One thing which we should not forget is that Mig 21 was developed after 2nd world War during 1960s to quickly intercept the enemy air crafts while flying in mainly in stream line flow with lesser manouverabilty and return quickly to their base so that even if any of the Mig21 gets hitted by enemy air craft the pilot could return to it safer place as soon as possible and that's why they were deployed close to border areas. The speed of Mig 21 plays an important role in its operations. Mig 21 is a legend, even its rival countries admit it but now its time to give rest to this bird.

Tejas mk1 tracking range for 5m^2 targets?? and what is the maximum range at which it can engage a target in bvr (taking the bvr missiles with which it is equipped currently).
