I remember an AI contestant choosing New Shoes to sing during Hollywood Week and Randy looking at him like he was an alien. He didn't get it dawg.

Older fan here. My mom was a teen usher in the 50s and saw Chet Baker, as well as Billie Holiday, perform. She had a big ole crush on Chet Baker. A month ago we held a memorial for her, our playlist had a big helping of Chet. Thank you for your thoughtful list. Looking forward to the rest!

I love hearing the Patrick Stump story! I have a similar one of meeting someone I truly admire and respect - not even a celebrity - and completely lost function of my thoughts and speaking voice. I also felt like a total idiot, and she just smiled at me and walked away. 🤦♀️😂

Love Clark but this list is absolutely silly season time.. dude, is not a rocker .. has no clue what great 'albums' are .. lol
@elenashapiro766215 күн бұрын
The thing is, this list is Clark’s favorites albums…not yours, so it’s his preferences, which means your opinion on whether the list is good or not is actually irrelevant!
@a2zme15 күн бұрын
@@elenashapiro7662 He didn't say 'favorite' .. he said 'best' .. BIG difference between those two things
@elenashapiro766214 күн бұрын
@@a2zme the point is that the list isn’t claiming to be the the one and only all time list that we all should agree with! Read the title bro!! “Top 50 Albums of All Time according to Clark” ACCORDING TO CLARK . He didn’t say according to everyone, or according to musicians, or according to a research study group! So unless there’s a private joke I’m not aware of I just think your comment about his list was unnecessary and judgmental.

At age 72 I've had a lot of time to marvel at what people either like or don't like musically. I produced music tracks in New York City for thirty- five years; and with a deep love for jazz and select modern classical music, I incorporated my brand of production style that was great in its own right, but not at all close to the depth and polish of Jacob's work. Every single time I hear this production and other Collier productions, I end up crying like a baby. If you've spent a lifetime drawn to dense harmony in jazz and classical and have heroes that embody this approach- you simply are in awe and swept away by the beauty inside this kind of thinking. He is WAY over the top as he readily admits, but for me I'll NEVER get too much of this kind of depth of thought and emotion. It's like I've been waiting a lifetime until this amazing human being showed up. What's more is his authenticity as a human being and TRUE humility concerning his talent and vision. I watched your reaction and was happy to see your emotional response. This all said, there are those who can't fully get on board with it- like "It's really good... but...". I fault no one if they feel this way, but for me- I have found the first greatest hero in Jacob Collier in about 50 years. All I can say is for a musical man over 70 years old- This guy's work is beyond astounding and beyond classification. 👍👍👍👍👍

Joined this season around Top 10 week, and immediately I saw there was one standout performer and that was Abi Carter, hands down. (I didn't see her audition until later, on KZfaq, but had I, I'd agree with Luke and Lionel... I'd've called it for her, right then and there, she's that good.) Will Mosely will do great in Country, but I think he could be the second coming of Bob Seger as well. McKenna can go on to a Katherine McPhee like career. Kaibrienne is the other singer who can connect emotionally with the audience. When she is pushed, and throws caution to the wind, she can really deliver. I think she just needs to gain some confidence, because she has the talent and the gift. The one person I missed, and I'm so happy they gave him his moment in the finale is Roman Collins. I think that guy really delivers the goods and I'm sure he'll have a great career. He's a great performer. All that said, Katy was right. This year, for the first time in many years, American Idol had a bumper crop of talent. So many of them have the talent to go pro. The class of 2024 (Idol Season 22) really have set the bar very high for all those who come after. As the saying goes, they are going to be a very tough act to follow.

A lot of Megan fans preferred her version of the Soul song over Emmy Russell's, and it was nice. But I do think Emmy and Emyrson's performances of it had more of an identity. Crazy how three seasons have covered it back to back.

My guess is the cheesy announcements of who makes it are on a teleprompter of some sort. I don't think Ryan siked out Olivia (and Cadence the year before) on purpose. Two exceptions I can think of to getting the crowd up and going: Kelly Clarkson Stuff Like That There and Constantine Bohemian Rhapsody. Oh, and I also have a soft spot for Jena's Clarity. Ada Vox was a S16 contestant who was in danger, sang last, and also picked "I'm Not Going." She was also one of two contestants to be saved right after they finished. Like, before the official results even took place.
