I love how they built up Sonic and Dr. Robotnik's rivalry. And Dr. Robotnik is one of the most hilarious villains I've ever seen. Every single thing he does is just so extra. Jim Carrey's performance in incredible.

The very first time I watched this, I HATED Jim Carrey's performance. It was too over-the-top for me, and I was not ready. Then, when I bought 2, I re-watched 1, and the 180 I did was crazy. Robotnik's entire shtick IS over-the-top, and I had forgotten that.

what I like about Jim Carrey's performance here is that despite the goofiness there's sometimes actual malice in his eyes. like 14:11. allows the villain to still have enough of a presence to be threatening beyond just shooting at them with lasers.

Fun fact: my dad actually has an arcade machine upstairs near our movie theatre room (our movie theatre room has 6 black leather movie chairs, a mini fridge, and a microwave, A MICROWAVE YALL! Hmm anyways…) and he has all the old SEGA video games like Sonic, Zelda, Mario, etc. I love playing the old Sonic games but the first few levels are a little hard for me since I never played the game 😅, but I still love it so much 😊

4:56 That movie is called Speed. I personally love that movie and the sequel but a lot of people don’t like them (many hate the second one more than the first). I think everyone should watch it at least once and decide for themselves if they like it though 😅

Did you know turtles chirp to call others and can pure when you clean their shells? :0 I had 2 turtles but unfortunately one died during covid for an infection the vet couldn't cure so now the other is really lonely but we try to spend as much time we can with her. If you want a turtle remember to keep them as clean as possible, that's the main rule :]

I mean to be fair. They usually work because they have their own power source. But if an EMP goes off (which is basically what happened) anything electrical that is on should be out - included Phone lines own power - Of course I could be wrong though but that was my thought

@kaiyaAquamarine....As a person that grew up using landlines..thats the whole point. True landlines ( not the ones connected to the internet these days) don't use electrical power. There were phone lines all around town. So when there was a power outage, the phones still worked.😢

Remember us always calling my grandma when the power was out to make sure she was okay (She lived in the country and without power she has no water). Was just meaning if an EMP goes off would that destroy a phone line or not? Since that is basically what it was that went off in the movie (at least to me).

The shoes in the movie were actually Pumas, based on the Women's Puma Dares, just recolored to match the games. A completely different company, Fila, had a timed exclusive recreation (minus the Puma logo) to tie in with the second movie (which I was fast enough to order)

The first Sonic trailer was the greatest marketing stunt in history. The entire internet was sharing and mad about how sonic looked. EVERYBODY was talking about it and all they had to do was release 1 trailer with a terrible sonic design. And they fixed it and completely redid the computer graphics real quick. It was all marketing.

I had a hedgehog before. Named him Fabio. lol. His quills hurt when holdin him but i got use to it after awhile. lol. The pain got worse if he was popping and hissing if he got angry. His belly was soft tho. Overall they're so cute with their tiny faces and little feetsies. lol
