On real real one! Fred • black brother to another • I hope your girl ain’t troubling you or adding to the stresses of your daily life and tasks • not saying she is because I don’t know either of you personally BUT! Please men & women take note • there is so much happening in this world today that I’m gonna speak for us men when I say this • in a relationship / friendship / what ever ship ⛴️ you’re in • please try to be the other persons source of peace and tranquility • things are harder than ever and you need to make your man know and feel like he can talk to you if need be in terms of just releasing certain things they may be holding • talking is really healing ❤️‍🩹 if we know how to connect • In short • Be Each Others Peace ☮️ • SERIOUSLY •

Damn. I love that Joyce did not let Fred’s energy affect hers, even after what he tried to project onto her regarding her upbringing and how this led to her seeking a sugar daddy. Joyce genuinely gave Fred the opportunity to talk about his mental health and speak his TRUTH. The minute that he said he is fine, she dropped it and did not make him feel that something must be wrong. It’s a shame to see this was not returned when she tried to speak HER truth.

Excuse me to say , do better. People confide in you guys and the topics you guys bring to the table. Fred if you like go home, because your mannerism today was just bad vibes. Sometimes sleep.

Not many people are gonna admit it but I’d rather you guys postpone the ep if one of you is feeling off. The main selling point for the pod is that you’re all good vibes and enjoying yourselves as you talk, if one of you is feeling down it’s very obvious. This could’ve been a top tier ep with a guest like Joyce but now it’s just mad uncomfortable and this isn’t the first time this has happened icl

Fred’s explanation of Joyce seeking a sugar daddy being a result of an absent male figure i.e father is reductionist. My main point being there isn’t a direct cause and effect which guarantees that a missing father figure would definitively result in looking for emotional support elsewhere. Explained perfectly by VP that even with a present father figure, things like a sugar daddy could be sought after purely based on the fact that there’s a greater need for financial support. Lastly Fred talked about if the father was present there would’ve been a greater household income. This is all hypothetical and doesn’t take into account that the father could’ve been present and still not meet Joyce’s financial needs. Hence my main point there isn’t a direct cause and effect, there are other factors that play into getting a “sugar daddy”.

I think one thing I like about this podcast especially episodes like this is it’s not aiming for “perfection”. As adults you have discussions with friends and it gets intense and sometimes uncomfortable. And either you table it and re hash things at a better moment or in most real life cases you get over it and it’s all vibes which honestly is just a healthy REAL representation of how discussing and communicating is with people you respect. It cnt be Christmas everyday sometimes it’s Tuesday and I can’t be bothered but I’m here so let’s do this😂 Ppl say they want people to be them selves but only when it’s fits what makes them comfortable which honestly is not authentic. You want to see a man in touch with his emotions and when he is he is bad vibes. Anyway I don talk my own finish lol. Love you guys always sad I’m missing ANOTHER live show😢❤

Exactly 💯!!! One of the main things I love about 90S Baby is that they're authentic and being their real true genuine selves unapologetically. What you see is what you get with them. It ain't always gonna be fun, games and banter all the time it's gonna be raw, there's gonna be tension and confrontation. Ppl these days only want Realness when it's convenient for them and it just don't work like that. They're keeping it real and I'm here for it!!!!!

Something that could have cleared up the confusion in the '' sugar daddy issues discussion'' is the difference in causality and correlation. There is indeed a correlation between the absence of a father and a woman seeking a sugar daddy. This doesn't mean that there is a causality though. If we listen to Joyce's story, the absence of her father didn't directly cause the search for a sugar daddy. Her financial situation was a direct cause, there was a causality there. Just because there is a positive correlation between the lack of active fathers and the seeking of a sugar daddy, doesn't mean that one causes the other. I really loved this discussion guys! Keep it up guys, this podcast is growing and I'm glad to be part of the process💫

