Veggies that I am leaving behind in 2022...do you agree or disagree with my opinions of these veggies? Im curious to know how others feel about them! For me personally, they will never have a spot in my garden again, but that doesn't mean they don't bring other people joy! I am so excited for the upcoming growing season and I look forward to bringing you all along with me this year. New year, new me putting more effort into this channel!

I love your channel, epic gardening sent me your way 😊 I have to say, I must be super lucky after reading all the comments on here, I grew yellow pear two different years and both times they were super yummy! Maybe it’s the super hot Texas heat that did them well? Can’t wait to binge watch your channel!

Same here! I planted it just to plant it because I found the seeds in my stash and they ended up being the most prolific plant that year and produced well into November for me (im right next door to you and have those endless summers as well ) now it’s the first tomato plant I plant each year. I find them to be very sweet and flavorful and I love snacking on them while in the garden - they rarely make it inside 😅

When your egg plant is bitter rub it with salt and leave it on my mom always do this with any eggplant. Also with cucumber if it's bitter the plant got stress you can cut the top of and rub it there will be white stuff coming out

I love these kinds of videos, it's so interesting to hear other gardener's successes/fails/opinions! I honestly wonder if basil has some scent markers similar to devil's lettuce...Because some people can pick out all these crazy scent notes and for others it just smells skunky. For me the blue spice basil smells really sweet, almost like bubble gum maybe? But there's definitely an underlying earthiness that might be stronger to other people, so fascinating!

Omg that’s so weird!! I’ve heard a few people say they don’t mind the smell but most say they hate it. Maybe it’s like a cilantro situation but with smell instead of taste? Some people smell sweet and some smell sour? To me it just smells like stinky feet! 😂

Okay so I'm watching this a year later - but I am SO with you on the watermelon front! They truly are not worth the time and trouble invested in them! I also struggled with telling when they were ready...and it was so disappointing to slice one of the precious few watermelons I got open, and find it was either not ripe enough or too ripe. So no more melon growing for me either - and the Kajari melons either! I hope you stuck to your I-ain't wasting-no-time-on-watermelons guns this year. 😂

I agree! Watermelon are just too much trouble. Too much energy wasted, and energy is precious to a gardener! I did let my niece plant one in my garden this year because she loved watermelon and wants to see one grow, but I’ve already warned her about the heartache that may happen lol. I’m not getting any hopes up

We chose glass gem corn bc it's a flint corn for grinding and popping 😬

I agree with all of these except blue spice basil and okra. I let the basil dry out then grind it. It has a heavenly aroma. I don't mind the spines if that's what it takes to harvest good okra. ✌️

I might have to actually try out that Blue Spice Basil! 😂 ❤ I'm trying to keep out unwanted guests: mosquitos and people. #hermitlife

The thing with glass gem corn is, don't grow it if you want sweet corn. It's great as a corn for popcorn or grinding. If you like corn for grain, then it's a fun addition because the color is out of this world. For sweet corn, hard pass. I'm with you on peppers. I love hot sauce, but one year of peppers gives me enough fermented jars to last a very long time. Just not worth growing every year. I love Baker Creek, and their seeds are always reliable, but I always get sucked into the weird stuff. Never growing Lychee Tomato ever ever ever again. Attracted bees like crazy which was good, but no plant has ever made me bleed so much, and it just doesn't taste that good.

Very good video, thanks for sharing your experience with us! I watched some of your tik toks and shorts, they were very good, however I think KZfaq versions would be excellent! Can't wait to see the planning and veggies that you'll be growing!

Thank you so much! Yes I’d love to focus a little more on KZfaq this year and do some more in depth explanations 🤞🏼 KZfaq just takes a lot more time and I have a full time job! But I’m so excited for the upcoming growing season! ❤️

I completely agree with the yellow pear and black strawberry. Unfortunately I grew like 10 plants of the pear last year and it was SUCH a waste of garden space. I loved the Great White but only had one plant of it, so it didn’t matter if they didn’t last since they got eaten right away. 🙂

First of all, you're darling. Next, I've loved growing cantaloupe so much. I also love them. I tried peanuts once and got a few but I'm in zone 6 and it just wasn't long enough of a growing season. Thanks for all of your thoughts on the rest of your plant experience!

Thank you so much!! 💕 cantaloupe are so underrated. I’m having a whole patch next year! I also wanted to give peanuts a go but I wasn’t sure how they’d do here in zone 7b either…but I will try anything once! Thank you for watching and I hope you’re having an amazing year so far!

I enjoy your videos. I had to chuckle about blue spice basil. It's one of my favorites - probably #1 for aroma and I also enjoy the tea. Just goes to show different folks like different things. What part of NC are you in? I'm in Winston Salem.

I have grown the Richmond Green Apple Cucumber two years in a row and theyve been very nice for me. Pick them off the vine and eat them like an apple. Must be a difference in growing conditions or taste preference. Thank you for sharing your thoughts they definitely influence opinions on purchasing seeds.

Definitely may be a difference in preference! I find that those and the lemon cucumbers- you just either love them or hate them. What matters is that you love them! 💚

Very late here. What happens to the leftover seeds? I had a seed purge a couple years ago and glad I did bc I had a lot of old seed that didn't come up! Kind of chaos gardening. I let the parsley bolt this year and it's freaking alive with pollinators! My point being is to go ahead and plant the bolting cilantro for the pollinators somewhere where it can go wild 😜

This video reflects your tastes but not mine so much. I love Kajari melons, and when I walk by different basils, I enjoy their fragrance. I grow some of the hot peppers for their looks, just as I would grow flowers. I Iove white tomatoes. I grow one yellow pear every year because I like it to brighten up salad but last year in our heat, it actually had flavor.

I'm with you on the spikes on the okra! I tried Okinawa pink and am not growing it again. I was hoping the jing orange and red variety would be better but it sounds like I may have to pass that along too :(

They’re just as spiky unfortunately 😫 unless you get a spineless variety they’ll have spikes. I hate it!

Live in NC also n gave up on cilantro quickly 😂 I actually use large leaf parsley in my guacamole n you wouldn't be able to taste the difference. Love your take with the apocalypse scorpion pepper lol we've had enough in 2022 😂

I wasn't a huge fan of lemon squash either. It wasn't a big producer, and then the fruit was so small that it didn't make it worth it.

Brad's atomic grape tomatoes. They were plentiful, and cool to look at, but plain tasting. Just blah. Not worth the room in my garden.
