For all viewers: I feel very happy that I was a donor, and continue to be a donor daddy for the children. I am happy that each child is born healthy and made the lives of the families complete. The families choose me not for my looks but because I am a very good donor, always kind, caring and always available to help them when the ovulation was due. I gave a very valuable chance to the families: they did not have to pay $5000 like in the clinics, they had fresh and healthy sperm (frozen is of lower quality) and I delivered in their house, and my identity was known DIRECTLY (instead of waiting 16 years). This made me a very wanted and very good donor that many people wanted to have, because I take being a donor very Serious. The allegations that I have lied to recipients is a difficult one, but I have to be very straightforward: donors and clinics are NEVER obligated to share the amount of offspring towards anyone. It is the donor and clinics right to keep this information private. As a private donor I gave parents an approximate number so that they knew that I was not only donating once or exclusive. It is common practice at clinics that parents pay up to $10.000-25.000 to "block" their donor so that he will be esxclusive to them. I was never this way I wanted to give everybody a chance. There are questions about narcissism and sociopathy but in my 17 years being a donor I have visited many houses and people even let me stay over for the night, nobody ever had experience anything creepy about me or that I stole something or anything like that. People all say that they feel very comfortable about letting me be with their children. I did thought it was good to stop in 2019 though to help NEW recipients, as the number reached 550. After that I only helped existing families with siblings. There was no start up plan to go up to a larger number as a donor, it just grew over the 17 years as demand for donors is HIGH. I do think I am one of the best and most caring donors out there and I know that in a few years people will see the good in my actions and my intentions. If you really are upset about me or something, well then get off your lazy bum and run to the nearby sperm bank to help to solve this problem. You can judge me but if man keep on being lazy bums and playing video games then the shortage will continue. If you want to see about my perspective on inbreeding watch this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/br2disl6ysvSgJs.html

What people want is honesty so that those children can know they are half-siblings and avoid having any relationships with each other. It’s only moral for you to accept the decision you made, first by lying to them that you only had a maximum of 5, or 25 kids, yet the number was different. For the sake of those children, please be transparent and so that they know their siblings and avoid making decisions that could be detrimental to their morals, their family and their own individuality. That’s the best you can do. For the sake of these children. Forget the parents. Do it for the children. As a Kenyan, you really disrespected my country with your racist and bleaching comments. This is a wild world, yes. I think that if you were open and honest with these families about how many it would have made a difference. Were you? People are usually untruthful about things they feel are either wrong, immoral or things that can hurt others. If you felt so strongly that you weren’t in the wrong why not be honest with them and then let them decide if they would be ok having a donor with so many other children? I’m sure you still would have found families that would have been ok with it. Personally I think donation all the way around isn’t the answer. Adopt. Think of all the change you could have made if your efforts were put forth toward getting children adopted out from all those countries you visited? All the places you have been surely have orphanages…

Hello, from Ecuador, I saw the Netflix documentary, but I didn't understand it as something feminist, people want, rather long for, the best for their children, physical, mental and spiritual health, and that's fine, they selected you because they considered a good option in you, I do not justify their mistakes, especially in obtaining the donation privately, since in the end there are now many boys and girls who are linked by paternal consanguinity, and this is precisely what is worrying, since You have donated too much and in different places, making it more difficult to identify that blood union, which can bring future problems to your sons and daughters around the world. If everyone knew who their siblings were and could avoid falling in love or having a physical relationship with each other it would be great, but it's complicated. I hope that you can put aside your purpose or objective of donating and having so many descendants, and that you think about the fatal consequences that this can have, in addition to the psychological effects on your sons and daughters of knowing the truth. My language is Spanish, so I used a translator, if something is not understood or is wrong I apologize.
@MiriamBluewaterАй бұрын
Well said - the main thing is Consanguinity which is the kinship of two individuals characterized by the sharing of common ancestor(s). In some countries, consanguinity is a common feature and marriages among relatives occur widely, particularly in rural areas, the most prevalent type being between first cousins. BUT .. the motive of those in Netflix documentary is disingenuous. They wanted a baby for perhaps good or selfish reasons and they made their own choice to touch a tar baby - they too should be held responsible for participating and being naive There were enough signs when some couples KNEW he had over 20 children when they asked him to donate to have another

