That is such a territorial female Eclectus! I love how everyone gets out of her way. I have a mature Bourke's hen that is just like that in a much smaller package. None of the boys mess with her; they just get out of her way!

Cute. Growing up we had an Amazon. She got into a fight with our Boston Terrier over a french fry. Result? The Amazon lost a feather. The dog ended up at the vet for a traumatic ear piercing. Never underestimate a parrot.😂😂😂

I got me a bare eyed cockatoo, yesterday, it is awesome, 6 yrs old..even though all the bird people said not too, I feel the cockatoo fits my personality the best, she is grooming me..!

Dogs are the best but I don’t think it’s fair to have one in an apartment so I got a green cheek that I’ve had for 6 months now, my first bird ever. I’ve had dogs and cats all my life. I was just planning on checking out my bird on Kijiji , I went to see it and I couldn’t leave it there in that house. Tiniest cage I’ve ever seen, no toys, one dowel perch and some dropper thing for water so no baths. It was heartbreaking, now she’s spoiled with everything, huge cage, out flying all day, he was feeling her seeds and fruit loop cereal, sugar. She refuses to eat greens and vegetables because she’s never had it before, she lived that way for a year and a half but I’m not giving up. I’m feeding her Harrison’s pellets high potency because we’re in Canada and I’m trying to repair the damage. My bird loves leather, I got her a box of all natural toys from Wepets and the only thing she’s interested in playing with is natural leather, untreated, vegetable tanned cord. She plays with it for hours and hours so I tie it in all the areas of the cage where she use to sit and scream at me while I was cooking or showering, problem solved. 😊

Thats funny!!! Lol! I just had this discussion with my husband I'm getting a second caique tomorrow & I was trying to convince him to be on board with this. I had once talked about getting another dog and he said , how many animal are you going to have here? I told him I would rather have another bird, dogs are great I love my two, but the love with a parrot is different. Its closer to the love of a child. If that makes sense.
