Nice. The shock setting at 26m does not have to be completely removed. Pull back the tab just as you did and just slide the spring out if the way to get to the jewel.

These watches should be considered bulova’s “vintage oyster perpetual” It has the timeless design and reliability many people look for. Great video keep up the good work!

M5 = 1965 on the case and M6 on the movement main plate. Love the styling and especially the luminous hand shape. The rotor is two metals, led and steel. Add moisture and you get intracrystalline corrosion. The lead suffers and swells with white crystals forming. Good job and thanks for posting.

The name of the tool you used to remove the crown is a presto tool! They're usually used for pulling hands and cannon pinions.

Good job. Taking the balance assy out as early as possible is a good tip for new folks. Unless you have an endless supply of parts, you must be careful with it. And as you showed, you'll sometimes need to work your way towards it, removing other parts. I use a razor blade to get under it to lift it off. Some staffs will break with the slightest pressure from trying to pry it up with a screw driver. As far as removing the crown/stem on watches like this; I just pull the crown out to the setting position, put tweezers (that will fit) between the crown and the case, tilt them a little to pop the crown off.
