Watching this as a left handed person is an interesting experience. We're forced by a right-hand-dominant society to adapt to things designed for a right handed world and thusly become, on average, much more ambidextrous by default than most righties. I am left handed, but if you handed me a pen and told me to write my name with my right hand, I could do it. It feels a bit foreign, but I don't struggle as much as my right handed husband when he attempts to write with his left. Basically, it comes from years of being forced to use your right hand for nimble tedious tasks because some tool or item you're interacting with is designed solely with right handed people in mind, I suspect.

When you realize that her handwriting with her non dominant hand is still much better than yours with your dominant one......

A “use your left hand only” challenge would be the easiest thing ever for me

I'm ambidextrous and do most of my writing with my left hand (though I can write well with both - I just prefer left). One of the biggest things that I've found that helps is to get a pen that is comfortable to use. I personally use a medium or broad nibbed fountain pen, but I'm also an underwriter. Before I discovered fountain pens and was encouraged to try out a broad nib by a fellow lefty, my go-to was the Pilot Precise V5 rollerball. Fine nibs and gel pens feel too scratchy for me. Massive respect for you using a ballpoint pen. For eating (I'm from the US), I generally eat with a fork right-handed, but pick up the knife and use that left-handed. I also use a kitchen knife left-handed.

I have the same problem as left handed people, I always get lead on my hand. Here’s the thing though, I’m right handed. I naturally write with my pinky and ring finger a little on the paper. So as I write lines, my hand just drags against the paper as the words get slightly smeared over and over again until people looking at my hand think that I’m not white.
