The problem for saka is that's his best attribute is his brain. Hes super consitent but most of his goals are simple goals. Thats because he does the optimal strategy consistently. His humbleness also makes him take the best aspects from other players games ie mbappe near post shot. Pace isn't that crucial anymore because of all the deep blocks you play against when you have the control arteta wants

I think part of it is that he just such a nice guy. Nearly all the Arsenal and England squads say the same. When you look at Haaland, Ronaldo, Henry and others they all exuded a certain edge or ‘arrogance’ that projected a bit of the ‘I’m special’ aura. Saka just doesn’t have that. He just quietly goes about his work, thanks his God and gets on with everyone. I think many peoples perception of him is influenced by that. The numbers speak for themselves but he is just a ‘nice kid’, not a superstar in the making in many people’s eyes.

To non-Arsenal fans - we're not saying he is going to have a career on that level, but based on the performance Saka has had at such a young age it suggests he is likely to have an elite career BECAUSE the vast majority of players who have been so good between ages 19 and 22 have had elite careers.

In my opinion, 2 things. The movie theory(don't know if this is right) with Saka ala Saliba. Where we saw how he struggled to get into the team and the controversy over how he was ready but not used by MA. Saka is perceived by the outside to not have gone through any of that and somehow had an easy way into the team. My 2nd opinion would be how he has fashioned his game on efficiency. How he has always made the right decision every time. The way he plays is not flashy and I think that adds to that image that he has.

This video triggered a thought in me. When you mentioned how Ferguson's tacticts allowed Rondaldo to thrive in a way differently to Saka in Mikel's system, it made me think about Diego Simione potentially being so ahead of his time, hence the longevity of his stint at Atletico. Am I onto something or chatting bollocks? Football has just become way more defensive, tactical, and therfore less entertaining now, and if you don't conform to the rigidity of that playstyle you're unlikely to go far. It's hard to think of many maverick teams who play a domineering attacking playstyle in the prem I still love it but I kind of miss the excitement of 2000s/2010 premier leage. To me that is vintage barclays. Maybe I'm just having a weird nostalgia trip lmao idk I'm super stoned.

Saka up untill now has proven to fold under real pressure. World Class players thrive under it. He has already missed two massive penalties for both club and country 1 for England v Italy and 1 for Arsenal v West Ham in the run in for the title, almost to prove that the England miss wasn't a one off deal. He is good, just not World Class yet. I agree with Rio, if and when he starts stepping up in moments like the ones mentioned above then he will be. Coming from an Arsenal fan, I think half of the problem is that he buy's into his own "starboy" hype that we've all created.

One of the last points, his play style and Arteta’s play style, has been something I’ve banged on about for a while. Is Saka good? Yes. Is he excellent? Yes. Is he world class? Maybe, or probably. He gets to display certain skillsets that a footballer possesses. He chooses, as adherence to instructions, to not do or try certain things. This results in a system-driven output (where brilliance and ability shine through in the key moments) that people might not relate to. But, still, the output is world class. My only holdup is that he won’t see the other, maybe more expressive, side of the game enough to develop into a player that can fit into any system and be effective in any system (at a world class level). We (footballing world, pundits, etc) shouldn’t doubt his ability at all. We shouldn’t doubt the output. But I think the truth is that he is spicy sometimes; that he is a dog sometimes; that he puts everything on display sometimes. And, in the end, is that a bad thing?

There are some players who in their performances show world class ability, but take years to develop the output (goals n assists). There are other players who immediately have the output but need to develop other parts of their game, Saka is in the second category for me, he has always had output, and is so consistent, but lacks an Xfactor, a Flair about his game that makes him stand out. But tbh most players these days have the flair coached out of them so it's not really surprising. He does the most important things in the game consistantly, which I guess can be considered world class

For me the term World class was completely changed by the Messi and CR7 Era, and the numbers they produced year in, year out. For me 30 goals contribution a season isn't world class, I can understand the argument of saka is not a striker. But for me world class players have a team built for them, and we saw a trend of wide forwards being the main goals source for many team in recent years and arsenal are that team at the moment with they're wingers being their superstars. Therefore for me to say Saka is a world class player he needs to be hitting the Mbappe level of goal scoring. 30+ goals plus assists per season. And Be the main man for England.

Name me today's Ronaldinho, Maldini, Batistuta, Del Piero, Desailly, Terry, Adams, Ljungberg, Henry, Peres, Zidane, Gerrard, Nedved ( I can do this all day folks) and there was no xG or records for goals back then, it was the eye test and consistency. Moments of magic on a consistent basis and opposition teams making sure THAT player doesn't perform... I haven't even named Messi, the 2 Ronaldos, Eto'o, Raúl or Hazard... Saka is average, like most of today's players. That's why City are the best. They have all of the top talent, with the best manager. Everybody else is trying to keep pace

I think it's because Saka lacks flair, and it's an exceptional dribbler. If Saka had the dribbling skills of Doku, or Mitoma, he would be considered World Class by all.

imo world class means you play for your country. be it, the top 1 position of an entire country. I think top 3 in the world I would rather call ''one of the best in the world''

I get bored with this sort conversation. For me it's Saka's or any other players value to arsenal/our team. The "WC" debate and "go compare" conversation, isn't that important. How important is the player to your club, should be the question...🤷‍♂ if a player is truly WC it will take care of itself, as it always has done...

It’s more of an eye test bias that dosent favour Saka, but the numbers don’t lie, I don’t personally think we can attribute this all to “Arsenal hate”. I think generally when players are world class they capture a level of respect amongst all fans.

Actually and unfortunately… the reality is…as a striker it’s the numbers and in Saka’s position it’s the type of goals. Lower numbers and ‘worldy’ type of goals and people would say world class. Simple.

I agree with what was said but a lot of England fans particularly don't like him. And it's naive to assume that's not at least a little based on race. The comparisons to Foden prove it. Foden plays in the best side in the world, surrounded by agreed-upon World Class talent everywhere (Haaland, De Bruyne, Rodri) and hasn't matched Saka's numbers. If his name was Brent Smith, he'd be more liked by non-Arsenal English fans.

Saka does the basics extremely well, near perfect. But world class has always come down to “moments”. I remember more Peter Crouch moments than Saka tbh…then again, the boys 22 and I personally believe he’ll become world class given where he is rn
