The reason u wanna crouch is bc its not only giving u more time till u Land, it also makes u lighter and therefore explosives will give u more knockback, that means u will fly further then u would without crouch when rocket jumping.

no one actually knows what happens, but the theories are that either a) it makes u lighter, b) it makes u smaller which means ull experience less air drag or c) being smaller means the explosion hits closer to the core of the classes body resulting in larger knockback. honestly if you have gunboats, just slap those on and play soldier like you would normally. you'll be able to learn as you go while still playing in a "live fire" environment any time you want to get back to the action quickly after dying, practicing rocket jumping is the perfect way to do it since the better you get at it, the faster you'll get back to the frontlines which means the faster you will die again which means you'll have more opportunities to practice rocket jumping when you respawn

To answer your question at 6:23 . That's Asmongold, the man who has been balding since he was 17. He spends most of his time playing WoW and pondering about which fast food place he's ordering dinner from. The few times he isn't doing that he can be found doing variety stuff with OTK (One True King) - A group of twitch streamers that bonded together to force themselves to leave their rooms once in a while. He's one of my favourite personalities on the internet so I do recommend watching him, it's just not something you should react to.

"3?" Yes duck, every weapon on your character has a number, pressing that number on the keyboard will make your character switch to that weapon. Same as Minecraft, Garry's mod, Half-life, Roblox Half-life 2, and many more. In tf2 1 is for your primary, 2 is for your secondary/lunchbox item, 3 is always your melee weapon.

The reason why you crouch as you jump is because the Source engine actually has this weird thing about it where crouch jumping actually gets you higher than a normal jump. There are some obstacles in TF2 you can't get over with an ordinary jump, but you can get over with a crouch jump.

Q: Would it be better to practice first or just jump in? A1: A mix of both. Start with a half hour on a private server practicing jump skills, followed by a 2fort pub match (2fort is code for "I'm just dicking around, no one's really expecting me to help win the match") followed by more time on the private server. Or vice versa. It doesn't matter which you start with, but switch back and forth between them a lot. Training the skills in private will get you further against real opponents. Fighting real opponents will give you a better understanding of which skills you're training, why you need to train them, which ones you've got pretty solid, and which ones you're coming up short on and need to address next. You can't really gauge how well your practice is paying off if you're not willing to jump into a match and aim for that payoff. After you get decent you might switch to weeks of playtime in multiplayer, followed by a day of playtime practicing, followed by more weeks in multiplayer. But the more time you spend on one, the more rewarding your time spent on the other will become. A2: It's Trolldier. "Jumping in" is what a trolldier does in spades.

Ok, first of all: do NOT play trolldier immediately! It might sound discouraging, but you'd better just to learn how play soldier overall, so you could build up enough gamesense Second of all, i must be confident that you have good settings, because if you don't, i will feel really bad for you SO! Follow these steps: 1) Go to the settings 2) Bind "duck" to the "Shift" button (It's way better than "CTRL") 3) Click "Advanced" and enable fast weapon switch and developer console 4) Open the developer console and type in these commands: rate 80000 cl_cmdrate 66 cl_updaterate 66 cl_interp 0 cl_interp_ratio 2 fov_desired 90 viewmodel_fov 90 tf_use_min_viewmodels 1 tf_dingalingaling 1 tf_dingalingaling_lasthit 1 hud_medicautocallers 1 tf_sniper_fullcharge_bell 1 5) Search in google "master config tf2" 6) Pick any type of config you want (i prefer "high") 7) Then click "Customize quality"and set everything as you want 8) After that go to the "Addons" section and tick "Flat mouse", everything else is personal 9) Click "Download preset and selected addons VPKs" 10) Go to the TF2 steam page and go to your local files, using this button ⚙️ 11) Drop everything you have downloaded in "tf/custom" 12) Go to your launch options through the same ⚙️ button and type in "-novid -high -nojoy -nosteamcontroller -fullscreen" This will highly increase your TF2 experience, all this won't take you more than 20 minutes, but it will be worth it

It's actually pretty easy to use Trolldier, just fire a rocket the opposite way where you're trying to go, jump and crouch, then start circling on people like a vulture until you almost reach where they are, click and you've got yourself a market garden. To do more crazy stuff like pogo jumping or wall jumping you ARE gonna need way more practice though.

At first sure, but the more you look into the source engine the more they seem less "broken" and more outdated(it came out in 2004 so that obvious). The hitboxes aren't the problem, it's the way the source engine handles server inputs, which causes them to be "broken", more or less.

Honestly I'd suggest learning to rocket jump first. Forget about all that shovel stuff, it's an incredibly useful mechanic even without it (actually, rocketjumping with the spoon is only a very small portion of rocketjumping) and learn to do it. I'd suggest watching Nate Fox's tutorials on rocketjumping and then go on jumpacademydottf. The jumpacademy2 map has a bunch of easy courses on it which if you manage to do consistently will set you for battle jumping (there's a whole lot more to rocketjumping, but this should be enough for regular TF2). It will be difficult and frustrating at first, but after good 20-30 hours, you'll start getting the hang of it. I'd suggest getting coaching from somebody who knows how to rocketjump and teach it well, it speeds up the process a lot. Then you might find out all of the market gardening stuff will get a lot easier. There really isn't much point in trying to get gardens if you can't rocketjump well.

It's not "complicated" as it is Tf2, is easy to learn theory but complex practice[simple market to insane predict market]
