Dawson is one of my favorite auditions so far. It must be a personal preference thing…I’m annoyed by the attention-craving singers. But I’m captivated by soulful, emotionally deep performances. Dawson did that really well. Most beautiful things are in our quiet, hidden spaces. It feels like Dawson understands that concept - based on his guitar playing, song choice, and melodic delivery.

Fight them, Clark! He's great! Talent delivery is diverse and you have a great ear and eye for it. I almost always agree with you. :)

I liked him. I was a little underwhelmed, but it may have just been the song choice. Truthfully I think it's hard when a singer plays their instrument so well that sometimes the instrumental is more powerful than the vocal. That may have happened here.

I can't stand when judges say sing louder. Also, he was much better with the guitar than without. I actually didn't love his second take vs first.

The "boring" comments that happen a lot these days to both ballads and soft country/singer songwriter bug the **%* outta me. No one has the sensibility these days to actually listen to a lyric or just hear a song being played without a rhythm track and a dance groove. But for me, it's generational...I grew up in the era of the singer songwriter and I love pure country...so yea...I like him. "Borrrring" to me are the people who can't vibe with a nuanced song and singer.

He could go far...just by being a good looking country singer, but vocally didn't do much for me

Non threatening WGWG. I didn't dislike the guy, but not special either. The accent feels like a novelty that would get old, fast. I'd rather they'd asked for something with a different feel or groove.
