Like the Devil's snare for example, in the books Hermione figures out that the the Devil's snare likes dark and damp and Harry goes like "So light a fire" and Hermione goes like "Yes of course but there’s no wood" and Ron tells Hermione “Are you a witch or not?” and Hermione goes like "Oh, right!". So yeaah.

I've never been a huge Ron fan, but seeing him in this rewatch really made me appreciate him more. He went through a lot as a child, being friends with Harry, and he did the best he could.

Watching Harry Potter for the first time as an adult is not the same feeling as watching it for the first time as a kid. It's truly a magical experience watching this franchise as a kid growing up along with Harry wishing you can go to hogwards as well. Kids from the 2000s grew up blessed.

Basically every movie at Hogwarts is like a whole school year. That's why you need to pay attention to the scenery in the movies cause it will subtly change sometimes to show you time has changed.

I adore Neville. I love all the little facts that we learn about him near the end of the story. It really made me look at his Character in a whole different light.

One of the things I always found hilarious in Harry Potter is that Gryffindor gets points for so many things, like "Good handling of a spoon! 10,000 points to Gryffindor!"

Honestly love (Sarcasm) how being sorted into Slytherin is basically a sentence of evil, there is no other choice for these characters. This is not just some reader view either, this is how students or teachers at Hogwarts see this as well. They treat these kids as if they have already done something wrong just by being put into Slytherin. They put the Slytherin Commons in the Dungeons for crying out loud! With the lack of room to grow socially and everyone around you expecting you to act one way. It's hard to see how many of them would be able to stray from the "path" and become anything but "evil". Throughout the series there are times when Slytherin are put at blame or ostracized just on the base that they are Slytherin. Which makes no sense, seeing as Gryffindor's are the biggest rule breakers- they tend to get away with it just on the base that their intentions were good. There are also many points that every other house also has had evil come out of it, with many death eaters coming out of all the other houses as well. It should also be noted that the greatest wizard of all time, Merlin, and the greatest evil of the wizarding world, Voldemort. Both came out of Slytherin. This and the many wizards and witches that passed through Slytherin living their lives as normal or achieving greatness proves they are more than evil, but that is not what the story itself or the characters within it would like you to think. Moreover, I think it's very stupid that after many cases of the houses going for each other's throats and dangerous to deadly bullying occurring that the house system has survived as long as it has. These students are separated greatly by societal issues like blood purity, wealth, sub races, etc. I feel like it's one of the biggest flaws of Hogwarts to continue the separation within the walls of the school. I think even if they stopped making the children sleep in different areas of the school based solely on their house it would close a lot of the divide between the students. Having them room with a member from each house and a different member from each house each year would create a better picture for them socially. I know this might to be too real for a fantasy book series, but I think there are many things within the wizarding world that are greatly flawed and only continue to aid in the recreation of the same problems this story and its main characters claim to want to change.

The Dursleys were very lucky Harry is a good person because he did most of, if not all, the cooking; so he could have easily poisoned their food.

I love that he says Vernon looks like Ms. Trenchbull. Billy, the actress that plays Trenchbull will also play Vernon's sister in the 3rd movie. (And yes, Trenchbull is the principal. Ms. Honey is the teacher)

This guy is so funny and positive! I'm enjoying his videos a lot, especially seeing how he goes figuring out and wondering while the movie progresses. I can't help imagining myself next to him, answering all his questions but trying not to make spoilers at the same time! He's obviously going to enjoy this saga, and it will be really fun to watch :D

Funny you should mention the Trunchbull. Uncle Vernon has a sister who will show up later, played by the same actress who played her in the movie.

Some facts about this movie (man, there are so many that one could've easily made a book out of them, and it's still uncertain if all of them are found): 1) When designing the Dursleys' house, the creators intentionally selected the ugliest furniture they could find to increase the impression, so to say. 2) Before the "vanishing glass" scene, a group of students dressed in bright green uniform is seen exiting the terrarium, and the scene is centered around a snake. This is a subtle foreshadowing of the Slytherin house, the colors of which are green and silver and the symbol of which is a snake. 3) In the book, Hagrid confesses that he wanted to turn Dudley into a pig, but "he is already almost a pig, so it didn't work, and only the tail appeared". 4) Also in the books, it is clarified that Filch (the caretaker whom you called Scrooge in the library scene) is a Squib - a person born in a family of wizards, but deprived of magic, this is why he is so bitter towards students. However, Squibs still have more powers than Muggles, most often being able to establish connections with animals (when his cat sees that someone is causing mischief, she "calls" for him, and he immediately appears)

Gotta feel bad for Slytherin. You work your ass off brown-nosing for a whole year and at the award ceremony the clearly biased headmaster pulls a calculated number of points out of his ass to make your rival house win. Not only that but he awarded the points to some of the least rule-abiding students at the school.

my main complaint about the movies is that James and Lily are shown to be 30/40 years old in the movies when they died at 19/20 years old which is one of the reasons its so sad - they traded school uniforms for war

You got it right! Harrys mother sacrificed herself for her son - out of love. Love is the strongest kind of magic. And the "love-magic" protected Harry when Voldemort tried to kill him. The curse rebounded onto Voldemort himself and almost killed him. Edit: Thats also the reason why Harry turned the Teacher into dust. It wasnt the stone. The love protection is still "in" him. So voldemord still cant touch Harry.

My favorite part of this reaction video was when you unknowingly predicted the future, by mentioning the resemblance between Uncle Vernon and Miss Trunchbull from Matilda. I was working the theater for the first showing of the movie, I had never heard anything about HP prior to showing up at work and seeing a huge line. I wasn't going to watch it, but took a ten minute break and caught Neville trying to fly.... So bad! But I gave it another chance, and caught the chess match and spoiler at the end, I got written up for taking too long a break... After work that night I watched it, and then the next day, which I had off, I watched it twice... I've been hooked ever since, and have the audiobooks playing on my vehicle stereo, shuffling all 199 chapters. I love watching people discovering it for the first time. You're awesome. 😂

The time line is roughly 1 year. It starts in late June with Dudley's birthday then ends a year later in early June with Harry finishing his first year and going back home. School starts for them in September so they have roughly a 3 month summer. So, no, everything didn't happen in one day 😅

Yes, the music is absolutely amazing ❤ ( as a violinist I’ve got to say, compared to other film music, it’s extremely challenging to play 😅 we’re playing a concert suite from goblet of fire in orchestra rn, it’s got many very fast runs and at least in 1st violin very high notes that often go until Bb6, which is not very nice to play 🥴)

I don't think I laughed so hard in any of your movie reviews. I never expected seeing this series on your channel I'm 100% in for the ride.

Fun fact, when turban man tells Harry about the broom and why it went all crazy during the quidditch match. If you look closely at the scene again you can actually see voldemort is cursing the broom by slightly moving his lips while snape is actually trying cast a protection but they made it seem so opposite cuz they made snaps mouth move so much more. Then when the fire happens the voldemort in the turban also freaks out which causes the broom to stop shaking

Fun fact about this movie, Robin Williams really wanted to do this, if he were to go for one of the roles he would’ve either wanted to be Hagrid or someone who makes an appearance and the third movie. I don’t wanna say because I don’t wanna give spoilers to Billy.

The original title for this book/film is Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. The UK 1st released the book with this title but for some reason when it was released in the US the title was changed to "Sorcerer's Stone"
