@@Youngin70you shouldn’t be washing your hair very often if you do you will cause dread rot /mold .If you’re actually taking care of your hair you shouldn’t have to wash it more than 2x a month.And some ppl would say I’m pushing it with that and you should wash once a month ,but i personally can’t go too long or I just feel gross.

@@theseerofit I’m a month in as well and just about ready to go for a full wash but what I’d tend to do is have a spray bottle to fill with water and it’s an easy method to keep your hair moisturized and not too damp or soaking wet, you can use it a lot too as it isn’t too much water drowning your hair

U can wash it after 2 weeks with a durag on so it doesn't unravel. However, its always best ( in my personal opinion) to have ur locticion wash n then retwist. Some (like mine) dont wash though. So i just do it myself before getting it retwisted. I can't wait till it locs n i can condition it. Im in my 3rd month.

It locs way quicker the more frequently you wash it you gotta remember people the styles date back to people in ancient Africa who used to have to fish with their bare hands in the ocean so their hair was being wet everyday, water will not damage your hair at all

U should wash it with a stocking cap so it doesn't unravel for like the first 3 months at least. After that u should be able to gently wash without the cap. N i would say only wash 1 or 2 times a month (if u dont have scalp issues).

@@AmiMakingSenseyour hairs gonna end up getting dread rot and smell terrible especially as they get long and actually loc up .Dreads are like a sponge and very hard to get fully dry so the middle of your hair will develop mold .Just letting you know why some people don’t wash their hair as often as you are,I’ve had dreads for about 6 years so I’ve been through it all.

@@coffee.3.4 please refrain from wishing bad upon me my love. There's no need to try to curse me.. especially when you haven't done proper research. As long as you allow your hair to air dry, mold will not form in between your locs. That's just simple common sense though my love. When I wash my hair I sleep without a bonet for 48 hours. It's hair.. hair is meant to be washed lol. In order for your hair to flourish you'll have to nurture it with water. We are plants whether or not you want to accept it. Let's just say hypothetically I didn't wash my hair once a week, I'd still have to spray it with water everyday in order to keep my hair moisturized. People are always trying to push their experiences onto you but what they fail to tell you is that they didn't take proper precautions. It sounds as if you just didn't take good care of your locs my love. Either way, I appreciate you for trying to warn me. Everyone's hair routine is different. We cater to our needs in our own individual unique ways. That's what's so beautiful about this world 🌎🌎🧿💕

Once a week is actually what I recommend to my clients! You shouldn’t be scared to wash you starter locs if you follow up with a retwist every 4-6 week until it’s fully locked

They will never lock washing them once a week if they starter locs. Because they will keep unraveling. Just get the dry shampoo wash. Spray your scalp, hair with it, leave on for twenty minutes, and then take a wet towel to clean your hair, and scalp.
