Parrot owners! How have you worked with a nippy bird before?

I’m the one with the biting GCC. Yesterday I was so tickled. As I drew near my bird’s table top tree that had treats on it instead of biting he bobbed toward the tree and bapped my arm 2x to get down. I was so proud of him.

Great video. A bird that bites isn’t just being malicious. Often they bite because, as you said, it’s the bird’s way of telling you there’s a failure to communicate. A couple of my birds are pinchers. They grab a little skin, taste and twist the skin. Not pleasant but also not a bite. They don’t have hands. Their beaks are their hands. Great video.👏👏👏

My parrot uses her beak to play with me while she laying on her back but it's really gentle although when I 1st brought her home she had to learn how hard is to hard she chews gently on my ear lobe an fingers all the time I never get actually bite

Hormonal time is the worst: Me and my tiel have a good understanding of each other, but sometimes there are mixed messages - she will bow for a head scratch, then nip straight away. Maybe its frustration, but I generally don't stroke her much if she is being broody! She is put back in the cage if she nips too hard

“This is why your parrot is biting you” It’s because I’m annoying. He doesn’t bite often but when he does it’s because I’m being annoying. Btw, here are the things that annoy him: -It’s his bedtime and he doesn’t wanna go in his cage -He’s on my shoulder and I dared move my hair out of the way so he doesn’t poop in it -He’s on my shoulder and I dare scratch my face

My bird nips me every time I try and cuddle with her, and she does cuddle sometimes but when I go away she bites me. Sometimes she even bites me on the ear for no reason when I’m doing nothing

I was reaching my fingers into the cage in a pet store petting a yellowsided GCC when it landed on my fingers and was constantly biting. I thought it was playing with me, because it always approached me whenever and wherever I put my fingers in. I thought I brought this lonely store bird some social interactions so I endured and stayed for an hour, being biten but it wasn't too bad because the bird wasn't using full strength, while sometimes it was a bit painful. Am I reasonable in interpreting that it enjoyed my presence and tried to interact with me, just didn't know the proper way?
