Hey there, so what do you think on buying 6800h and 3060 model? And do you think 3060 for 1440p is ok? I mean surely we can reduce the resolution to 1080p in next 3 to 4 years if needed but for now what do you think?

I have this model, been using it for a few months at this point. Got it with the 1440p screen. I play all of my games in 1440p res and this thing easily maxes out many newer games! Even the games that are a lot heavier to run it does great with. I play Cyberpunk 2077 all normal settings maxed out with all ray tracing settings on and DLSS set to Performance and FPS locked to 50 and it runs great. The full 140w 3060 + 12700H combo is fantastic although VRAM is a bottleneck for some titles. Other than that and some minor inconveniences like no Windows Hello support I'm absolutely happy with it. I see myself using this for the next three years as my main rig.

Hi I'm getting legion 5i pro i9 13900HX RTX 4060 that's the only variant available in my place, I actually wanted to go for i7 12700H RTX 3070ti firstly it's crazy hard to get it here but I eventually found some sellers selling it but it's hilarious they're selling it same price as i9 RTX 4060 variant $1800, I mean it seems crazy to me how on earth are they selling a i7 variant 2022 model same as i9 2023 model? Now I'm stuck if I'm paying $1800 for i7 and in this same price I'm getting i9 why shouldn't I get an i9 variant? But then I'm in confusion regarding the 4060 variant because I heard from many people the 4060 variant is not as good in performance rather the 3070ti Knocks out the 4060 in majority cases so I'm badly stuck what should I do can you guys help me? I'm going to be doing intensive graphical work, Blender, after effects, Davinci, Photoshop like very demanding task should I go for 4060 variant if it's performance is significantly better than 3070 or what?

Can you specify the conditions when it was tested in Cinebench R23? Because I have the same model but the max score on mine (17800+) and I think every result Ive seen in other videos as as well are below even the minimum recorded score in your testing and it seems pretty unreasonable.

The Cyberpunk noise samples perform at 95 or 130W. Are these values in Balanced Mode or is the higher value in Performance mode? How are they related to Witcher at 43 to 48 dB in the written review? Do the Cyberpunk noise samples exhibit the same loudness as one would get for GPU-only load, such as Furmark? --robert jasiek

Yes, balanced roughly 95W for the GPU and up to 140W in performance mode. Unfortunately, I can not (for now) measure DBs in the video studio yet. But I would say it translates to the numbers from the written review (43 - balanced, 48 - performance) It will be comparable since the GPU is under the same kind of load. There will be a variance, of course. For example, each game stresses the GPU slightly differently, but the fan noise difference will be negligible. It might be something to look into in detail and measure it.

Hello Alex, I can't see my last comment so I'm posting it again. The written review on notebookcheck (eng) mentions that "Chassis is anodized aluminum on top while the bottom is ABS plastic" Can you please confirm whether the keyboard deck is made of plastic or metal? Thanks!

Judging from our measurements, max fan noise is comparable, but in general, the Legion 5 is a little quieter.

Just ordered this from Costco for 1099 with 4 year warranty and 4% cash back’ it will be my first gaming laptop!- 90 day return policy lets me see how the nvidia 40 series chips should fare announcements. But I doubt they’d be anywhere near 1100.

Great Video many thanks. Bought the Laptops for Gaming and Programming. I am searching for a alternative charger. I have the brick with 300w and the smaller brick with 230 is to expensive. Could you recommend a charger? Is it possible to charge the laptop with 3.2 pd. I do not know if it would harm the battery.

You can get yourself a 100W USB-Charger for the rear USB-C. You will not get the full performance, but you can enjoy a much smaller AC adapter on the go!

@@cesarmejia5888 Yes. It worth buying. Now new generation is out with 13th generation CPU coupled with RTX4080. It is a powerful PC. I use it for video and audio editing. So far, I have never seen any error in the system.

@@Lancelot19 I'm also currently looking for i7 12700H RTX 3070ti but unfortunately it's priced same as the 2023 i9 13900HX variant so I'm confused as heck what should I do? Only 3060 variant seems well priced but then I'm going to be doing lot of heavy stuff like motion designing, 3D modeling, 4K video editing with lot of transitions and plugins plus Photoshop and illustrator I'm not sure if the 3060 variant can keep up with all this and give me a smooth performance

@@Inc0gnit045 I would say wait for lil more and see what comes, 13th gen is much better 12700 basically a desktop like cpu not efficient at all. If you can get a 4060 then it's quite future proof..