No judgment yet but considering in that town they had many of your children aren't you at all concerned about genetic problems if they start having kids with each other? Also, the biggest thing imho in the documentary was that they said you were lying to people. Like they implied you lied to everyone everywhere you went, that you told them all you were only doing it for 5 families. Do you have a statement on tbat?

Humans have been interbreeding for thousands of years with relatively few problems. How else do you think blonde hair and blue eyes developed?
@jarasimonson4040Ай бұрын
All parents know who he is, he also used his actual name when he met them. So all kids can know.. they’ll probably just talk about it and get to know rather quickly whether or not they’re related. Especially when they look alike a bit. When your dad is a donor this possibility is there always I guess.. It isn’t really favourable.. it’s part of having a donor as a father in general I think.. on the other hand he does this for free. The clinics even make lots of money with this. When an institution does this it’s always okay.. I do remember a show on tv with kids who had the same donor father (not Jonathan) who started meeting each other, I think there were about 50 at the time of filming but they were still counting. In that show the kids liked meeting half siblings. I don’t think this is favourable and I wouldn’t really like it for my kids. It is hard to say anything about this really.. or come up with a definite standpoint. There are so many variables..

My thoughts: 1. Strictly working with sperm banks would have stop the legal action. It would have put the liability on them for not maintaining their database. 2. Transparency and limited access to sperm would be the key to prevent nearly most of these issues. 3. The woman should have done their research before inquiring for a donor. Doing things cheap and haphazard leads to stupid decisions . Overall the children are affected by poor choices made from both parties. 4. Accountability and an apology might rebuild one’s reputation. I would recommend staying out of the public eye for a while. 5. Be there for the kiddos with the mums who are open to you bonding. 6. Move forward and focus on personal development. It might be difficult for you to find a partner for a while.
@teacherlisa163Ай бұрын
?!?! Some of these comments are so shockingly criticizing. He has no reason to apologize or stay out of the public's eye (4). He has already been in their lives (5). Personal development?! (6). On the other hand he did this all for free (I think when donating at a spermbank you get a small amount) the clinics make insane amounts of money.. when an institution makes tons of money it’s usually not discussed.. the bigger the company/government institution the more commonly accepted it seems to be.. also Netflix makes a lot of money.

How can they fine you for something you're doing out of their jurisdiction? Is that common in the Netherlands? The parents were so happy to have the kids from a man they have themselves chosen because he has beautiful blond hair, blue eyes, and nice skin. They picked him, no one else picked him for them. He did not use a bogus face. Some were happy to get the donation the 'natural way'. They figured they hit the genetic jackpot. Then they became angry and upset because many others also have what they had thought was their very "exclusive" sperms. Imagine all the African and Asian half siblings! Their beautiful Aryan families now have black and Asian relatives, oh my, the travesty. Incest is not really a huge concern, a simple DNA test tells all. Besides, according to the bible, we all came from Adam and Eve, we are still ok, aren't we? Nobody has ever complained about it, why now?

1. I can understand the shock of the mothers who paid a lot of money to what they thought were serious and professional donor companies (but, in fact, the companies did not bother to invastigate the past of the donors properly or enforce the law). 2. I have little sympathy for the mothers who received his sperm privately or had sex with him in order to get pregnant faster and save money. When you shop at "Craigslist" for sperm, you better do your due diligence. Asking an individual person some questions is not enough. 3. Jonathan seemed to have taken advantage of a broken system, but it also seems that he truly wanted to help many families (not taking money from private families and being an open donor). 4. The bottom line - no family would have chosen to go back in time and not have their child. In my opinion, that is the most important thing.
