I used to be an incredibly short hitter until i stopped doing these 3 common mistakes. I can guarantee you will be doing one of these huge mistakes with driver. This is the low hanging fruit to gaining easy yards.

Brilliant, short, informational, repeatable , simple. The "posting" of the leading leg has helped me reduce the frequency of dragging the ball left ,added to pushing the ball forward I am hitting good trajectory, line and distance. Driver , pitch, two putt. Love it.

I used to play golf with a very young lady who hit the ball way further than almost all men. She took lessons from Jimmy Ballard who remarked he thought she was the sixth longest woman hitter in the world. She was average in size. When I asked her how she did it, she said it was turn speed. She said, "you really can't see that but Jimmy and I work very hard on that". Her father then said that the smoother she gets, the further it goes. I think she won the Florida State Women's Amateur after I moved away. She did not like to practice her short game. Too bad. They could afford Ballard because both her parents were practicing medical doctors. I recently noticed in a video that Fred "Boom Boom" Couples had tremendous turn speed as well.

Every time I watch someone with a British type accent doing golf instruction, the mats or the ground is always wet, lol. Very good point about that front leg. Most folks spin out with buckled knees. Absolutely kills the snap force at the point of compression which is one of the most common distance issues aside from the armsy no rotation swing. Very good instruction. A good thing to add would be to instruct folks to quite a lot of these drills to create the muscle memory and feeling of these stages in the swing. The other problem people have is thinking doing the drill a few times readies them for the PGA tour, lol. You HAVE to do these drills for at least 5 or 6 minutes a day each if one wants to burn them into muscle memory otherwise it’s a wasted effort. Make sense?? 👍🏻😎👍🏻

hi Mr J. Before the X swing stuff circa late 80s and 90's onward, virtually every great golfer you can think of from Vardon onwards let their hips turn completely freely, in fact at he top Vardon and Nicklaus were very similar, and Hogan particularly pre accident let those hips turn! Cheers

Might have missed it in the video but can you explain the reasoning behind why you start your driver head in the middle of your stance and not behind the ball?? It’s interesting and I’ve never thought of it before. Thanks for the informative video!

It’ll help you stay behind the ball and swing up on it rather than making contact on the downswing while also losing power.

There is one problem with this third move, this straightening left leg. There are two moves in the same moment - rotation and straightening. And this is a recipe for killing your knee joint. Those two moves together, with a lot of force, just destroy your cartilages like a shredder.
@jchowngolf
@jchowngolf Жыл бұрын
Extension of the lead side moves the lead hip back which helps massively with hip rotation, I have a few videos on this topic. Straightening the lead leg won’t destroy your knee. The lack of knee injuries on tour easily supports that

Why in the world do you and just about every golf instructor reference the ball position to the feet ? You should be referencing it to the body /chest shoulders. It look like you are suggesting having the ball somewhere about a couple of inches ahead of the left hip or maybe a (golf club) grip length ahead of the left shoulder. Using either of those references, you can then ignore the feet, using as wide or narrow a stance as you want.

Old golfers say…….drive for show, Putt for dough!, think some golfers actually believe that a change of Clubs,maybe pay to have them fitted (?🫣) and then expect to hit the Ball better, straighter, not any use of your Putting is shit!, practice, that’s the only way to improve your game, get some lessons from your Pro, might help sort your swing.🤔
