whats crazy is hes not even doing crazy tech like infinites or loops. hes just SOLID as fuck with good defense.

I’m actually in awe because I’ve never seen mvc played this way. The spacing, use of normals, and his pace was insane. He was surgical with the way he picked him apart. I want to see a run back after Justin makes adjustments. Those the type of fights that stick with you for a long while.

This guy's neutral control is just nuts, love the dash under, the antiair placements, when to go in. Another thing so impressive is his ability to freestyle his guardbreaks so well, and the Morrigan resets. And then the hurricane kick combo at 1:44, 1:51 and 9:21 where he gets all the hits of the tatsu, never seen that and that does a CRAPTON of damage.

There was always that one legend in the arcades who was unbeatable. This guy was probably one of them.

Fundamentals mastery is terrifying. My favorite part was how they consistently used Variable Combination as a sort of makeshift counterattack. And dear lord the whiff punishes! You'd think this guy was playing Alpha 3 or something with the playstyle they went with.

His opponent is winning purely on Fundamentals.

I'll be honest, I never thought anyone could do that to Justin Wong. I knew this was going to be bad when the guy was barely touched when he won at the 3:20 mark. He seemed to just do it with such ease. He kept turning up the heat as things went on too and his Morrigan play is crazy good.

Definitely Alan's fundamentals are the basis of his dominance! I use this exact team with Psylocke's assist and it's nothing but Beam City with that Psy assist. Also, can we talk about how awesome the Variable Cross theme is? It goes hard from the minute your character portraits line up.

This guy is an animal. He has obviously played the shit out of this game. You can tell by his spacing knowledge. Dude is aware of your landing position from falls, rolls and drops in almost every scenario.

AlanMargolies Ryu&Morrigan build different, a very strong player that sometimes like do Morrigan "Eternal Slumber" Hyper Combo finish (You know what next with this Super), but other players like DC, Akesch and Annonymus continue be very hard to Alan to defeat.

Funny I think Alan was holding back. Back in the day he used to switch between Akuma/Ken to nail the hurricane kick infinite. He also didn't use eternal slumber which he used to do quite often. TBF I find amazing Justin thinks Alan is so good, he is good but there's a ton of better players out there who also rock lower tier characters. I just can't imagine what his reaction would be against DC or Cow in their prime.

I used to play prioritizing fundamentals on MVC1 this way, although my latency was nuts bad, I think even being bad I showed some people it was certainly possible and even superior, and it indirectly inspired others like this guy.

Something about the 2v2s. Don't get me wrong, I love mvc2 and umvc3 and I love dbfz, but there's something about these 2v2s that makes me want to see more in the long run. It might be because I never had the luxury to play these games (I was outside and couldn't afford these games back in the late 90s, early 00s), so seeing them now it's like, in my mind I think more can be explored in a 2v2 (we bailed too early on mvci) like trying to find that team with perfect synergy instead of throwing the best characters together in a less chaotic fashion (that way you don't think I'm coming at the 3v3s lol). Definitely looking forward to project L, but I do wish I had a way to get my hands on these older games. I'm aware of fightcade but I only have my old and busted laptop at the moment.