Joyce’s bounce back energy is to be admired, I do think Fred had a strong argument. The way you grow up seeing how women are respected or not respected shapes your view of what is acceptable for you. So it’s a more indirect way but it is a daddy issue. Joyce’s point was also valid, if the financial need wasn’t present she wouldn’t have even looked for that. So both are true. Fred is actually right u know, daddy issues manifest is many ways but people men and women will not truly understand. Your dad can be there and still have daddy issues. I was raised by my dad no mum and I still have daddy issues as I see life in the prism of a masculine lens. My dad and uncles raised me to be a man and their life dedicated how they raised me. It was a life of work and grind cuz no one cares, life will smack you and humble u all u can do is get up and go again. Crying ain't gonna solve it. I always knew they love me as well. But now I am an adult, I am like a mum or aunt may have made me a better rounded individual.I have a lot of things I should have learned from my mum or aunt's that were not there. I was raised by my dad and uncles. I can be emotionally distant or very rational and logical to my detriment. So many things I am learning now that I am married for two yrs that I realise I have both mummy issues and daddy issues.....a balance of both is needed, u need both perspectives to view the world in a balanced way. Thank God for therapy lol

Fred was having a disputatious person's day here and my lil heart couldn't take it. The bounce back is inevitable and I'm sure it's all love. Personally it always sucks seeing someone have an off day and yes I'm very aware that it isn't always sunshine and rainbows but always awful. Anyways, regarding the sugar daddy issue it stems from lack of generational wealth within the black household. Both parents may work, but it doesn’t mean parents always have enough disposable income to give to there children whenever they need it. Simply, Joyce wanted to live the high-life and knew the lifestyle required wealth, the END.

Hey guys really loving the pod. I’m one of your younger viewers and I grew up in a single parent household now the conversation that you guys had in this episode was a really nice and refreshing to hear.However I feel like some of the things that Fred said were dismissive and frankly quite offensive and I know he wouldn’t intend that. But as a younger viewer (im a 14 year old girl btw) I felt that Fred was sort of saying that if I was to go into a more sexualised industry it would be due to the absence of my father in my life however my relationship with my father does not define me as a person it was sort of asif he was saying that I can’t be a sugar baby just because I want to be a sugar baby my dad has to come into it somehow. I don’t really feel like that is true especially in Madame Joyce’s case I feel like she was a product of her environment she just wanted to make money and she saw that’s how other girls were doing it I don’t fully see how her dad comes into that. If she came and said that she wanted a male figure to come and support her because she felt a lack of attention then I could see where the father figure may come into it but not in this example all love no hate but my question is for Fred is: is he saying that I can’t be a sugar baby just because I want to be without no ties to my relationship with my father? Because personally I feel that if we are seeing it online and that’s how the girls are making money of course others are going to want to join it’s not always a lack of a father figure and for Fred to generalise all girls who are products of a single parent household was just a little mad to me but yeah all love no hate
@90sBabyShow
@90sBabyShow Жыл бұрын
Suga daddies and money are too glorified I can't stand in the way of it no one was understand my point and think it was a generalisation, from the story told that figure is missing never was it a guarantee. but also daddy issues is seen as an issue on the daughter only, when in fact its the daddy that was the issue
@amira6405
@amira6405 Жыл бұрын
I like that you guys are having this conversation about issues. Here is the thing, there are multiple layers to the issues that we face in life. Due to the structure of our own respective families, cultures, nationalities, citizenship, those issues manifest in different ways. Our family is our primary agent of socialization, for some this may be blood and for others this may be who we end up around in our critical and impressionable period of life (say 0-18 years old). You can attribute the decisions you make to more surface level things like the need to make money and that can be true, however, it may also be true that the way you choose to then make money is attributed to deeper rooted factors. Say, you live with your mom in a single parent setting (I can identify) and your dad was not present as much in my upbringing. I identify because of divorce etc. My issues are not necessarily money issues but male female relationships - being comfortable getting close to men, at least I'll say that. This stems, I think, from a "daddy issue" of seeing my mom hurt, not having the presence of seeing how men should treat women in romantic relationships etc. Now back to the lack of money thing....how we then choose to find financial freedom is telling. Getting a sugar daddy seems to be the only way (maybe it is in your circumstance) why? This could be a daddy issue. Had we had financial issues with a present loving dad...why seek out an older man to pay for our life? Because we see older men (that happen to be like the standard of a dad) as that measure and marker. Why not go become a stripper? Maybe our values aren't aligned that way because we think it would be embarrassing to our parents or they could find out. These issues are layered...and I think we should have space for discourse surrounding them. I say this to say, Joyce is right about her experience. Yet, as you dig deeper to find the root cause of how we justify the decisions that we make instead of another...we see that our upbringing and what we have been taught to value plays a huge part...and sometimes, it may be issues with our dads moms what have you.
