I talked about this with my friend about how we wished the villagers were still mean or at least still a little mean (especially the snooty and cranky types) like the old games. Cause it made interactions interesting, it gave you drama and it actually have you a reason to hate a villager that wasn’t just cause they’re ugly.

They used to talk so much! I had a normal villager telling me they found a letter a few days ago and then I waited til they showed me the letter like in WW but it never came the subject closed and the dialog too 💀

I just kicked out sherb the other day finally. He started being extremely creepy. He kept giving me the bone costume over and over, and was singing hypno kk for an entire two hours until I closed the game, and kept spawning right outside my fucking house. I didn't find anyone despite hunting for nearly 24 hours straight (I know in my defence I am stupid) and ran out of tickets so that was. .. An event.

I found Sherb on one of my first mystery island (where you craft the items for their homes) I thought he was cute so I took him, but then he sent me a dolly in the mail which was weird but I ignored it. Not long after I saw him with a thought bubble, so I thought he was leaving which I didn’t mind. Instead, he said something along the lines of “I have too many magnetic knife racks, then handed one over to me and then said, sorry but I need you to take it”. Kicked him off immediately

I have a similar story to your story about Rodney So it was a lovely day in New Leaf and I was just strolling around and saw a pretty empty looking area in my town and I thought “I know, I’ll put a rainbow spiral of flowers here!” Now I spent ages getting all of the different colours of the flowers (I didn’t time travel at the time so this took a few days) and then I finally finished it. I was so happy with it and then I logged off for the day. A few days after I finished it, I logged in and was like “oh! I’ll go look at my cool flower spiral I made!” And when I got there. The flowers were gone. Want to know why? BECAUSE STUPID MONIQUE PLACED HER HOUSE RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FLOWERS 😀🔫

i agree with ur stance on ugly villager hate, but im sorry i cant tolerate the gorilla villagers. i have a huge fear of gorillas because of that spongebob episode where he got ripped in half by a gorilla. rillaboom makes me go into primal panic. its the howling that scares me they just have massive teeth and massive muscles and silverbacks could rip me to ribbons without breaking a sweat

okay i’ve had sherb since i chose my 3 villagers at the beginning of the game and honestly i kind of like the idea of him being vaguely psychotic? like we don’t really have anyone who can fight, our snooty villagers could make anyone cry but if someone was invading the island with guns we’d be in trouble, but then sherb appears out of nowhere with a copious amount of knives and his happy little ( ^ω^ ) face

Well, one day she ran up to me and wanted my nintendo switch and offered to swap it with a surprise item she had. I thought it would have to be an item worth the same amount... Nah, she handed me sunflower glasses for my switch. I was so annoyed I gave her the glasses straight back and she had the audacity to say "Hmm I recognise these" and the bitch wore them everywhere, all the time, to basically rub it in. Omg your experience with Rodney was my experience with Gwen. She gave me an awful nickname and said some patronising comments and I wanted her out. I did everything I could like hitting her with a shovel, pushing her in pitfall holes, not talking to her and eventually she considered leaving. I was so happy I said yes leave and she turned around and made some snappy comment about not leaving that easily and stayed! I was fuming 🤣😂 so I get the hatred 😅

Omg I HATE Rodney!! 😂 my husband had him in his island and tried to kick him out for ages because he found him a bit annoying and when he finally kicked him out of his island , he ENDED UP IN MINE because I had an open plot 😩. I had two open plots and filled one and didn’t know villagers could come from other islands. So he moved in and was super annoying and creepy, he would hit on Ankha , and would hide at random areas and sing without a radio in sight around the island, so sometimes I’d just hear singing but not see him. I would just ignore him, and one day I hardly pushed him trying to get around him and he started acting like I beat him up 😆, so I started to gift him trash 😝 . He was so … annoying, and remembered by husband from living in his island. It took me like two months to finally get rid of him.

In my new leaf town i put my house on its own corner and put flowers everywhere in a pattern and loved how it looked! (This was before the amiibo update where it prevents villagers from putting their houses on your flowers) I woke up to a house immediately in front of my door and i was so upset! It was Bella and she trampled all of my flowers! Now I still don't like her. XD

Ok abt the stop hating on the ugly villagers: U R SOOOO RIGHT! Ok my story on why i LOOOOOVE renée and i miss her soo much: So i had this town (the name doesn't matter), and she was my starter. At first I didn't rlly like her so i was planning to kick her but she grew on me for three reasons: 1. SHE FRIGGING COOL 2. She came to my bday party 😌✨ 3. She sent me a letter telling me that she found some pics of her and her old friends doing cringey things, AND THE EPILOGUE OF THIS LETTER LITERALLY WAS: still cringing abt these, Renée. This was when i said: I LOVE RENÉE WITH MY WHOLE HEART.

there actually is a method for placing villager houses in new leaf, welcome amiibo made it so villagers can no longer move on top of paths, so you can place pathing around your town to force them to move into a certain spot. i used that method in my current town to place my villager houses in a line, it’s a huge pain in the ass but it’s worth to not have them move in front of your buildings

MY SECOND ONE WAS BISKIT. But I already HAVE a lazy, and I was looking for a sisterly, but I was like, "OMG ANGRY COCONUTTTT". I remember as a kid there was this like, goth rabbit (forgot her name) and I hated her so much because she shouted at me for not liking her house even though I never said that. And it was so bad that I posted a town notice slagging her off

We go for looks because Nintendo took the personality. The characters actually had different reactions and everything in the other games So, looks it’s all we have now
