Working for deity is not the same as worshiping deity. In this Video I take a few mins to try answer a community question regarding that difference.

I want to share that my experience and calling to Dagda is similar. He slowly entered my life, gently, last summer, but when my dog died in my arms last Nov, he fully came to me, wrapped his arms around me in comfort. This was a profound and life changing event. He is the only God who has called to me, and I have started the spiritual journey of druidism after this beautiful experience. I am so grateful for your videos, which has helped me tremendously, thank you and blessed be

I find it very interesting that this video popped up as suggested by KZfaq because I found my copy of Morgan Daimler’s The Dagda: Meeting the Good God of Ireland last night and set it out last night to start reading today

So I kid you not, the Dagda actually led me to this video. He told me that though I don't work with him, I do work with Herne who is very close with him but I also have been connected to so many different Gods and Goddesses from all these different pantheons. From Anubis to Freyr to Ashur to Dagon to Yarikh to Nabu to Pazuzu and it goes on but basically Dagda told me that I was spreading myself way too thin and in some cases, asking the wrong deities to do work for me and with me because some things I would ask just wouldn't be in their wheelhouse because of differing energies. He told me my role is actually more complex than just being the run of the mill witch. He said he knows what I want and he's working on getting things in place for me because not only am I a worshipper of Herne, I'm also his avatar and I'm not in a position currently where I can do the work that I need to for him and he understands that. So it sounds crazy I know. It may even sound egotistical to some people that read this but that is not the intent here. I'm genuinely just trying to piece things together because I've had multiple deities and pretenders attempt to use me as an avatar for them and it's not something that Herne has taken lightly. Basically it literally took The Dagda telling Herne that because I was just beginning to spiritually open up that I needed to get used to the idea that even though I'm still me, someone else was going to be riding along and occasionally driving so to speak. I've given my energy to these beings and these deities in the process and honestly, it felt like being in a one-sided relationship and I kept wondering what I was doing wrong. So then finally Herne managed to actually talk to me in a dream and said that I was not the problem. These deities would lure me in with attraction and attachment and empty promises just to take my energy so they could use it for the people that actually work with them. He explained that the Gods in that sense are just like humans. Anything for a leg up. I still don't know what's so special about me. I live day to day hoping just to survive (currently homeless) and I feel no genuine connection to anyone around me which is a red flag in and of itself. So it's like why choose me? And tell me if any of you guys have ever gone through this because I genuinely still feel like I'm going insane despite the fact that the Dagda and Herne are both telling me I'm not.

Thank you for this Jon. Helps me to find more clarity and confidence here at the beginning of my journey. I connected with Brighid first and the Dagda later. I know you're not necessarily involved with Brighid in a comparable way, but i was wondering whether you had anything to share on work connected to two deities who are so closely related. Hope that's not a silly question!

Jon, you’ve mentioned in several of your videos that you now connect with the Dagda from the role of a father. I’d love to see a video about everyday, practical examples of how you personally connect with the Father aspect of the Dagda for others who are doing similar work. 🤗 ETA: My patron deity brought it to my attention that I need to focus on some reparenting work on my father’s side, and that getting to know her father would be a GOOD thing to do. 😉🤷‍♀️ So here I am. Always appreciate this authentic Irish connection! Thank you.

I'm not sure if you're going to see my comment after all these months, but the way you talk about The Dagda made me for the first time interested in working with a masculine deity. Your work is definitely working.

Jon this was a great video! Around the 13 minute mark you really touched on a question I had… if I have been asked by a deity to do a task/job (specifically Morrigan, and it’s a career change), how involved does my relationship have to get with said deity? To be clear, I have felt Her in my life off and on for over 20 years, but this career calling has come loud and clear in the last 3 years. And I am totally on board with it and have started working towards this goal She has set. Does this also require that level of personal devotion like how you and Lora have?

Thanks Jon, another really interesting and informative video. Im curious about the concept of 'salvation' in Paganism. Is there such a thing? And if so, is it otherworldly or can it be strived for/achieved in our mortal life on earth?
@lynxfang3352
@lynxfang3352 5 ай бұрын
Salvation is specifically a Christian and Islamic term. As it tries to call upon a being higher than humanity to save it from itself because it's flawed. It feeds on the concepts of shame and basically brow beats the idea of "you can never be good enough no matter what you do" thus pulling the idea of self worth out of humanity and pushing for blind obedience and forced conversion of those around you. Basically it's more about oppressing thy neighbor into believing in something they don't and thus giving that belief power and thus forcing it to manifest and grow over time like a parasite. Not saying Jesus and Mohammed weren't real but the belief of each of their followings literally started by worship of a God of War Yahweh for the Christians ripped from the Canaanite pantheon, Set for the Islamics ripped from the Egyptian/Kemetic pantheon. And most of them don't even realize it.

I'm very open to my soul Landing on contracting with a particular deity for me in this life of mine to primarily relate to, Is work with, and be molded by. And I would love for that day to be the Dagda or perhaps the Morgan. Caltic UK blood is very strong In half of my lineage. And I would absolutely adore absolutely adore feeling like I am called to, and Is that, not just I but that the universe Delights in me taking part in the activation and reawakening of one of my ancestral spiritual lineages. So far, I don't know if that's just a fantasy and hope of mine rooted in my ego, Or if there is a real calling here. I suppose, if it's a real calling, it'll be it'll be undeniable and I won't be able to ignore it right? But here's my main question, Do you know of any unbroken schools for lineages That teach the ancient Celtic methods? Is there any way to be properly formally initiated? There is also something noble to the effort of reconstructing from The ashes. I understand that, and it moves my heart But with so much wounding, and so many filters open a collective Is psychology, I fear that modern efforts May not truly tap into the essence of the ancient work. And maybe it's not supposed to, maybe it is supposed to take on new light and new form

You say that not everyone will have a Good or Goddess interested in having you work for them. What if you long to belong to one of them? If they have no need for you in their work, will they just ignore you?
