I'm Vietnamese, and Im actually from da nang so great to see that!! Its very cool you travels to another part of da nang, the long place ive seen is where my family lives and its very different so glad to see & learn a different part of my county I don't know about!! Oh wow you went to hoi an too! (I went there a lot of times and if there's lanterns people are selling I suggest do not buy them, only because when they go far away they will just sink and you just wasted money. They talk your way in to buying it a lot of times. One of the reasons are “this will bring you good luck!” but its your money, your body, your choice so I respect it. just my opinion.)

I'm a Vietnamese in Hanoi and I must say that Da Nang holds a special place in my heart. I've been there like 5 6 times already and i cannot get enough of it :v;. The food is good, accomodation is top tier, people are nice, etc. tbh you can go to any random food stall orr restaurant there and will always receive like godly food lol

You are my favourite foodie because you eat/try all the herbs that come with the dishes, they are the literal highlight of each dish 😂

And for the meat that you wonder at 12:23, any type of meat with that texture, we would called it "giò" or "chả", it is typically made with mince meat (pork or beef or might be mince mushroom if you are vegan) mix with flower and good quality fish sauce, then steam it for like a hours with medium to low heat. Your container when steaming would also decide the taste to, we would usually layer a layer of banana leaves before put the meat mixture to the container. Yours in the video must be a giò made by beef.

Omg the banh mi on the beach looks picturesque 👌🏼 what a combo

What you had with the "banh uot" which is the non-stuffed version of "banh cuon" ... means they just give you the rice noodles without rolling it up with stuffing. That meaty roll that you like looked a bit brown in colour so most likely beef roll (cha bo) which should be very fragrant with garlic. The whiter version is pork (cha lua). Basically they grind the meat to a paste and season it then steam them wrapped in banana leaf.

Btw the name "banh cuon" doesn't refer to the entire dish, it specifically refers to the rolled rice sheets you eat, the other components are just accompaniments that make the dish more flavourful

Aww man u should've tried chè for dessert, especially when you were in Đà Nẵng. That place so popular for good chè. Chè is like a sweet soup that has so many variations and we eat it with crushed ice, it is so refreshing those hot summer days.
