I am Ken Abroad, a full-time traveler traveling southeast Asia, east Asia and south Asia. It is my goal here on the channel to visit every country in these Asian regions and bring you along the journey.
You won’t see many tourist places in my videos, I rather like to show the “real” sides of each country in my videos. Where do the local people go to eat? Where do they hang out? How do the locals travel through the country? Stuff like that.

In the part where you bought the topi(hat) and you asked for a translation, they were discussing how to put the topi properly on you as you can see the peak is tucked a bit inside at 29:53 before putting it on :). They were discussing whether to make tuck it before you wore it or after. They were also thoughtful because they showed you a range of topis according to price range and not just the expensive ones. They put the flower as ritualistically when someone does "pooja" then they put tika on forehead and flower on topi as a blessing. So basically the person blessed you :)

Wow, what a great start to your Nepal adventures. It's indeed an interesting and impressive tour of Kathmandu town. As always, you are ever ready to try new food in each and every country you travelled to. Yeah, first start with that yummy lassi, buffalo momos, milk tea, and some snacks. Haha...you are too tall for that snack shop...your head is almost touching the ceiling 😂 That Garden of Dreams looks beautiful...lots of squirrels roaming around 😅 Quite surprised to know that father's name is needed when getting a SIM card. A very nice looking Nepali topi. You look like a local now, what more with that red pottu on your forehead 😄 Great to see your interactions with the locals there...very friendly and welcoming. Shout-out to that kind uncle and young girl (with tie) for their help. Another amazing video with amazing content. Thank you very much for sharing, Ken.

Ken, guten abend. That reddish motichoor ko laddu is made from besan (garbanzo flour), flavoured with cardamom, topped with almond slivers. Yummy. The Nepalese are lovely folks and this kingdom is known for producing the Gurkha soldiers who justly earned the sobriquet “the ultimate fighting machine” attested by their loyalty, bravery & fearlessness in battle! The enemies would shiver in their pants when they see the deadly kukris of these formidable soldiers! The Nepalese workers in Malaysia are the best of the many foreigners working here.

32:40 Actually you were right, Ken. The cloth that is use to make the Dhaka Topi is from Dhaka, Bangladesh. Previously the cloth was brought from Dhaka and the topi is made in Nepal itself. But now we know how to make the cloth as well so both the cloth and the topi is made in Nepal. This is the reason why our ancestors called it "Dhaka Topi".

Topi is a type of taqiyah cap that is worn in Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, and other regions of South Asia. Many different types of topi caps include the Sindhi cap, worn in Sindh and the crochet topi that is often worn at Muslim prayer services. The Taqiyah (Arabic: طاقية, also known as tagiyah or araqchin (Persian: عرقچین) is a short, rounded skullcap. It is often worn for cultural or religious purposes. (excerpt from Wikipedia)