That really depends on what you are doing with it. In gaming, you might lose a couple of frames, but it will still give you a great experience.

@@Mee5en i finally selected acer predator helios neo 16 4050 version,125000 512 ssd ,i will extend ssd from service center after buying, performance is lot more than legion 5 , display resolution is only low and not IPS display, but when you see it in real it looks good display,for Better performance and gaming acer is the best

How much is the TDP of GPU 3060 in 512GB variant...because everywhere I see 1TB has 140w TDP with 3060 but how much is in 512GB..also in lenovo website it shows 115w with 512GB...

@@NotebookcheckReviews Yes, I do. It is simply extraordinary, and definitely one of the best all rounder gaming laptop. Plus it's not even that thick, loud, or heavy from what I have imagined. It also looks great while not drawing much attention, a clean look!

Depends on the specs. If they are the same specs you’ll get the save performance so whatever you get a better deal on you should get. Lenovo generally has better deals than acer

Hm, “TUF” decision 😂 I personally like both, the legion quite a bit more bulky but build like a tank and will give you better performance. The TUF is a lot lighter and easier to lug around!

@@NotebookcheckReviews Thanks, it was a close call but I ended up going for the Asus F15 Gaming laptop w/ the same CPU and GPU. It has 1 TB storage, which still ended up being less $ than the Lenovo w/ 512 GB.

Tough questions since these are very different machines. If price is a concern, the Legion 5 will give you slightly better CPU performance for less with the pricing you found. I don't think that we tested the AMD-based G17, but I am preparing a video about the Intel version right now, and they are almost quiet in Balanced mode despite very high power levels for the GPU. But with the deals you found, you lack quite a bit of RAM. What display configs do these two have in your case? I would consider that as well.

@@NotebookcheckReviews they both have FHD 1920x1080 Display asus came with 360 Hz / Lenovo 165 Hz I want to use the machine for architecture rendering such as vray and corona and maybe unreal engine and play games so im confused now my budget about 1500 Euros

Well that sounds like you need a ton of GPU performance. I would maybe look into the QHD version of the Legion 5.

Hi I'm getting legion 5i pro i9 13900HX RTX 4060 that's the only variant available in my place, I actually wanted to go for i7 12700H RTX 3070ti firstly it's crazy hard to get it here but I eventually found some sellers selling it but it's hilarious they're selling it same price as i9 RTX 4060 variant $1800, I mean it seems crazy to me how on earth are they selling a i7 variant 2022 model same as i9 2023 model? Now I'm stuck if I'm paying $1800 for i7 and in this same price I'm getting i9 why shouldn't I get an i9 variant? But then I'm in confusion regarding the 4060 variant because I heard from many people the 4060 variant is not as good in performance rather the 3070ti Knocks out the 4060 in majority cases so I'm badly stuck what should I do can you guys help me? I'm going to be doing intensive graphical work, Blender, after effects, Davinci, Photoshop like very demanding task should I go for 4060 variant if it's performance is significantly better than 3070 or what?

You get about 3% extra gpu performance for those watts. Not big, but when combine that with the 12700h(it will reduce cpu bottleneck and utilize the gpu more in cpu demanding games), that how you get that uplift. Theres plenty of games where a 5800h/5900hx and/or no mux will limit cpu performance (especially with that "bad" x16 ddr4 ram) which will in turn lower gpu utilization.

don't forget that 12700h run much cooler than 11700h, so that leave more room for gpu thermal dissipation, mine hardly get more than 77 when pumped >135 watt

@Ahmad Arif Sakti Can confirm, I have the same model and I'm playing Cyberpunk at 1440p with all normal settings maxed out, all raytracing settings on with raytracing set to medium and my GPU temp stays below 70c in non stressful situations, and only slightly higher in heavy combat scenarios. I'm using a stand with it too but it's just a normal metal one for elevation. The 140w TDP, DDR5 RAM, 12700H and just better cooling makes for a noticeably better performing laptop than the 2022 3060 models with the 5800H and 11800H CPUs. Couldn't be happier I picked this model
