but I think she's finally more involved, which is good though extremely late to say the least.

Everyone has an own personal "best moment" I would say. One Piece has many moments that I will remember, but watching other anime I cant say its the best. I cant say that anything is THE best. Some things are special in their own way.

How’s there no meat or consequences with this moment? We get Robin’s motivation, we get her backstory, and we get a bearing of how the world at large views her, which gives weight to her decision and the Straw Hats actions to save her. If this isn’t enough meat, what should be there in the moment to make it better?

You are either too easily get impressed or consumed too little fiction. One piece is nothing but cheap drama(melodrama). Powerful scenes don't just push your "it's so sad" buttons, but trigger conflicted feelings, make you think, reflect and so on. More than that, really powerful moments do NOT just become forgotten. Robin forgot everything immediately after that arc and became just fanservice archaeologist device with minor combat capabilities.
